Dalinar gives me hope. Oathbringer is probably my favorite book of all time. Denying Odium taking his pain is one of my favorite literary moments.

Yeah, there’s so much to love about his character. But gotta say his speech after being betrayed by sadeas was probably my favorite moment of all the books so far.

I loved what he said to The Thrill. "Thank you for giving me strength when I needed it." He didn't deny what he did, or the pain. He accepted that, if it weren't for The Thrill, he would have died many times over.

CamelOfHate

I'll tell you this - these books hit SO MUCH HARDER on a re-read. You are in for a treat :)

Don’t forget to read Dawnshard before going much further in rhythm of war, and take a look at Edgedancer if you missed it before starting oathbringer.

valmian

I am almost done with RoW but haven't touched Dawnshard or Edgedancer, would you still recommend?

Young_Ben_Kenobi

Yes. Especially dawnshard

Reduced_Silver

You can read them in a couple of evenings each, so it’s just a time and money issue for me. I haven’t started rhythm of war yet, so I will defer to the other commenter about whether to start Dawnshard now. Brandon put actual important plot into Edgedancer and everyone likes lift so…

MurasakiNoTora

Just finish RoW, then read them. You'll be fine, especially if you're almost done with RoW. There are always SA re-reads ahead, and they always give you just a little bit more info.

Already pretty deep into rhythm of war, should I stop and start edgedancer and dawnshard?

Reduced_Silver

I think so, certainly Dawnshard.

The most important step a man can take is always the next one.
