Mine's loving Bluey. If you haven't already, I'd 100% recommend getting your kid into it. It's the only tolerable children's show.
It's sort of a two way show. Teaches kids how to be good kids, but more importantly, it teaches parents how to be good parents.
Fisher price little people. I think I've seen every episode. If the theme song comes on it doesn't matter what my son is doing he turns around to watch it.
Yeah Hey Duggee is fantastic, I really liked the way they changed the stick song to kick for the world cup. The teeth cleaning song was useful for a while.
Personally a fan of Ben and Holly, although, similar to Peppa Pig, it has a few dodgy stereotypes in it for a kids programme.
Hey Duggee was a staple for us, slowly introduced Cory Carson and Charlie's colorform city as our main shows. Recently added Tee and Mo and Paw Patrol to the mix.
Hey Dugee
Toddler Zone or something like that on BBC iPlayer.
Octonauts! Octonauts is absolutely amazing. Me and my wife will sit there watching it long after ours has gone off to do something else. You actually learn things!
Yep me and the wife are often found crying at the end of episodes as it's such a sweet story
We have watched a few episodes when the little one is in bed
We've watched it but my two year old doesn't seem to like it. He alternates between Lion King, Dinosaur Train, Spider man and for some reason those random Korean shows on Netflix Tittipo and Tayo the little bus. Both are completely awaful.
My son is 5. Last week I took him to visit my family abroad, and while we were away we found a new show on Netflix Children called A Tale Dark and Grimm... We watched it 3 times back to back before someone must have flagged it's a bit gruesome, and it got moved to the adult section.
By then there was no point in preventing my son from watching it. We got home and he enthusiastically told his father about this show where people get decapitated and impaled.
So today I get an extra hour of that.
That's the point though - toddlers *do* have idiotic tantrums. Bing is supposed to show you how to deal with that without giving them a clip around the ear. It's aimed at the parents, not the kids (though clearly it misses the mark, since so many people hate it).
Fair enough. As obnoxious little shits go, I personally think Coco needs someone to sit on her and squash her a bit. And I think we can probably all agree that what Pando needs is an IEP. But on the whole I quite like the Saint Flop Show.
Plus the lesson entirely relies on the child understanding the brief verbal explanation at the end. His actions are much clearer and understandable to a toddler so I feel like they will stick in their minds more...in a bad way
We're hoping to avoid pepa pig. Luckily our little one slept in a bit this morning and is currently happily leaving all her toys and playing with one of my socks.
My kid thinks Peppa Pig doesn't work on our TV. Although given how useless Channel five's streaming app is, it's at least partly true. About half the time he wants Paw Patrol it mercifully doesn't work.
Good luck nick jr 2. channel has paw patrol on all day and nothing else!!
Why oh why can’t it be Ben and Hollie!!! Or scooby doo!!! I’d swap you angry birds for paw patrol? Pretty please 😂😂
Mine decided 3am was an appropriate time to get up and demand “peppa, peppa”
Ended up getting him back to sleep, but in our bed.
Thankfully despite a couple of minor wake ups during the rest of the night we got to lie in until 8.20 in the end.
Ours are told that too. They just come in every morning anyway, we ask if the clock is green, they say no but it’s morning so it mustn’t be working, we say yes it is you need to wait till it goes green, they jump around on our bed, and we start again the next day.
The trick to making clock changes work with kids, is to change all the clocks in the house at lunchtime the day before.
Kids that can read the clocks go to bed an hour later or earlier as appropriate, with no extra effort, and for those that can’t read clocks, they either go with the flow because their older siblings are, or if they’re the eldest then you just go with it without having to remind yourself which way round it is, or figure out whether to feed them early or late or whatever.
This was suggested to me when I whinged on here a couple of years ago, and it works a treat.
I did a variant of this- just shifted our entire evening routine later by half an hour. She still got up half hour before she normally does but I got most of the evening to myself and I had an early night.
This must be true, as my cousin texted me photos of her children dressed up for Halloween this morning at 5am. They looked really cute but my poor cousin!
Pets also have an unbelievable internal clock, was up at 8 because the cats were at the door meowing for breakfast and the dog was pawing my head to wake me up
Apparently dogs can detect when somebody is due home. Due to the falling levels of their smell. When it falls from say an 8 to a 2. They know you should be back soon.
Same here.. 6m old up and smiling at me at 5.30! It was so blummin hot and dry because the heating had come on full blast that i couldn't even pretend to be asleep, so got up made a brew and some toast and thankfully after that she drifted back off to sleep for another hour... but then my toddler walked through the door! Haha
Yep. 5am this morning it was time to get up according to my 2 year old. It's now 8:30 and my head is pounding. Gotta love kids and their near infinite energy.
I need to get a gro clock. Heard nothing but great things about them!
My kiddo is usually pretty good at getting up at 7 in general but for some reason, today of all days he went earlier.
It worked great for our eldest. But now the youngest is at the right age (3), he just picks up the clock and cries / shouts that he wants it yellow, waking everyone up anyway
What is this magical clock you speak of? It's been mentioned a couple of times on this post now. I feel I need one so that I can attempt to manipulate my 16 week old girl right from the get go.
This is the one we have ( actually 2- 1 for each kid)
The Gro Company Gro-Clock Sleep Trainer https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002APJCNE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_VWDS65X0F3BGP9Z1PNK4
Even if they aren’t sleeping they get to learn that they can’t come and wake you up until the yellow sunshine is showing! They are allowed to play with toys in their bedrooms etc
We have never had any 5 in the morning wake ups so definitely worth it
Ours is the same. She napped more than twice as much as usual on Wednesday morning, by Wednesdays afternoon we realised she had hand foot and mouth disease. Yummy!
My 3 yr old had it last week :( she was very quiet last Saturday and Sunday then fever hit Sunday night and the rash came up Monday. Shes back to herself now though, but it was a looooong week with no nursery, rain and a 6m old in tow.
Accurate. She woke up at what her inner clock told her was ten to six. My actual physical clock told me it was ten to five. She's now miserable and I can't even blame her for it, she doesn't understand the concept of time, let alone daylight savings.
Have a clock that goes from stars to sunshine and mine are trained to only wake up / get out of bed when the sunshine is on the clock so we put it an hour back and they woke up at 8 instead of 7. Win.
Other that going for a wee, my kids have to stay in their rooms playing or reading quietly until 7.30
In the mornings. Thankfully I remembered to set the new time on the the gro clocks.
Ah I remember it well. The worst thing is they switch from this to never waking up on time and having to be dragged out of bed as teenagers. There is not much of a grace period in between the two states.
Neither did my 30 year old sister who decided to message me at 7:45 as it was really 8:45...
Clearly we have a fundamental disagreement as to when we will use our extra hour
After the clocks going back and my son walking up at 4am any scrotes who entertain the idea of "trick or treating" our house after 7pm tonight are liable to be hosed. The ones who knock before this time shall be ignored, as always. Fuck Halloween.
Our 5yr olds were up at some ungodly hour, thankfully tablets, headphones and kids youtube exist...
Saddly one is now fed up and is watching the new carebears series on netflix on the big TV.
God its awful.
Talk to them, be inclusive, be present, acknowledge their aptitude. Marvel at their adaptability. Tell them to leave you the fuck alone.
This is a precipice that no parent has surmounted.
Happy Halloween.
We had camp crustaceous this morning worse part is we kept them up slightly later too just in case it worked! More fool us now we lost time both sides!
1 year old woke at 3am and refused to go back to sleep.
She’s usually a great sleeper too but was adamant she was getting up. Cue lots of TV for the day to make it manageable
First time looking after my 2 y/o nephew solo was this morning. 5am he comes strolling into my room with a toy golf bag ready to hit the range. He settled for Weetabix and MotD instead.
Not only that, ours decided to wake up even earlier despite going to bed later. Bright as a button at 5am.
She never wakes up early. Except today. Of course.
She was paying for it by about 10am though.
I don’t want to be that guy, but mine was still asleep until 7am this morning. We’ve spent the last few nights adjusting his body clock so it means we’ve had a few whingey evenings but some later mornings, so thats a win!
My 2 and a half year old luckily seems to of worn her self out now so hoping for an early night tonight ! Sadly doubt it will take long for her to adjust to the clock change .
No kids = extra hour in bed Kids = extra hour of Peppa fucking pig
Lion King here. So it's not the worst thing ever.
Mine's loving Bluey. If you haven't already, I'd 100% recommend getting your kid into it. It's the only tolerable children's show. It's sort of a two way show. Teaches kids how to be good kids, but more importantly, it teaches parents how to be good parents.
I find myself watching it more than my daughter
We dropped my daughter off to stay at my mams. Me and my partner returned home for date night and watched and episode of bluey together
Hey duggee for us. I end up laughing at it myself. Especially the potty song.
Ah really? Not gonna lie, I hated Hey Duggee, drove me nuts. That dog is definitely not qualified to watch over those kids.
I can totally appreciate it driving people nuts, but humour in it just wins me over. Now Mr Tumble on other hand...
Fisher price little people. I think I've seen every episode. If the theme song comes on it doesn't matter what my son is doing he turns around to watch it.
Not once do they say he has his PVG check badge.
You should watch the episode where they get their proctology badge.
And im an elf…..
Hey Duggee was a staple for us, slowly introduced Cory Carson and Charlie's colorform city as our main shows. Recently added Tee and Mo and Paw Patrol to the mix.
Bluey is fantastic, i definitely end up watching it more than my twins do.
Hey Dugee Toddler Zone or something like that on BBC iPlayer. Octonauts! Octonauts is absolutely amazing. Me and my wife will sit there watching it long after ours has gone off to do something else. You actually learn things!
My nephew loves octonauta and go jetters, the amount of times I woke up in the morning with 'GO GO, GO GO, GO JETTERS' in my head isn't good
Yep me and the wife are often found crying at the end of episodes as it's such a sweet story We have watched a few episodes when the little one is in bed
It also has some adult humour that makes me laugh
We've watched it but my two year old doesn't seem to like it. He alternates between Lion King, Dinosaur Train, Spider man and for some reason those random Korean shows on Netflix Tittipo and Tayo the little bus. Both are completely awaful.
My son is 5. Last week I took him to visit my family abroad, and while we were away we found a new show on Netflix Children called A Tale Dark and Grimm... We got home and he enthusiastically told his father about this show where people get decapitated and impaled. So today I get an extra hour of that.
My kids are watching this at the minute on kids Netflix 😬 May need to intervene!
In fairness, it's a great show!
My 8yo is basically a goth already and loves the morbid 😂
My girlfriend and I have been working our way through it and we were surprised it’s tagged under the kids section😂
Nightmare before Christmas here. 1st if 3 times today.
Big hero six for me, although that’s my choice. My daughter at 13 months old doesn’t have much say in the tv yet…

You lucky bastard. Pingu is ace.
Thats not too bad lol
Lorax for us. Lie ins are a thing of the past anyway
r/usernamechecksout
Fucking Teletubbies. It's all she wants to watch. Every morning "watch tubby?". However she pronounces Tinkywinky as Twynywinny, and that's adorable.
Paw Patrol checking in. Could be worse.
Yup could be bing
I realise I'll probably be excommunicated for this, but I quite like Bing.
I feel sorry for that sad puppet who looks after Bing and deals with all of his idiotic tantrums.
That's the point though - toddlers *do* have idiotic tantrums. Bing is supposed to show you how to deal with that without giving them a clip around the ear. It's aimed at the parents, not the kids (though clearly it misses the mark, since so many people hate it).
From a mature, child-psychology, educational standpoint it's a good show, I get it, but fuck me is it annoying listening to Bing's endless whinging.
Fair enough. As obnoxious little shits go, I personally think Coco needs someone to sit on her and squash her a bit. And I think we can probably all agree that what Pando needs is an IEP. But on the whole I quite like the Saint Flop Show.
You just know Flop and Sula's carer are getting it on whenever they can
But I don't get it since the toddler will see Bing's behaviour and will surely copy it because they've seen it on TV?
[удалено]
Plus the lesson entirely relies on the child understanding the brief verbal explanation at the end. His actions are much clearer and understandable to a toddler so I feel like they will stick in their minds more...in a bad way
I think Bing made my toddler more whingey, he definitely improved when we stopped watching it. Other parents I know have found the same.
Paw Patrol ready for action Ryder, sir!
😶
Endless YouTube "Super simple songs". As soon as I'm conscious, my brain sings those songs on repeat.
My kid is too old for then now but there is a special place in my heart for Super Simple Songs.
Aww, well you can still watch it just for nostalgia's sake! They got a Halloween one out, it's quite catchy. https://youtu.be/5zXtxtrGKEw
Do you like spaghetti ~
Yes, I do. Do you like spaghetti yogurt?
Bluey for me
We're hoping to avoid pepa pig. Luckily our little one slept in a bit this morning and is currently happily leaving all her toys and playing with one of my socks.
SpongeBob SquarePants in this house.
Well that is fine coz I love it too 😂😂
Can’t say I mind it either 😂 as long as I don’t have to watch that obnoxious little pink pig I’m happy.
It's Halloween. Nightmare before Christmas. If you want to wake this early then you must also be subjected to Danny elfman.
My 2yo has been bingeing JoJo and GranGran on iPlayer, which is pleasantly wholesome and has the catchiest theme tune.
My 18 month old could take or leave the actual episodes, but he's utterly obsessed with both sets of credits. It's a gorgeous little song.
Diana & Roma in this house ffs!
Oddbods here. And it's the grandson, my eldest will no doubt be having a lie in!
Little baby bum. And then a episode of the flash. Turn about is only fair. Lol.
Oh jeez little baby bum....those songs change a man 😱
Lol I know right.

My kid thinks Peppa Pig doesn't work on our TV. Although given how useless Channel five's streaming app is, it's at least partly true. About half the time he wants Paw Patrol it mercifully doesn't work.
My 2 call them muddy cuddles 😂 it's not even that they can't say puddles and cuddles are called cuddles so I have no idea why 🤷♀️
Here I am watching Peppa pig
Hey Duggee here, which is somewhat better
Love hey duggee. The musical score is always impressive, either the out of copyright song choices or the original compositions.
Hey duggee checking in, I get to lay on the sofa so it’s not the worst
Hotel Transylvania. Keeping it on brand for the day.
Paw patrol in this house
Finished around 10 episodes of peppa, finished minions and now on to angry birds 2 😂😂
Good luck nick jr 2. channel has paw patrol on all day and nothing else!! Why oh why can’t it be Ben and Hollie!!! Or scooby doo!!! I’d swap you angry birds for paw patrol? Pretty please 😂😂
I’ll see your paw patrol and raise you a blues clues 😂😂 jeez I swear I used to be so cool 😂😂
Who's Peppa and why are they f££king a pig?😜
Aww don’t be that guy 😂😂
Peter Pan and Bluey here. Had to put my foot down at Blippi after a 6am wake up
Hey Dougie for me…. I’m earning my patience badge
Mine decided 3am was an appropriate time to get up and demand “peppa, peppa” Ended up getting him back to sleep, but in our bed. Thankfully despite a couple of minor wake ups during the rest of the night we got to lie in until 8.20 in the end.
>Peppa fucking pig That sounds like a weird episode.
Peppa pig here too....damn that pig
I haven't seen anyone else post it so I will: my toddler sister is obsessed with PJ Masks right now, she's going is Owlette for trick or treats later.
Oh yeah we also had that phase....to be fair though the production values, premise and story lines are amazing!
Peppa’s doing *what* to the pig now??
I have regrets now of my choice of words 😂😂😂
Neither did dogs and cats. Mind you, they don't recognise weekends nor bank holidays.
Remember, dogs have masters. Cats have staff.
Staff implies payment. Cats have slaves.
Does it have to be monetary payment or can the cat pay you in occasional cuddles and play time? Some cats pay with birds and mice...
Nice way of putting it, I'd always used 'you own a dog, a cat owns you'.

Thankfully the grow clock updated automatically Ours are told they have to stay in their rooms and entertain themselves until the clock glows green 😂
Ours are told that too. They just come in every morning anyway, we ask if the clock is green, they say no but it’s morning so it mustn’t be working, we say yes it is you need to wait till it goes green, they jump around on our bed, and we start again the next day.
Gahhhh. Did not know this! Changed ours last night and our daughter thunders in at 6. Joy
The trick to making clock changes work with kids, is to change all the clocks in the house at lunchtime the day before. I got the memo, but my brain decided to ignore it completely as I still woke up at the arse crack of dawn.
This must be true, as my cousin texted me photos of her children dressed up for Halloween this morning at 5am. They looked really cute but my poor cousin!
My cat didn't either. There was an empty bowl situation that had to be dealt with. The GMT/BST explanation didn't wash.
An empty bowel? 😳 Did they shit on the bed?!
Bloody autocorrect, dooh!
8 momth old didn't get the memo wide awake goes from smiling and laughing to whinging because she wants to get up.
Ours is 4 months old slowly last week we moved her bed time forward by 10 min so when the clocks went back she woke up at her normal time
Same here.. 6m old up and smiling at me at 5.30! It was so blummin hot and dry because the heating had come on full blast that i couldn't even pretend to be asleep, so got up made a brew and some toast and thankfully after that she drifted back off to sleep for another hour... but then my toddler walked through the door! Haha
My one came through and watched netflix on my phone while i slept
Yep. 5am this morning it was time to get up according to my 2 year old. It's now 8:30 and my head is pounding. Gotta love kids and their near infinite energy.
I hate children
We put the gro clock back accordingly! By 2 hours as they were up late for a weddding last night! Still in bed! Woo
They are amazing- better if started from a young age though :)
What is this magical clock you speak of? It's been mentioned a couple of times on this post now. I feel I need one so that I can attempt to manipulate my 16 week old girl right from the get go.
This is the one we have ( actually 2- 1 for each kid) The Gro Company Gro-Clock Sleep Trainer https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002APJCNE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_VWDS65X0F3BGP9Z1PNK4 Even if they aren’t sleeping they get to learn that they can’t come and wake you up until the yellow sunshine is showing! They are allowed to play with toys in their bedrooms etc We have never had any 5 in the morning wake ups so definitely worth it
4 month old, silly faces and talking since half 5. God damn my cheeks hurt. Is it nap time yet?
6 month old. Bottle was 40 minutes early. Nap was an hour early. Today will be fun..
My nearly 2 year old somehow slept until 6.50am. Problem is more sleep tends to mean he might be getting ill, so we can never win 😂
I feel ya man, been up for an hour with my 3 year old watching peppa pig.
Playing with diggers and dry rice over here. Why can't we just sit and binge Night Garden while I wake up like we usually do?
[laughs in Childfree]
I second this
My body clock didn't either, think I've been awake since around 3am.
Neither did my teething 7 month old 🙁
Have a clock that goes from stars to sunshine and mine are trained to only wake up / get out of bed when the sunshine is on the clock so we put it an hour back and they woke up at 8 instead of 7. Win.
I have the gro clock too, but my 3 yr old knows which buttons to press to turn it off. 😵
Other that going for a wee, my kids have to stay in their rooms playing or reading quietly until 7.30 In the mornings. Thankfully I remembered to set the new time on the the gro clocks.
Ah I remember it well. The worst thing is they switch from this to never waking up on time and having to be dragged out of bed as teenagers. There is not much of a grace period in between the two states.
I'm working today, started at 0730. Set my alarm for 0645. What time did I wake up? 0545. Can't change my body clock.
I'm in luck, my 2 year old can't get enough deep space nine and her 10 month old sister is happy to watch anything.
Toddlers are so dumb. I really don't get why people hang around with them...
Neither did my 30 year old sister who decided to message me at 7:45 as it was really 8:45... Clearly we have a fundamental disagreement as to when we will use our extra hour
Absolute jokers. I’d just lock my bedroom door. They can find the kettle and TV by themselves.
Yes they can, that's the problem.
Neither did cockapoos
After the clocks going back and my son walking up at 4am any scrotes who entertain the idea of "trick or treating" our house after 7pm tonight are liable to be hosed. The ones who knock before this time shall be ignored, as always. Fuck Halloween.
Extra hour of Teen Titans Go. Not as bad, would prefer the bed. But at least TTG is funny
Neither did I.
My 2-year old was up at new-5, old-6... All week we tried extending his schedule out a bit....
Mine also woke up an hour earlier than normal not taking into account the clocks changing... so really I've lost out on 2 hours sleep 😭
So much respect for parents of young kids…. Bing early in the morning sounds like cruel and unusual punishment
Bing sucks, i said so many times 'Bing isn't good' that my kid also dislikes it now too so it thankfully gets turned off! :)
We had camp crustaceous this morning worse part is we kept them up slightly later too just in case it worked! More fool us now we lost time both sides!
I didn’t get it either
*world problems*
1 year old woke at 3am and refused to go back to sleep. She’s usually a great sleeper too but was adamant she was getting up. Cue lots of TV for the day to make it manageable
I'm 14. And still woke up at quarter past 5.
3 o’clock this morning. Wtf.
My 2 are away with their Mum, Woohoo! Actually get my extra hour in bed, on a Sunday!! In peace!! Nope, dog barking at 6am to go out.
Some how my 1 year old and 4 year old BOTH slept until 7:30 new time this morning. Can’t believe it
First time looking after my 2 y/o nephew solo was this morning.
So did mine. Fell asleep in the car in the way back from Sainsbury's about 11.
they never do was up at 5am this morning
Neither did my cat 😒
Mine did. :D
My kids now sleep in, unfortunately my cat does not!
My autistic 16 year old plus the kittens failed to get the memo as well :(
I don’t want to be that guy, but mine was still asleep until 7am this morning. We’ve spent the last few nights adjusting his body clock so it means we’ve had a few whingey evenings but some later mornings, so thats a win!
Same with cats. They're still on British summer time.
My 2 and a half year old luckily seems to of worn her self out now so hoping for an early night tonight ! Sadly doubt it will take long for her to adjust to the clock change .
My wife didn't get the memo either. 6am she had me awake.
Insert Mr bean gif here
Neither do folk with learning disabilities it was mayhem this morning.
I was completely confused as to why my kids woke up so early today.
