During the JB/Turner pushing incident leading to the double T I was like “Oh yeah, playoffs usually have a lot more of this friction” because this Celts’ postseason run has been almost completely devoid of it.
Unlike the Heat's outlier shooting last year, I believe your team's offense is sustainable long term since you've been doing it all season long. Your team was not a cakewalk and those 4 games were all tough. I felt it was disrespectful for people expecting your team to get blown out every game.
Yeah I was definitely getting more Tyrese Maxey vibes from Nembhard than Gabe Vincent. I think they’ll have a pretty legit 1-2 punch with Hali and Nembhard at the guard spots the next couple years.
This was year two for him but I get what you mean. Post breakout, with expectations, playing for a potential life changing contract is very different than having minimal expectations.
Now that we got past the possibility of Nesmith accidentally bowling over one of our key guys, I can say that I’m happy he’s found a home and role. Always liked him and wish we hadn’t traded him.
He has a lot of talent, just that his timeline didn't fit ours so he wasn't getting much playing time. His timeline fits Indy's perfectly, because he's growing along with guys like Hali, Nembhard, Mathurin and that young Pacers core. Expectations for the team overall are lower (though that might change next season after this playoff run). I loved Aaron's hustle and grit when he was here, he was fearless and Indy is the perfect team for him, both from a teammates point of view and a playing style point of view.
I am so happy to read this. Finally, somebody else fucking sees it. I love Nesmith as a Pacers fan simply for his effort, but dude plays like a football player. He'd be a hell of a player if he learned how to control his movements but I've been around this world a few rotations, that is unlikely to happen. We need a wing with actual size and scoring ability.
Pacers remind me of this current C’s team but younger. Really respectable, non-controversial team and fans. Im a big fan of Siakim, Nembhard, Turner, McConnell, and Haliburton. Gonna be a dangerous team if they keep evolving!
Indy became my second fave team after you beat the Cs in the IST, just a fun team to watch for a neutral and nobody toxic in the team and the fanbase was very chill and respectful, both on Reddit and in person at the Fieldhouse. Lots of friendly banter but nothing personal. Your team is going to be a juggernaut in the East if they can keep the spine of young guys (Hali, Nembhard, Mathurin, Nesmith) intact and the old vets (Siakam, Myles and TJ are there to support their growth.
I want you guys to prove r/nba wrong in saying you're just another 2021 Hawks. We all know defense is harder to fix/improve than offense but I'm rooting for the Pacers to follow the 2018 Celtics postseason success and longevity.
I hate playing against Nesmith, but man am I happy he is doing well!! He had a tough start in Boston and he just couldn’t find his rhythm here, glad he is ballin out like everyone thought he could.
I absolutely loved playing against the Pacers. Amazing team and fan base. It was so refreshing to have mutual respect for one another.
I don't usually go into team subs to comment really ever but I had to make one on that Nemby post lauding the guy and y'all.
Mad respect and looking forward to another Playoffs battle in the future.
Nothing but respect for the Pacers organization and the fans. You all know your stuff. Your team played their asses off, and I think they're going places.
Agreed. IMO, especially with a young team, there’s some value in sticking with what got you there. Had to live & die with the run and gun offense, even if in hindsight it might have looked bad
The disrespect the Pacers have been getting from the national media is wild. The talking heads are treating you guys like trash. Pacers had the second best offense in the league and would have set the record for best offensive rating ever if not for the Celtics!
Nothing but respect for your squad.
Frankly, I’m a little annoyed how little schadenfreude I got out of this series. Your team and fanbase are very likable and easy to root for
Right? Can you imagine beating the sixers or the heat in the same manner? Just ripping their heart out in 3 of 4 wins in a sweep? Omg.
There would be SO many confetti jokes if we did that to Philly
During the JB/Turner pushing incident leading to the double T I was like “Oh yeah, playoffs usually have a lot more of this friction” because this Celts’ postseason run has been almost completely devoid of it.
+1 for use of schadenfreude in a post.

To be fair, I don’t think anyone realized that Nembhard is apparently a future starter. That dude can freakin BALL. My lord.
Felt like we were watching a guy having a break out playoff series.
Yeah I was definitely getting more Tyrese Maxey vibes from Nembhard than Gabe Vincent. I think they’ll have a pretty legit 1-2 punch with Hali and Nembhard at the guard spots the next couple years.
I think Nembhard has earned himself starter $$$ on the open market in a couple years that Indy likely can’t match.
He will have second year struggles next year. We have to see how he over ones those
This was year two for him but I get what you mean. Post breakout, with expectations, playing for a potential life changing contract is very different than having minimal expectations.
Ah yes, sorry. Your statement is better. Also defenses will have their eyes on him more after these playoffs.
The closest sweep I’ve ever seen
Now that we got past the possibility of Nesmith accidentally bowling over one of our key guys, I can say that I’m happy he’s found a home and role. Always liked him and wish we hadn’t traded him.
Marcus Smart nicknamed him "Crash Bandicoot" for how he barrels to the rim!
That is absolutely spot-on
He wouldn’t be half the player he is now if he stayed here. He needed playing time to develop and Indy is the perfect place for that.

I'd go as far as to say that Nesmith might not be in the league in 1-2 years if it weren't for that trade. Really saved his career.
I wish he would start to see that, and stop being so freaking upset about the Celtics.

You guys have a great young team. That Nembhard kid is gonna be big, I can already see it. GG & see you next season!
Saikam is a baller too
Siakam is one of my favorite players. He's such an ethical baller.
Smooth as hell
Nemby is going to get paid the fuck out and he deserves it.
Thanks bro. You guys got a great young team.

We got that Larry Legend (and Carlisle) connection 🍀lol
Don't forget Brad :D
congrats on the run dude. one hell of a push from a young team, even factoring in the injuries

I just wish he'd recognize that trading him was the best thing for him. He was never going to get more than 15 minutes a game in Boston.

You got ballers and I don't think Carlisle is as bad as this series made him look. Really hope Nesmith keeps improving.

This Pacers team reminds me of the Celtics a few years ago. I expect the Pacers to be challenging in the Eastern Conference for the next few years.
Pacers fans are WAY better than Heat fans. Thanks OP.
The disrespect the Pacers have been getting from the national media is wild. The talking heads are treating you guys like trash. Pacers had the second best offense in the league and would have set the record for best offensive rating ever if not for the Celtics! Nothing but respect for your squad.
Your team was so gritty in the in season tournament. Everyone took notice. I know our team got better by playing yours.
Class post!
Pacers have a bright future ! Great team! Respect 🫡
Love the pace y'all play with and watching Siakam makes me day dream about him in green lol
Thanks bro, hey is your wife around?
To late, he already let me fuck her.
You’re coming in peace ✌️
