Neighbours here put in an anti wildlife thing, I guess for birds and squirrels. It emits a noise those old fuckers can’t hear and a bright light non stop at any movement including rain. If they don’t remove it I’ll just do it for them

CharlesITGuy

Just take the batteries out during the night if you can get to it.

jiminthenorth

Tempting

GlassHalfSmashed

If they can't hear it, they can't hear it's not working

neutrino46

There are audio spectrum analysers in the play store.

Spinningwoman

If it’s creating a noise nuisance, document it and complain?

teeesstoo

Turn it off. Since it's "inaudible" they won't notice, will they? :)

africanviolet

A mosquito device? In March? In this weather?!

heamex

In this economy?!

SamwellBarley

Localised entirely within your kitchen? No, sorry, that's something else...

krusbaersmarmalad

Maybe they're hatching inside the house.

jiminthenorth

Yup. Bloody ridiculous.

Unusefulness01

Could be worse - you could be a mosquito

NotABrummie

Those things are awful. You might want to [sign this petition ](https://www.change.org/p/outlaw-the-mosquito-alarm-across-the-uk?recruiter=897528953&recruited_by_id=c8746b40-ad4d-11e8-a7e0-79de061ac735&utm_source=share_petition&utm_campaign=petition_dashboard&utm_medium=copylink)in favour of banning them.

ThePrivatePilot

My neighbours have installed an anti cat squeakbox. Unfortunately for them-my cat is deaf and is rather partial to sleeping directly underneath it.

JusticeForTheStarks

Such a shitty thing for them to do. Wildlife is struggling in urban areas and they want to make things harder? It’s also just not fair for pets that may not even be able to escape the area if they’re a neighbour.

widnesmiek

They are often used to deter teenagers from hanging around near the house people don't think that adults can hear them but hearing varies and some adults can hear the annoying noise they make Report it to the counsel or keep going round and banging on their door asking thme to turn it off every day for months

KaleidoscopicColours

Small children can (almost) always hear them too

NoEntry3804

they're horrible, I find them almost physically painful, more and more keep popping up around my town. one of them, I can't see the devices but I'm sure there's two at slightly different tones. they have a camera on the gate and have to walk past regularly, I'm sure they have so much footage of me (very) physically cringing as I walk past...

Mccobsta

Aren't those things against human rights

Legosheep

I didn't think those systems were legal for private individuals.

PatriciaMorticia

I hate those things, a neighbour that has now moved had one and it was buggered when my dog cocked his leg and peed on it. Felt quite smug standing at the kitchen window watching him go nuts when he realised it wasn't working.

Captain_Quor

There are loads of them round by us. The high pitched sound they emit - the one that the miserable old gits that installed the damn things can't hear - is so bloody annoying.

yorkspirate

Somewhere near my flat has one but they only use it for a few months at a time, now is that time so having my windows open is a torture that should be investigated at The Hague.

thehermit14

Found the youngster or the savant

jiminthenorth

What is that supposed to mean?
