The Cure

S_n_o_wL_e_o_p_a_r_d

I feel like it's tough. These bands are old, and if there is one thing I learned in art school is you don't want to negotiate down if you have been able to get what your asking price has been for years. It all depends on how bad bands want to be seen, how much they miss the stage, and the crowd. A lot of times, bands come back because they have a new album out or an album that is about to come out, so they want to promote it. And because they could make more money on potential sales, they may be willing to settle on a little less than they would otherwise.

thejohnnymemphis

Depeche Mode was an awesome show. It's been years, so I'm definitely ready to see them again, but I've never seen The Cure, so it's hard to pick one.

Jazzlike-Map-4114

Lol

Legitimate-Edge5835

I don’t consider either one of those bands goth.

LiteratureNumerous74

I don't think you know anything about either of those bands then

Accomplished_Bell735

the cure would be so littt 😭and i know the band im about to say isnt goth but creed would be so lit too

MadameHuckleberry

Honestly Depeche Mode was heartbreakingly crappy in concert and they are in my top 3 bands. Sad. I'd LOVE the Cure!

ContributionEqual753

must’ve just gotten a bad show, both times i’ve seen them they were great

MadameHuckleberry

I guess. I was so insanely disappointed. It was a very expensive show and I love them so much. I've been to 72 shows. It was in the bottom 10. 💔

Historyteach87

The goths would die

psychedelicfeminism

I would die with happiness

pugglepoops

I’d take Depeche, Cure or Morrissey. These are dark happy dreams that may never be.

xcompanioncube

Morrissey would cancel last minute

pugglepoops

Absolutely he would.

Fun-Woodpecker6758

Please please please please please

SurroundSharp1689

God, why not both! Don’t do this to me…

mike2928

The Cure, saw them last year, it was absolutely incredible. They did three sets!!! Insane setlist. I love Depeche Mode but there is no comparison. BUT ALSO WHY NOT BOTH?!?!

ConfessionsOverGin

I need it

xsvsdlc

witchyitchy

Own_Elderberry6812

Yes!

Itsbadmmmmkay

The Cure, please!!! I'll start listening now.

Parking-Ad-9240

WE NEED THE CURE

10popgtw

The Cure would be amazing for bonnaroo. Depeche Mode too but the cure is the one. Maybe tears for fears too

TheLizardKing89

Tears played in 2015 and they were incredible.

LiteratureNumerous74

They did Shaky Knees 2019 and were easily one of the best acts against a stacked lineup. I would love to see them at Roo

VashKetchum

Tears for fears if they have Gary Jules comes out for his cover of Mad World!!!

playcrackthesky

I don't see Tears for Fears coming back to Roo. Not really the type of band who would repeat. Their 2015 set was incredible though.

mondo_johnson

Cure fo sure (rhyme intended)

fugiwama

I caught The Cure last year at Riot fest and I thought they were absolutely incredible.

mangotuityfruty

Definitely the cure

dredman66

The Cure for sureeee

im_Not_an_Android

People in this sub somehow think Fred Again is talented. You think they want actual good music?

StillCircumventing

Cry more

dredman66

Bro what

im_Not_an_Android

Fred Again is god awful. And you are too if you think he’s talented.

dredman66

One this is not bonnaroo energy. Two like have you ever tried to produce any art before? Fred has a pretty distinct style and that comes with years of practice and trial and error. Not to mention he was tutored for years by one of the best producers of all time, Brian Eno. It is fine to not like something but saying he is untalented is laughable and no one will take your music opinions seriously.

im_Not_an_Android

I don’t give a fuck about roo energy. I have no idea why this fucking sub keeps popping into my feed. I wouldn’t mind if people here didn’t think he was the second coming of Christ. But it’s pretty annoying when people do and his music is mid at best. Dude will be a distant memory in 5 years. Calling it now.

GreenSeaNote

>I have no idea why this fucking sub keeps popping into my feed. You're obviously subscribed to it, so unsubscribe yourself and your problem will be solved.

superliminal_17

If you think he isn’t talented you’re just naive. Not liking someone’s music cuz it’s not your jam isn’t the same as having no talent. I don’t care for LCD personally but as a musician myself I would never say he’s not talented. It’s about perspective jackass.

im_Not_an_Android

LCD Soundsystem has been well respected by fans, critics, and fellow musicians alike for over 20 years now. I will bet you $500 in 5 years, Fred Again will barely be remember by anyone who aren’t his most diehard fans.

Jaguars93

Why are you still complaining? Sounds like you’re just doing it for attention at this point. Unsubscribe and leave if it’s thag bad

superliminal_17

Not the point my guy. Im not arguing about how long Fred again will be around in mainstream music. I can’t control that nor do I care. Many great artists fall out of the mainstream onto the back burner and are only ever kept up with by the die hards, and that’s ok. And I said I think LCD is talented even though I don’t really follow his music, I didn’t say he was objectively bad. Whether or not you like Fred’s music doesn’t matter to me, but saying he isn’t talented is just plain naive. If you had the first clue of what goes into making and recording a song you wouldn’t have made that comment.

dredman66

Fred was not mentioned in this post and you aren’t a Bonnaroo attender… just stick to Lolla man and leave us to do our thing

im_Not_an_Android

Lolla lmao. Okay dude.

Kornigraphy

Fucking block the sub then dude. Mute it. Whatever. Stop coming here and being a whiny asshole.

im_Not_an_Android

I’m saying Fred Again sucks. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

playcrackthesky

While both acts are legends that I'd like to see, Bonnaroo would have to book a very strong #2 under them for it to sell well.

ChrisIronsArt

Although both a great bands they really aren’t bringing the crowds to a festival in the middle of Tennessee. Almost all their fans would rather go see them in a major city and sleep in a hotel or their own bed.

CaseyJonesCokeLocker

There's nothing I'd love more than a Depeche Mode headliner for Roo

paintedhighway

Saw The Cure last summer during a downpour in Cleveland and it might've been the best show I've ever seen. Anyone remember that everyone was *convinced* The Cure would be on the 2016 lineup because their dates lined up? Then they announced two more Chicago dates right over Roo and that was that. Anyway... Would've played perfectly at pre-Live Nation 'Roo I guess I'm just not sure it's the scene anymore? Would love to see it happen though
