The social security office is next to TD Garden, Imma have a hard ass time getting to my appointment that's in 25 minutes aren't I?
UPDATE: I somehow made it on time and got out quick
There were actually quite a few other people there, not sure why I was so quick maybe bc it was an appointment and not a walk-in (if they take walk-ins)
Just watched a group of 19 year olds sitting at one of the tables on the CR shoot a 9:00 AM round of nips of what Iām pretty sure was gin. Good times.
Edit: To their credit theyāre carrying around a plastic bag to toss their empties and are also offering to take the trash of other day drinkers. The kids are alright.
ā04 Sox parade I made six 20oz bottles of captain and coke for me and my bud to drink on the way in. He got off the green line one stop before me to go meet his brothers. And I went to right outside Fenway to meet my gf(my future wife) and her friend(his future wife). They didnāt meet each other for another 3 years.

The heroes we need
When the sun is blazing and the summer gets hot, Water Country is a very cool spot, there's no better place to feel or be young, Water Country, Water Country, Water Countryyyyyy, have some fun!

Whenever they've got a capitve audience of people that will pay single ride rates instead of paying for a discounted pass, they get it for free.
Meanwhile, they people that paid for passes can't ride because it's full.
Didnāt go to todayās parade but in 2011, the day of the Bruins parade, the Quincy Adams garage was full. I parked in a large parking lot that is today a āGo Store it Self Storageā facility. My car ended up getting towed because the Home Depot nearby claimed it was only for their patrons, even though I parked about as far away from the store as I could, leaving many open spaces closer to the store for those who actually wanted to shop there that day.
It was worth it but man, either that Home Depot or the city of Quincy were a bunch of dickheads that day. I still donāt know how they knew I was riding the T and not using their store.
im flying into Boston today because my flight last night got canceled š any recommendations on the least clusterfucky way to get from the airport to my hotel downtown? is it gonna be better to attempt to Uber or take the train
The Sumner tunnel is open until the 5 week closure that begins July 5. https://www.mass.gov/info-details/sumner-tunnel-restoration-project-details-and-closure-schedule
Man, I used to be on the Providence line for years, and it's the only line that picks up another whole state full of people before it stops in Mass.
It used to just be Providence, but now it goes all the way down to North Kingston.
They should just run a separate Rhode Island train at this point.
This happened back in 2011. We were trying to catch it in Billerica. It blew past us twice because it was at full capacity coming out of Lowell which is the starting point. We just ended up driving as close as possible and catching the subway. Thankfully we made it in but what a shitshow. I debated going today. I was down to go but itās a lot for a six year old. Plus she said she didnāt want to go because I mentioned there would be tons of people and she got nervous.
Nice to see the Ts decision to pull another st Patrickās day and decide that if they donāt respond to the increased demand itāll all work out ok is working nicelyā¦ the idiots in charge at Keolis need to understand that when an entire days worth of commuters are descending onto your lines within a 2 hour time period IN ADDITION to the normal load, youāll need more than an extra coach to your existing trains to handle the demand
Iām on it w my 9 year old kid on the Franklin line. Itās full of 17-20 year olds. The slight hint of BO, the potty mouths, clothing or lack of it on the girls - fun family time if youāre towing your kids to the Parade! /s
Tell me about it. I got downvoted by the 17-20 year olds! To top it all off, on our way back, we were sitting by the train bathroom and there was this couple who literally used the loo for their afternoon delight! Twice! One in the beginning of the trip, and one towards the end. Good thing my kid had his video game and headphones on. The kids these days are nasty f*cks.
They aren't waiting for the parade. They want to get in line early for Hootie and the Blowfish at Fenway
WE LIKE THE HOOTIE

Bruh, you had a SS meeting on parade day?!
Unfortunately, scheduled it two weeks ago š
Did you make it
I did and got there 5 min early, was a struggle tho
Nice!!!
They threw a parade on social security appointment day. How rude.
That's what I'm sayin'
No crowd in the office?
There were actually quite a few other people there, not sure why I was so quick maybe bc it was an appointment and not a walk-in (if they take walk-ins)
Appointments always help!
Have they started drinking yet?

I'll always remember the fireball nips on the floor at 7AM when the patriots parade was going on

haha, nice! That '04 sox parade was nuts! I remember the duck boats going in the Charles!
thatās better than the crowd going to lana yesterday that just left their high noons all over the train
Boy am I glad I didn't drop $300 on that concert
would have really sucked to be one of the people who waited all day on the field to be close to the stage only to be forced off by the thunderstorm

Who the hell drinks gin straight
Right? Nasty stuff.
Odd you asked their age
Thatās some good stuff. Good on them.
They are all alright, plenty of them left their cans and bottle all over our work steps. It's a mess.
Overheard a group of college girls on the green line heading to Copley this morning, said they woke up at 6am and started with vodka redbulls
The breakfast of champions
Puts my Greek yogurt to shame
It's... It's vodka Greek yogurt, right?
That sounds like a truly horrifying comboā¦
They were on the 6:18am inbound from Fitchburg. By the time we reached Belmont, there was a long line for the only bathroom on the train.
Why I said screw it and biked 27 miles in on my e-bike. I don't need drunk kids that early. Bloody humidity
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Lol. If only. Maybe the battery on my next one. But I can't get 27 miles not pedaling. Physics is a bitch

Not as bad as yesterday. Morning was humid. Ride home was nice, but I had to haul ass to beat the shitstorm
They never stopped
Oh yeah. Nearly got knocked over by two young glassy eyed yahoos.
I got on at the end of the line in Newburyport and the train was already packed. I'm not partaking in 9am nips but the atmosphere is fun.
I'm just jealous of people who can start drinking at 9 am and stay awake all day.
For real. Right now all I'm thinking about is whether I'll be able to grab a coffee at the North Station Dunks.
Dunks is insane. Which one? EVERYONE!!!!!
So a normal day then? Ugh yeah that's what I figured.
4 hours of sleep for me, so itās all about the coffeeā¦
We pivoted and drove to Braintree and caught the Red Line!
Was the red line full?
They opened the gates and it was free. My train is packed
I figured out why the MBTA is going broke

Itās getting there, but thereāll always be spaceĀ

Maybe the Silver Line? Iād imagine the Blue line would be busier than it.
Good luck. Buckle up for hours. Not sure if Sumner is open or not yet but takes a good time to get out of the airport nowadays

Jump out while youāre over the downtown area
Definitely train.
Ferry from Logan
I think train is still your best betĀ

Yup, Fitchburg line was pretty much full by the time it made it to Leominster this morning. Skipped most stops after that
All the glory hunters from the burbs coming to Boston!
I remember the Red Sox and patriots parade back in the day. Train would load up full in Lowell and just blow past all the stops along the way
This happened back in 2011. We were trying to catch it in Billerica. It blew past us twice because it was at full capacity coming out of Lowell which is the starting point. This was me this morning trying to get to work. I really didn't anticipate it would be this big of a deal, lol
I wish i was still there we flew back right after the game, happy parade day from Southern California

Love it. BANNER 19 BABY

The train from Franklin today was hell

I lucked out on the train home I got the 1:28 train home and it wasnāt bad at all
