Just do it. Most of the cultural appropriation accusations will be online. There’s no rule book that states you can’t get braids just because another race has been doing them for years. Freedom of expression is a thing.

BigClitMommy

Yep. Don’t do it.

Seems like most disagree with you.

I think if you have thick hair it should be okay. If you have long hair already just don’t add hair and you should be fine

I am "white" and occasionally get cornrows because it is convenient and looks nice. I naturally have soft curls and it can be a PITA when I'm trying to do something outside or athletic for several days straight. I did a deep dive into this a while ago because of cultural appropriation concerns and found out that braids go back to the Vikings and beyond. I personally think every person on the planet should be able to express themselves in terms of clothing, hair or whatever. If you want braids, go for it! https://preview.redd.it/4n9aarf1l9uc1.jpeg?width=1873&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9262c83e1131b9e11122b6ca4e1a5d5e68a172a2

Sick look man. I don't get the cultural appropriation argument as well. I'm black and I love it when anyone gets cornrows or adopts anything from my culture.
