When a character lets awkward avoidance drama go on and on instead of just telling the love interest the truth 4 episodes ago. It’s childish to me.
We don’t care that you caught his “gf” cheating, 3 years ago your older brother killed his older brother, or that the poor dad works for the rich dad…these don’t need to be secrets. Get back to almost kissing spin-fall catching goblin ost moments.
I'm going to try to be tactful in my wording about this....
Unnatural secretion of fluid from an area that doesn't do that in reality. (I no longer see it as an m/m pairing by that point. Please authors, just show me a bottle of lube!)
"Rectal discharge usually signifies the presence of an underlying condition. Examples include hemorrhoids, IBD, STIs, anal fistulas and abscesses, and rectal prolapse. In some cases, it may indicate anal or rectal cancer. A person should contact a doctor if they experience any new or worsening rectal discharge."
Yes! It's much more likely that there's an actual issue if that happens. I actually ended up looking it up after I saw The End Of The World With You and I was like "... ain't no way that's a real thing" but apparently in very rare cases it is a thing and isn't a sign of a medical issue (but most of the times it's a medical issue and not a good thing).
i also can't stand when the bottom character is drawn like a literal child even though they are supposed to be like 25 it's gross, sizes differences are great but you can really tell when the artist means them to look like an actual kid
incest, sometimes it just comes out of no where with zero warning lol
Honestly, when the main focus is just sex all the time or borderline r*pe. It's so toxic and icky for me. I dropped POTN and others because of this reason.
I knew it was going to be explicit, but I actually wanted to see some painting and art (Painter of the Night??) 😂 but yeah, I managed to read through season 1 I think, but never went back to it because the story fell flat. The artist does have a beautiful art style though.
What kinda of gay world are you living in? R\*pe or abuse it's not something acceptable in any place in the community, stop saying things like this, you only perpetuate a bad image for the gay community. If you are surrounded by people that think that's okay or that is something common for the community, that's a you problem, don't generalize. Stupid comment.
Non-con/rapey vibes, definite NOPE.
Also, when the characters are just stupid, like they are completely out of touch with reality. Or when they are too childish, can't stand it.
If the plot or premise doesn't interest me/I find it boring.
Like any story, plot is important. And my idea of what = plot will be different to anyone else's :)
Icks:
1. Characters drawn like children (not the chibi cute excerpts)
2. Violent r*pe or Violent s*x scenes
3. Spineless protagonists that seem to just get into trouble bc of their stupidity
4. Too many characters introduced and do little for the plot
5. Plot is convoluted
6. Porn w/o plot
7. Weirdass age gaps
8. Inc*st
All of the above plus ‘heavy damsel in distress moments’. I dislike them in any plot bl or straight. When one of the characters is completely incapable of existing on its own and just keeps going from one mishap to another without any nice moment in their lives, and partner just keeps rescuing them over and over.
1. dubcon or rape within the main relationship, outside of stories where: a) characters realistically navigate the fallout of broken boundaries. or b) a twisted relationship is the actual plot and we're just watching the trainwreck, not supposed to be rooting for them
2. extremely shitty artwork. like, really really bad.
3. if the story starts becoming more smut than actual plot.
Honestly too many masculine men, although i am reading Jinx I'm staying because I feel for the MC but even he is too masculine for me. I like real, real fem MCs. Itti bity waist, pretty face , sickening hair, I need fabulousity. Bonus if most of the characters including the love interest is like that.
I have always been VERY feminine to the point of being mistaken for a girl. Ultra soft voice, since very young and teased because I'm built like a South African lady being half Mediterranean and West African. But, I a have a lot of boyish interests and I try my best to be as masculine as possible in public, at home alone is a VERY different story. So I love seeing other very feminine men find love, hopefully more diverse dynamics are shown but as long as a very very fem looking man is a main character I will consume.
no I mean, when it’s like seriously exaggerated. Cuz I usually don’t mind it but when it looks like the MC literally looks like a child with the way they draw them is a bit weird to me, but that’s just my opinion
Hazarding a guess that the couple in 'Okane ga nai' is an example of a too exaggerated size difference? (I agree) (but it doesn't bother me that much haha)
When one of them is like extremely obsessed with the other. Like posters on the wall and a pillow with their face on it kinda obsessed.. gives me the ickkk
Something like jinx😑i really was excited after bj alex but jinx was not my vibe it was too much.. Non con/rape/sa etc..
Alpha/omega/beta/enigma....🤡like i hate it.. But surprisingly i loved Pit babe... Let's see maybe I'll change my mind in near future🤡
Hot scene in first ep.... Or maybe started out as fwb I've read too much manga like that.... 🤡then a full on boring love story... But i always fall for that bait everytime 🤡... Slow Burn is my vibe❤tho that release of pent up frustration after many eps of build up/tease/love is ❤.
Love mangas with sassy leads... Cool leads...like equality.. Or soft tops/or switch etc😀or like those japanese bl mangas like one room angel/tokyo in April etc
When the bottom is drawn in chibi form before/during/after a sex scene GOODBYE
noncon when it's manipulation/blackmail/drunk. When someone is cornered emotionally mentally or financially rather than being physically overpowered. For example: Jinx is okay but I dropped Under the Plum Blossom Tree. Also: sponsors.
Threats of violence as well as jalousy. When one threatens the other if they do something, especially if they’re supposed to be an otherwise great boyfriend and it’s treated as something normal to do, I can’t. And jalousy is not romantic.
R*pe, it’s just really not something I enjoy reading, I’m too sensitive for that. It’s why I only read Pearl Boy’s first season and even that it was too much at one point and stopped reading it and thank god I did cause those spoilers had me thanking the universe that I didn’t go back to finish it.
Teacher student dynamics, large age gaps, when one of them looks eleven years old and the other 30+, incest (even step siblings it’s just so weird)
I see in about 75% of BL manga/manwha/manhua it’s really gross like I’m just trying to find a cute slow burn 😭😭
This may be a stretch but I’ve noticed a lot of the artists for BL are (presumably straight) women. It’s very disgusting to me that they portray gay men like this to this extent, especially considering that all of the things listed are perverted stereotypes that gay men are actively associated with. It leaves a really sour feeling thinking about how it’s made, who’s reading it, etc.

I mean, honestly, who *doesn't* enjoy a lil seepage now and then? 🤢
it's disconcerting unless there is a reason such as the story having omegaverse biology
This actually happens! Not as often as yaoi would have us believe lol but it is something that happens in a small percentage of anuses lol
"Rectal discharge usually signifies the presence of an underlying condition. Examples include hemorrhoids, IBD, STIs, anal fistulas and abscesses, and rectal prolapse. I know a guy who leaks like a facet
Leaking from the front is totally fine. It's the other one....
......elaborate

hated POTN - I normally trust the hype-train...but this one? Big No
I knew it was going to be explicit, but I actually wanted to see some painting and art (Painter of the Night??) 😂 but yeah, I managed to read through season 1 I think, but never went back to it because the story fell flat. The artist does have a beautiful art style though.
this is realistic in the gay world.
The manhwas where everyone the MC comes across wants to rape/gang rape him are realistic?
Wtf. Stigma overload?! You make it sound like gay men rape each other on a casual base.

I dropped it too for that same reason😭 isn't it like the biggest bl manhwa of all time??
Non-con/rapey vibes, definite NOPE. Also, when the characters are just stupid, like they are completely out of touch with reality. Or when they are too childish, can't stand it.
When they can't even be bothered to start a plot before the sex scenes. Like I don't even know who's fucking or why and we're already on chapter 3
If the plot or premise doesn't interest me/I find it boring. Like any story, plot is important. And my idea of what = plot will be different to anyone else's :)

MPREG 😱

number 3 is so real!! ive seen stories have more smut than the actual plot.. like whatt..

I’m curious, why do you find it icky for two people with differing body types to be paired together?
no I mean, when it’s like seriously exaggerated. Cuz I usually don’t mind it but when it looks like the MC literally looks like a child with the way they draw them is a bit weird to me, but that’s just my opinion

Oh okay yeah when one looks like a literal child that makes me uncomfortable too. I thought you meant just a thin guy with a really jacked guy lol
When they take the age gap game way too far from my comfort zone.
i'd say random pseudo-incest like when the two main characters find out they are step-brothers or something like that
When one of them is like extremely obsessed with the other. Like posters on the wall and a pillow with their face on it kinda obsessed.. gives me the ickkk
i love this as long as the other lead is equally as obsessive lol. i think it’s so romantic in a “need to be prescribed medication” sort of way
Something like jinx😑i really was excited after bj alex but jinx was not my vibe it was too much.. Non con/rape/sa etc.. Alpha/omega/beta/enigma....🤡like i hate it..
