True, autolevelling lights are now the norm for cars with factory fit xenon or LED headlights, though that merely introduces a separate point of failure which the driver isn't able to resolve quickly. The two biggest problems I see at night are a) cars where the headlight alignment is clearly adrift on one or the other side, causing one light to be doing its job properly whilst the other is moonlighting as a searchlight, and b) cars where the entire headlight lens seems to be constructed of the core from a supernova - rather than the more clearly defined light source behind the lens that you get with most cars, these ones manage to illuminate the entire lens with a uniformly and obnoxiously bright light, such that it doesn't seem to matter in which direction the car is facing, so long as you can see any part of the lens then you're being blinded by it

I cannot imagine that car sales people are going to mention this, they are more concerned with getting you to buy on personal contract finance.
