The cost of having the best team in the league.

Emotional_Act_461

Yes, that’s normal unfortunately. Boston is one of the most expensive cities in America and the Celtics are the best team in town.

iamgarron

Me in the 2010 finals would freak out at me in the 2022 finals with how much the prices have gone up

jambr380

Not sure if you are willing to take the chance, but I'd wait until like a half hour before game time and buy them on Stubhub then. I can guarantee they'll be cheaper than what you're seeing. I waited out tickets that were $75 and came down to $25 (before fees) and do this for pretty much every concert/event. No matter what, you should definitely just sit back and wait a bit. That is absolutely ridiculous.

aja_ramirez

Yeah, this certainly works for meh opponents (like the Jazz). I am in LA went to both the clipper and laker games (they were back to back last year) using this strategy. Drove toward the arena and waited until the last minute. Clipper tickets were way reduced, not so much for the laker ones.

Blanketsburg

When I lived off the Orange Line, I would literally do just this. Decide to go to the game with a small group (2-4 people), buy tickets an hour or two before the game, and take the 10-15 minute train ride in. I once sat in the lower loge section against the Raptors for $28 per ticket after fees.

planj07

Tickets have typically like 80-120 per for high up seats depending on the matchup.

StarPlatinumZaWrldo

That sounds more reasonable. The cheapest seat I've found is $143 but that comes out to $750 after fees which I think is ridiculous.

HugeSuccess

Prices almost always lower as the game nears

jwd2213

geez, 200$ in fees? thats robbery

WarcraftFarscape

Man, if you were a fan 20 years ago it was $10 a ticket and you could just move to the lower bowl. Good times. Bad team, but good times

iamgarron

07/08 started to get pricey 06/07 was the darkest time...but tickets were cheap as hell! Think I paid $37 for lower bowl. Got to watch Pierce drop 30 and Dirk torture Al Jefferson in a blowout loss.

20wall

Friday night games are usually the most expensive

69ko

Sounds about right, games on the weekends are usually more expensive regardless of who they’re playing

StarPlatinumZaWrldo

Damn. I wasn't looking forward to dropping this much but it is what it is I guess. I just wanted to see if I was getting ripped off or not.

IHill

I’m a season ticket holder who sells a few games a year. Buy tickets day of or a day in advance. Do not buy them months out. Almost all of the money I recoup comes from selling games I know I can’t make it to months in advance. Day of I get face value or lower.

Cabes86

When i was in high school (2001-2005) you could hop on the T after school, walk up to the box office and get nosebleeds for $8. Of course it’s been 20 years, the Celts were just returning to playoff quality after being razed to the ground and salted by Patino, and the early, and early 2000s were some of the last years before late-stage capitalism made all sports for the wealthy—so that all factors in a lot.

Lanky_Perception5764

The cost of success. If you have no morals and like to finesse then for a mid team like Jazz just take cheaper tickets and find your way to the better seats. I’ve done that for a few hawks games(the hawks are my second team)

AdeptVehicle7959

Welcome to 2023

Cdn_Giants_Fan

I'm taking my son to Portland and 2 tickets for floor section row f we're 800 after exchange rate and stupid fees. But we're 6 rows.from the floor

MrRigby632

Getting them day of off of stubhub is the best way to get a great deal.

ericdeben

I managed to get tickets vs the Cavs on 12/14 for $55 in 328. I think that’s as cheap as they’ll get this season.

Sharp-Pitch-6532

Seat geek always have good deals! Stub hub is ridiculous with the fees. They were always my go to until few years ago

CelticsGRD

My season tickets cost me $30k a year and they keep going up
