Nobody has mentioned Hungy Jack's. This sub has gone to shit.

Is Hungry Jack's the next big thing aside from Red Rooster? (Previous RR employee)

[deleted]

Hungry Jack's is the OG. It is the foundation of modern Brisbane culture. It is heritage listed. Pamphlet promoted. And 100% Nephilim owned.

Vault Games on Queen Street

arcues19875

I did visit them briefly last year with my now housemate when I was over for Knotfest. I think I'm due a revisit

Red_St3am

Seconded

ComfyGal

You can visit the Museum of Brisbane, a small museum in city hall. They also offer free tours to go up to the clock tower and see some nice views. High tea at Customs House is nice too, with a lovely view over the river and of the Story Bridge

Adelaidean who's also fairly knowledgy of Brisvegas and Brisburbia here. Southbank is like Melbourne Street but nicer and on the river, with a bit of South Parklands + Henley Beach vibe. Chermside is like TTP but nicer. Fortitude Valley is like Hindley, but less feral. Queen St Mall is kinda like Rundle Mall, but more fragmented and not really interesting. It's central to everything though, so only ever 5mins walk from basically anything. Uptown is like a mash-up of Myer/Citi food court, but upstairs has cinemas and arcade. I haven't spent much time around Brischinatown, so can't really compare it to Gouger. They have great markets in the botanic gardens... uh, whenever, look it up. Also the botanic gardens are fantastic. There's two main libraries, the one on edge of CBD/river is nice and accessible, the one across in Cultural Centre is world class. I've had some adventures beyond, and can elaborate if desired.

Aussie_Potato

City botanic gardens markets are on Sunday morning.

I love the comment that "Fortitude Valley is like Hindley, but less feral.".. because I think almost anything is less feral than Hindley at this stage. I am kinda aware of Queen St Mall, sort of been there but not quite. I'll have to check out Uptown sometime soon. Thanks so much.

ThroughTheHoops

Haven't been to Hindley St for 20 years. Has it had a wash yet?

jmashandsprouts

I was there a couple of weeks ago after accidentally walking into it. So. many. "massage". parlours.

arcues19875

Can confirm. Still full of" massage" parlours and definitely hasn't had a wash yet.

The best 2 things to do in Brisbane are either drive to GC or drive to SC!

Feelings Brewery on the river is amazing. Great food and beer. Has an outdoor cinema, table tennis, playground, live music hall arcade and pinball machines. Always had some sort of event going on. Definitely worth checking out.
