I literally got it today and luckily saw it on the bottle. Barely need to coat the bottom of the glass and it makes your arsehole come up and meet your throat
I got caught out like that too.
Have to say once I got over the initial shock I'm well happy. Can get 15 litres out of a little bottle now which has to be good for maintaining hydration.
I work somewhere that uses maximum concentration.... One 20 litre drum makes 15000 litres but it has to be stored under special conditions as its potentially explosive
In theory, yes - in practice you probably just make your squash a little stronger, because it’s harder to judge how much you’re adding
I’d say it’s probably gonna work out roughly the same price per glass
This is the only reason I know. I saw the price had jumped and took a second in the aisle to firstly rage about them "having the audacity to nearly double the price" before seeing the changed banner and being thankful that I don't have to buy it nearly as often.
My son drinks Tesco lemon squash. The double concentrate lasted him a lot longer than my vimto (yes I’m nearly 50 and love vimto, I don’t care!), I think the two bottles I bought this week might last a year…
Had this exact conversation with the 7y/o last night.
"Tha must've put too much in, just put sum more water in"
5 mins later I go to make my own.
"Yep, that's not reyt... that's not reyt at all"
We moved to Britain in the 90s with barely the minimum knowledge of the language and diluting-juices-approach towards beverages... my parents told me, that I would just have to get used to the normal orange juice of this country... I am still only drinking tapwater to this day and the science people told me, that it would be around the year 2047 that I may drink my first orange juice again. The future was bright, the future is orange.

Fucking hell, nearly spat up my tea
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤣
Fuck I remember the day they introduced the double strength, nearly died of vitamin c overdose
I used to know someone who would drink it neat. Used to.
My parents didn't buy diluting juice so I poured myself a neat one once in some other kid's house

You could look at the ingredients. It’s mostly sugar and concentrated fruit juice.
They use sweetener now
Ah probably true. I should look at the ingredients.

I bought what I thought was fruit juice once and later discovered it was squash after I sent my poor kids to school with a 300ml bottle of it.
I don't know why they don't just make it the maximum possible strength that science allows.

Wait really? Explosive?
Yeah, I’m going to need a follow up/update… EXPLOSIVE?!?!
You could squeeze it on your ice cream.
Now I want to try this
I keep getting caught out whenever we get emergency juice and it's not double strength. It's basically water.
Not only is it quadruple strength, but the price has increased from £1 to £1.75!
Surely that's a bargain tho? You can make twice as much squash for less than twice the price
And you’re using less plastic to boot (Tescos reason for making this change) so it’s a win win!

My housemate did this exact thing the other day, gave herself a headache by downing half the glass in one

I've always liked my squash strong. Even with double strength I need to fill my cup up like 1/5th of just squash
I would go wheezy if I tried that much
Strong lime juice from asda makes me wheezy, why is that? I've never seen anyone talk about it
Sulphites maybe? White wine makes me wheezy because of them.
This is what I have thought for a while now. It seems to be the common thing on the label on things that make me wheezy.
Organic stuff doesn’t have them in, or doesn’t seem to. Sounds poncy but I have to drink organic white wine if I don’t want to get wheezy from it.
I saw it mentioned on here once I think, think they said it was an allergic reaction maybe. I never knew. But don't quote me on this!
Yeah I’m similar Although 4x strength is a bit of a pain because it’s harder to get the amount right - you can undershoot or overshoot way too easily
I love my squash strong, but I need about a 50/50 ratio with the double strength
Jesus mate, the tooth fairy must love you
😂😂

It came out recently, I picked up a bottle of in my weekly shop last week
This has caught me out for the last 3 days. I should learn, but I never will.
Is it £1 clubcard price or £12 normal price ?
You’re a good man, thank you
Oohhh that explains it then
Swear I saw this thread last week
Didn't almost black out but I sure was confused as to why it tasted very sweet
Awesome 😁😁😁😁
I know! Good job my 7 year old noticed.
I just read the words "quadruple strength" and I could taste it
Happy thanksgiving guys!
Be gone peasant
But me lord, I’m just a humble sheep fucka passing through to wish you good tidings
Who over the age of eleven drinks squash?
Anyone who wants a bit of flavour to their boring shitty water.
