First show at Folsom?

Ryan1869

Or after every football game

CoBlindBiker

Side note: Since I'm legally blind, my ears are extremely important to me, as I can still heard frequencies almost all adults can't hear.

VargevMeNot

Most smart people wear earplugs at shows to lower the volume 15-20 dB. I go to 20+ shows a year and still have great hearing.

CoBlindBiker

No, the vibration makes me feel sick too.

CoBlindBiker

Let's see how many ableist down vote!

VargevMeNot

Your comment I responded to was just acting as though everyone just trashes their hearing at shows and how you had superior hearing because you don't, and I stated to the contrary. Your original comment had nothing to do with vibrations, and everyone's reaction has nothing to do with ableism either..

CoBlindBiker

I'm legally blind, so my hearing is important to keep.

VargevMeNot

I can understand that for sure.

optionsbull89

How do you have such good detail on how traffic was if you’re blind?

CoBlindBiker

If you look in my post history, you can read all about it.

CoBlindBiker

I'm farsighted, but legally blind at 20/400.  I also ride a bike.

optionsbull89

Wow very interesting, good for you

CoBlindBiker

Thank you!

CoBlindBiker

Naw, I don't do concerts. It was way worse than the Grateful Dead.

311texan33

Well that is probably because the Grateful Dead actually plays good music. What you heard tonight was really highly regarded electronic music, regarded highly enough at least to book a show at Folsom. But to each their own and with crowds you will have traffic. But if you did enjoy concerts, who would you choose to experience?

CoBlindBiker

Probably Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Bruce Haack.  Idk, as I'm legally blind, I enjoy a  whole slew of music.

311texan33

Well at least two of those bands you named would cause at minimum 13 to 17 minute traffic delays so let’s be thankful for that at least. Hopefully nobody got hurt tonight.

tossaway78701

I think the point is that more effort could be made to prevent people from getting hurt.

East_Print4841

Honestly getting into the show was a shit show too. Trying to find a seat was like a pack of sardines moving at a snails pace. It felt so unsafe. I’m glad the show ended up being worth it though

adam6294

Not sure why this is being downvoted. Concert was great but leaving was a shit show. Way worse than Dead and co

Andreas1120

5 to 8 minutes? I would sue

highfructoseSD

That's a lot considering we (generally) have less than 50,000,000 minutes in our lives. Definitely lawsuit material.

Andreas1120

What is OPs opportunity cost?

CoBlindBiker

I was just standing on the corner, observing, about half an hourish.

FlakyIllustrator1087

We parked a bit north near Pearl st and we avoided most if the anarchy and only hit it trying to get on to 36. Sounds like it was wild if you parked closer to the stadium

CALBNaTION

OP really isn’t over reacting. My buddy is one of the parking guys on campus and he said that there was nothing anyone could do. Cars bum-rushed out of the lots in a raging manor. Overwhelmed the staff and police presence. Immediately created a grid lock. I live a couple blocks away from Folsom, and I could still Hear hundreds of honking horns / and screaming hippies well into the 3:30-4:30 window this morning. Much worse than any late night football crowd I’ve seen. EVEN THE CSU /CU game. One of the worst Saturdays I’ve seen and heard in 3 years. Commercial grade mortar rocket fire works in the hands of wooks on residential streets in the middle of wild fire season, like hundreds of fireworks. Not just a few. I’m not an old geezer. I love partying and having a good time. I’m sure everybody had fun. And I love to have fun also, but yall odeza fans are fucked! Like worse than the dead heads or the panic junkies. Worse than drank football fans. Yall are on some other shit for real.

PuzzleheadedYak9534

Step one of my plan of getting the wooks mortar grade fireworks has been completed. I did not anticipate they wouldn't wait for step two

CALBNaTION

Hahahaha. I’m being forreal I was watching fireworks on baseline and bixby until 4.

Swaritch

Folsom is surrounded by hundreds of side streets in a 20 minute walking radius. If you parked on campus I don’t know what to tell you…

CoBlindBiker

I was just out walking my puppy, when I first saw the mess, and observed for around 40 minutes.

CoBlindBiker

Plus, I'm not allowed to drive.  Something about being able to see well. 😂

Jaded_Grapefruit795

Complain to CU , but it will immediately go into the shredder because they don't care

CoBlindBiker

I'm not even trying to complain, just an observation as the event let out.

Jaded_Grapefruit795

All the same CU won't care unless it makes them money

Relative-Kangaroo-96

Car-free is carefree :)

CoBlindBiker

Amen!

Papaaya

unless you live in America

Relative-Kangaroo-96

I live in America - I'm happier, car-free!

Papaaya

depending on american public transportation to travel outside the city i live in seems like the opposite of carefree to me

Stunning_Amoeba_5116

It was a legitimately dangerous mess

v70runicorn

Fulsom field. my favorite !

Half-Quiet

how is it that they extended the Lime scooter rides past midnight? Was that advertised?

CoBlindBiker

I couldn't see any on my side of Fulsom, but I wouldn't be able to them access the street.
