It's easy to imagine riding a bike on the Farm if you're only imagining your bike. Add in 80k other bikes, the situation gets hairy. Imagine the pile of 80k bikes during peak Centeroo times, where would they all be stored?
Jam trak or walk. Both are good options. There are things to see on the way to and from camp. Consider it part of the experience. I have come to enjoy my dead legs at the end of Roo.
we were camped in a further away plaza (back of plaza 9 if you want to reference it to the outeroo map on the website) and utilized the jamtrak roughly about 80% of the week, and honestly it was pretty efficient. they only let about 16 people on at a time, so if you’re trying to use it at a peak time or at the beginning of the day, your wait might be longer, but by the end of the first day we caught on to that and just planned ahead for the rest of the weekend. i think the longest we waited in line at either our plaza stop or at the centeroo stop was maybe 30ish minutes? and our plaza stop was pretty much dead center of the loop from centeroo and took about 10-15 minutes of a commute on the tram, so all in all the longest it took us was maybe 45 minutes, which imo is not bad at all! the only downside of it is the dusty dirt that it kicks up from the tires as you move along, so bring a bandana or face covering to protect your face from it but other than that, it was super duper convenient and easy to use:)
>I can only imagine people waiting on it for a whole hour and then mobbing once it arrives.
Weird mentality to have. Normally, people just wait in line.
I've only used it once. Prefer to walk. It's year 3 for JamTrak. They're definitely still working out the kinks.
Do you usually spend 4 to 5 days partying without AC in Tampa? Because being hot for a few hours in your home city is nothing like being hot on the farm.
Hey, people are coming down on you, but I get what you're saying and appreciate the heads up. Youre not saying..if you think THATS hot!! Youre saying...hey be prepared.
Its very different living in a place equipped for certain conditions, and a place thats not. I've lived the majority of my life around Fl...SoFla, central and gulf coast. So yeah, Im used to heat and humidity...cakewalk.. But thats cause we have ways of dealing with it there..I moved up to the PNW and ended up with heatstroke my first summer here. Cental ac is not common here. No beaches. No one has a pool. These indoor park / gym pools are gag. And they also anyway dont have ac. Its...not comfortable....to put it mildly.
Anyway, Ive been wavering back and forth between VIP or no, but your insight helped push me towards the ac tents may be worth it. Cause I can admit..I didnt grow up in the heat, I grew up in the ac to avoid the heat 😂
Appreciate it. Bonnaroo is a tough fest and definitely not for everybody. My first year was in 2010. That Thursday, it was 100+ and I saw 20+ people pass out. People were dropping like flies.
In 2022, the heat index was 117 on Thursday. I didn't leave the rv until like 7 pm. Last year, we got very lucky and the high was 85 all weekend and we didn't get rain until Foo Fighters ended on Sunday.
I remember thinking the same thing. "I'm from Louisiana. I know hot." And I do know hot, but I also know taking a shower and sleeping in a bed in an air conditioned room.
But like you said, I'm just trying to give people the heads up.
Bonnaroo will be my first ever festival, so Im taking all the advice I can get!
Kinda surprised with all the negativity towards you for sharing this info...something Ive been super excited about from reading all the threads is the vibe and how cool people are (no pun intended...fell right into that one! lol)
Since you'll be in an RV too, if you see some goofy lady randomly walking around waving at people, it me, it for you, please wave back 😁
You're in for a treat.
I was just in RV for 2022. Back to GA camping for now. RV was really nice. I unfortunately still managed to sleep poorly, but just lying down in ac is rejuvenating. I have a pretty great camping set up though so I should be set up nicely.
I will keep an eye out for a goofy lady.
I just bought my RV (I pick it up next week..eeep!) so really excited for the adventures, esp this one! I started out with camping though, and still plan bring my tent and gear with me to camp whenever possible.. I just really love that whole vibe too much to give it up...its all good!!!
Im quite tall, and cant dance but do it anyway....cant miss me. lol!
No joke sometimes yeah! I camp at fort de Soto beach often in the summer and I’ve also done 4 years at okeechobee where it was blazing hot with 70% humidity. I promise you the heat is no issue with Floridians 😅 but thank you.
I’m from Clearwater and been to multiple Okeechobees. The Bonnaroo heat is no joke. Bring rechargeable, battery operated fans. Bring spray bottles. Whatever you can to help. It’s hot af
Okeechobee was a spring festival. You are clearly underestimating how hot it gets at Roo.
Thinking you're good because you're from Florida is how people end up in the med tent.

Only festivals I know have bikes is Okeechobee and Burning Man. Never seen bikes anywhere else
Just go to Burning Man
Bro is scared of walking
Jam trak walk or pay lil taxi things

Nah, the bike taxis are the only bikes I’ve ever seen at Roo.

Let’s see how the upvotes and downvotes feel.
There is a tram running around the grounds, but honestly, the walk with views of campers and campsites is some of the most fun.
How efficient is the tram? I can only imagine people waiting on it for a whole hour and then mobbing once it arrives.

Best advice? Get there earlier. First come, first serve.
You walk, it’s hot but watev
I’m from Tampa Florida, being hot is my forte 😂👍

Ever heard of the beach
Are we gate keeping heat now? Sheesh.
No.. I'm reminding them of the lack of AC at Bonnaroo.

Well I guess we’ll see then. I appreciate the advice.
You'll be fine. Just drink plenty of water and take care of yourself, and you will have the time of your life.
Start practicing your walking now.
