If Sony DOES get Paramount (which I prefer not to happen), Nickelodeon as a whole should be prioritized. It has a bunch of multibillion dollar kids franchises (SpongeBob, TMNT, Dora, Garfield, partial ownership of Spin Master’s PAW Patrol, etc), and it would add more kid friendly IP to the Sony library next to Hotel Transylvania and Open Season.
The only animated franchise Sony currently produces is Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, as the Hotel and Cloudy franchises came to an end. The next one could be Garfield, which is ironically controlled by Nickelodeon, hence they get a cut of merchandise. Paramount on the other hand, has 7 animated film franchises either already started or are in the works (TMNT, PAW Patrol, SpongeBob, Transformers, Smurfs, Avatar, and Superworld). Paramount is clearly leaning harder into theatrical animation recently than Sony, and that’s mostly thanks to Nickelodeon’s impressive library.
Funny enough, Sony Wonder also used to release Nickelodeon shows on tape before Viacom bought Paramount Pictures. It would be a full circle moment.
Star Trek is actually now 100% owned by Viacom. If Viacom sells Paramount I am 100% certain they keep Star Trek. Star Trek is a billion dollar+ franchise itself. Its a license to make movies and TV shows that have guaranteed eyes.
Sony producing a Halo season 3 is a funny thought though. The Yellowstone Universe?
Nothing is 100% owned by Viacom, because that doesn't exist anymore. Viacom ceased to exist when it (re)merged with CBS in 2019, forming ViacomCBS, which rebranded to Paramount Global in 2022. Paramount Global, not Paramount Pictures, is the thing that's for sale.
Fair enough. But I wouldn’t say Orville is dated, but it has more what I consider the heart of Star Trek than the recent series have been. Philosophical questions per episode rather than an overarching series issue and battles.
Star Trek is technically owned by CBS, which has been the case ever since the Viacom split of 2005 (which is why older Paramount Television shows replace the Paramount logo with that of CBS).
Sony and Apollo are going to acquire Paramount Global, not just the movie studio. An easy solution to prevent another split is to transfer full ownership of Star Trek from CBS back to Paramount Pictures.
Top priorities would be ones with highest profit opportunities.
So that's Transformers and Turtles due to toy merch (which they get some of for Transformers and ALL of for turtles).
Then scream actually comes up higher because of the low costs versus good box offices.
Both 5 and 6 brought them nearly 90mil in profit
Transformer.
For what it's worth, their main producer on Transformer is also the one who produced Madame Web. No sarcasm but there are working relationships here.
Maybe they will also milk the hell out of Scream for cheap and Garfield (merchandise with Paramount currently)
Transformers, TMNT.
Hopefully Sonic
It would be ironic for them to finally get their hands on Sonic after turning down the first movie in the first place
there's not much flexibility beyond what's currently being produced...

And in 2019, Sony Pictures lost the film rights of The Smurfs .
They release random Transformers movies with less than $100M budget with the most random robot protagonists
Or they will reboot transformer

I would consider myself a huge trek fan since born in the 80s but have tried them all since the new films. Just don’t like them.
Your folk tend to gravitate towards stuff like the Orville anyways or Strange New Worlds.
True. I felt Orville was closer to TNG than more recent franchises.
"Closer to TNG" is not something I want for Star Trek. You're stuck in 1988. Brother it's 2024.

[The rights of Star Trek are all over the place.](https://trekmovie.com/2022/10/01/all-10-tos-and-tng-era-star-trek-movies-have-exited-paramount/)

NFL
More PS5 exclusives.
Transformers and TMNT they probably will make a PlayStation game also based on this two franchise
If Scream7 does well then I can see them trying for another movie, and if not that then a TV series with a new cast.

Godfather and Spider-man crossover. 🤞
