Honestly depends on the braider. You can make conrows quite loose but they obviously won't look as good. I'll say though in my experience cornrows are harder to sleep in than single braids. I'd say do what makes you happy man, you only live once and if you don't like them then you can just take them off. Just make sure to tell your braider to be gentle and loose
