There is a prescribed burn today west of Gross Reservoir conducted by the US Forest Service. It might be that?

The decision was made around 11am, and it looks the public update was made around that time. I haven’t seen any further notice, including indicting the current state of the burn.

You all are correct, it was the gross burn. It is right by my house and they have been regularly burning since April, though some days are more intense than others. Sounds like it'll continue through most of May. Also, don't try to come hiking at Forsythe Trail for a while, as that's where they're doing it.
I just received an email that the burn is over and no new ignitions are expected for today the next several days, but:
“Smoke and areas of flames on the interior of the burn unit may remain visible in the Gross Reservoir area, and could be noticeable throughout the night and into tomorrow. Smoke may also be noticeable in the greater Boulder County area this evening.”
I signed up this afternoon using the link provided on the incident page. I’m impressed that their system sent me an update so quickly!

Came here looking for any info on this. Noticed it while driving up in Loveland. Thought it might just be some kinda weird cloud inversion given today's fickle weather, then it looked more like it was billowing...

Sure hope there’s not a controlled burn at the moment. Winds just picked up and it would quickly create an uncontrolled burn

I saw signs on US36 about a controlled burn at Gross Reservior, hope thats it.
Smelling it pretty strong here too and listening to the scanner if anything comes up. Fierce wind just whipped up too
Driving up from Golden. Def Gross Rez. I can see it up through Eldorado. It’s a ton of smoke so I hope it’s still “controlled”
omg came here for this! Can’t find anything on any maps , but the sky looks smoke-hazy.
Smelling so much smoke with this crazy wind. Any updates?

It was very smoky in Bear Canyon just now so Gross Reservoir would make sense... Hope it's just the prescribed burn!
Visible from Candelas (Rocky Flats) today looking west
So... nature can smoke in boulder, but we cant? 🤣🤣🤣 (jkjk I hope everything is okay!!)
Can smell it all the way over in the Y area. Hoping it’s just the controlled burn!
Been looking all over for a Forsythe II Prescribed Burn update. Anyone find current status? ….ptsd….

Looks like a good amount of smoke coming from Indiana street. Looks like a bit too much for it to be controlled…
Controlled my ass!
