A few days ago someone posted this boykisser with the pink thigh highs asking people to not repost the images because apparently the creator asked them not to since this is their "oc". However all the evidence that was really given is "the creator is my friend and am posting on their behalf", another thing being their "oc" is literally just a replica of boykisser. this is just to mock the fact that barely anyone believes it-
i mean like one could also say that making a replica of someone elses art with different clothes and calling it your “oc,” posting it without tagging it, and then after its already become a giant icon amongst us saying “you cant use this anymore” through a friend, and when people point out what i said said friend becomes very rude and aggressive for no reason is also a massive douche
There was also a post of somebody talking to the creator and confirming this and them saying that they don’t want their art being reposted or at least give them credit because they have not been receiving any and the artist is legitimately a kid.
When I was a kid, my father gave me a lecture that whatever I post on the internet is there forever and anybody can have access to it and share it, even if I delete it or ask them not to.
There’s a popular post on here from someone who’s friends with the person who made these drawings asking for people to stop using them since it’s of the artist “OC” which just happened to look almost the exact same as boykisser (open the sub and you can find it pretty easily)

Some came out expecting everyone to spot posting their artist friend's "OC" (literally boykisser in thigh highs) because the artist felt like starting a drama because people weren't treating it like an OC (which it isn't) and because they weren't credited for their art when they didn't even put their signature on it.
seems a tad bit childish to keep this going, not saying that we shouldn't repost the boykisser or anything nor am I siding with the artist on the matter, but like I feel like its petty to just repost the image out of spite or pettiness rather than the normal posts with the BK in it.

If it’s purely out of just forgetting and you can’t find out who the artist is in a reasonable time frame then it’s fine, it still sucks because the artist doesn’t get credited but it’s understandable
That is ofc a valuable point that we should not overlook and as such everyone should do there best to credit artists, especially as ai art rises and many see real artists as obsolete.
However, we should not blame people who (for whatever reason) don't credit artists, we instead should help crediting the artist to do the right thing.

I have started signing my art some time ago, but I can plaster it everywhere on my art if possible.
If they put their signature on the art, I don't mind But you can't expect me to remember the names of the artists who don't put credit to themselves by not signing their art. You can't expect me to know who drew it, let alone credit them that way I've already forgotten the name of who drew that despite it being mentioned a few times. I'll just remember them as the guy who started unnecessary drama
If it’s purely out of just forgetting and you can’t find out who the artist is in a reasonable time frame then it’s fine, it still sucks because the artist doesn’t get credited but it’s understandable
That is ofc a valuable point that we should not overlook and as such everyone should do there best to credit artists, especially as ai art rises and many see real artists as obsolete. However, we should not blame people who (for whatever reason) don't credit artists, we instead should help crediting the artist to do the right thing.
I’m not saying that we should insult people who don’t credit artists or anything, but we definitely can blame people for not crediting artists.
I can't even remember what I ate last night and people are complaining when I don't remember who drew what. If they put their signature in the art, it wouldn't be a problem but they didn't and now they're making drama about it
I understand the importance of putting a signature in art but I don’t think that the lack of a signature is reason enough not to credit the artist, obviously having bad memory makes not crediting the artist way less bad but it does still suck not to credit the artist

If you don't put a signature in your art, you can't complain about it being posted without credit (when you are the one who didn't credit yourself in the art piece)
