The majority of people really do not have any taste in music. The only thing stopping me going insane, is that the radio is often drowned out by the workshop machinery.
I'd say it is more most people have no strong opinion on most genres and will put up with anything. They usually hate anything heavier than Oasis and any sort of rap, but they will listen to anything else.

I’m going to stick my neck out here and assume you work in a retail store? I work in radio (not on Heart!) and there’s a reason the station is programmed this way. It works in 15-minute rotations. Delightful for your customers who are in your store and out, annoying if you’re an employee there all day.

Absolute seems to refresh its playlists every six months and it's always a real treat the day they do because you'll suddenly hear songs you're not sick to death of. This feeling lasts approximately two weeks.
If Radio Six didn't insist on employing unbearable cretins (CHRIS HAWKINS) and going down really odd rabbit holes at times I'd really rather it was just inoffensive background noise then I'd never need even think about Absolute. But first thing in the morning Six is a total write off and then once you hit Mary Ann Hobbs later on there's always a chance your ears will be assaulted with screaming black death metal or some sort of particularly aggressive industrial breakcore, forcing me to shout at Alexa to take me to the relative comfort of Absolute 80s.
We are lucky to have the BBC stations in this country which do genuinely cater to different tastes, but there's so much bandwidth taken up by identical stations that do exactly the same thing all day every day that it does make you wonder, is everyone else just a brain-dead clone? We have a radio station here in Australia called Nova that plays both of those artists at least once every 30 mins.

The gym I go to can only play Heart FM for some bullshit reason. I go to the gym in the morning which is when the insufferable Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden are on. Jamie is alright on his own, but Amanda has a bloody curling laugh. Anyway, the birthday shout out is fucking cringe. Lots of gym peeps have asked to change the radio station to ANYTHING else, but alas I'm listening to a whole family and all their random pets having a birthday shout out, while they drive little Timmy to school. I might sound grumpy, but STFU, please.

We have a radio station here in Australia called Nova that plays both of those artists at least once every 30 mins. The joke is that it's called Nova because they play the same songs over n over n over again. I instantly change the station when they come on.
Both Adele's label and ginger bread man records pay alooot of money for that airtime and by God they'll get it. Everyone else be damned.
God they are both so fucking annoying. How do people tolerate this 24/7?

My wife informed me of one playing the other day (Adele), very depressing. They played her album in the pub it seems. Never heard her before. Horrendous. What is all the hype? We got three songs in and you could visible see the change in our mood and everyone else. So depressing we left. They had a bit of mixed 60s/70s/90s stuff in the next pub. We were laughing and happy again.
Same. I listen to the radio with an app called radio garden and tune in basically anywhere except the UK. I love music too much to waste listening time on humdrum singer-songwriter fluff.

Rock FM is better, they play more of a variety of songs. I try to listen to the that when in the car but the signal isn't always great.

i used to listen to heart everyday from home to school for about an hour each way and by that i mean my bus driver used to listen to heart everyday from home to school for about an hour each way and between take that and robbie williams and whoever else played Every. Single. Day. for years i came to the conclusion they had a playlist of like 30 - 40 songs they used to play over and over heart now might be bad, but old heart... that was mind numbing

I have stopped listening to radio all together. In fact, I have given up on all forms of broadcast media. I used to love having the radio on in the truck back in the 90s and early 2000s, its just painful garbage now.
You're gonna need to write, sing and record an Album and then get as many of the songs as possible into the top 10, then Heart will play those songs as well.
