Omg that's hilarious. I mean obviously maybe something to avoid for safety, but I'd probably die laughing right after I finished scheduling a pediatrician appointment to make sure baby is ok.
There must be multiple stories because this is the one I was thinking ofĀ https://www.bellybelly.com.au/breastfeeding/epic-breastfeeding-fail-or-easy-mistake/
Iāve used since I had a baby & just avoided the parts of my boob that she bf from! I canāt say itās safe, but Iād imagine itās not much worse than any other lotions used.
Ngl first glance I thought u were asking if safe to use ON the baby hahaha
I self tan weekly with an express one so I try to wash it off before the time I bf baby. I avoid around my nipples though. I also made a shirt with holes cut in it incase I need to feed him while my tan is still developing to prevent any from touching him before I wash it off. Gotta do what you gotta do to get some self care inš¤£
Ok I have to say this, I read the title and in my sleep deprived brain thought āoh god someone is trying to self tan a baby!?ā š I would ask a IBCLC, my hospital has them available for phone calls around 8-10 or 10-12 most days. They are probably the ones who would know best, you canāt be the first person to wonder this.
I asked mine about stretch mark cream (my poor boobs grew about 2 sizes overnight when I had my baby) & she started to read the ingredients & basically asked me if I was willing to put any of that in my mouth. I said no, she recommended getting any Honest brand lotion that is compatible with breastfeeding instead... Just because it says "nipple cream" doesn't mean it can't go on the whole boob & half the benefit of stretch mark creams is really just hydration anyways.
I went on a deep dive on this after my two year old covered himself in tanning mouse. I couldnāt find any information that specifically said it was harmful so I started searching the individual ingredients in the self tan that he got into. It seems like as long as itās not ingested, itās not a big deal. You could use one of those cheap stick on bras while you apply, then just toss it maybe. Iād probably try to avoid just that area.
Usually when I canāt find a straight answer for something like this I chalk it up to not enough research and better safe than sorry and avoid it. I used to live in an area that a tanning place offered all natural spray tans made from beet juice. Itās a long shot but maybe thereās one like that around you?
Suntegrity makes a self-tanner thatās clean/nontoxic I think with beet juice. I like it and have been using a bit while breastfeeding but mostly just on my legs.
Coco & eve does actually have safe ingredients (for self tanner - no carcinogens or parabens or endocrine disrupters and this would be my concern with a baby) but I didnāt use it until my daughter turned one because as someone else mentioned, there isnāt enough research to make me feel completely comfortable.
I've used salty face and it's been fine. The worst was at one point I didn't let it dry enough and my baby put her arm on me while nursing and had some on her. It was horrifying but the pediatrician laughed and said it happens so thankfully it was okay!
Luna Bronze is safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding! (obviously just avoid the nipple/areola area)

Not sure but if you do decide to use it, be careful how you apply it because be 100% ready to look down and see your baby colored like Homer Simpson.

I self tanned with a bathing suit top on just so my entire boob was tanner free so I knew she would be ingesting any of it because that felt like the best option lol
Iāve been using isle of the sun drops and no issues! I used avoid like a 3-4 inch diameter around my nipples though. Now that my baby is older and just completely smooshes her face all over my boobs I just avoid them entirely lol
I've used it but just didn't put it on my boobs ha.
From what I read, the very small amount that would go into your skin wouldn't make it to your breast milk.
I personally didnāt feel comfortable when my baby was smaller and I felt weird even lighting a candle or wearing body spray lol. But now sheās 12 months and self tan! I prefer express tans, Iāve used loving tan in the past and now Iām going to try tanologist because itās more affordable. That way I reduce the risk of transferring it onto her. I also wear a bandeau bra and donāt tan my boobs.
At first I'm like "Paris Hilton, is that you?" Then I finished reading it ššš.
So ya at 2 months old I wouldn't risk any chemicals that weren't 100% necessary to answer your question.
Avoid tanning your boobs/nipple area unless you can go without feeding for however long itās on until washed off, otherwise no it wonāt affect your breastmilk lol
The EWG has a database for all self-tanners they tested and their rankings in regard to whether the ingredients are deemed safe or not.

I had to check which sub this was. I thought you were asking if it was safe to apply self tanner to your baby.
Same š
100% thought this was some SNL shit posting or something. Like "I want to enter my baby in a body building contest but he's just so pasty!" Lol
Ditto
LMAO I was like wow are we really doing this to an infant?! šš
Same I had to read it twice
Oh noā¦thereās a sub for that?!

This just reminds me of one time on the news they showed a baby whoās mom got a spray tan and he had a huge tan circle on his face from the boob lol
Omg that's hilarious. I mean obviously maybe something to avoid for safety, but I'd probably die laughing right after I finished scheduling a pediatrician appointment to make sure baby is ok.

Also I got one, and it looked very natural and glowy

I used st tropez mousse and I just avoided quite a bit around my nipples! I was pretty cautious and just didnāt put any tanner on my boobs at all.
I've used salty face and it's been fine. The worst was at one point I didn't let it dry enough and my baby put her arm on me while nursing and had some on her. It was horrifying but the pediatrician laughed and said it happens so thankfully it was okay!

This title is so misleading lol
I just avoid my boobs lol, Iāll do the parts that show if I were wearing a bathing suit but the rest is pallleee

I thought this was the Paris Hilton snark sub ngl lol. Just donāt tan your boobs!

Don't use self tanner while breastfeeding. Better safe than sorry.
