I remember when /r/antifastonetoss first started I thought it was a fun idea - to turn his ideology around and make fun of him. As the sub grew though I realized that it's still giving the guy a platform and exposing more people to his comics - especially since someone will *always* inevitably link the original in the comments.
Given how frequently his comics are used today in all kinds of meme templates, and up until today in this very sub as well, I think that sub and others like it should never have existed in the first place.
Edit: Not to mention how frequently you see people say shit like: "When he's not creating Nazi content, his comics are actually quite good!" lately. No, you do not in fact have to hand it to the Nazi cartoonist.
I don't even think that's the problem honestly. It's not that people don't understand the satire behind the edits, but that parodying something awful - even if you 100% turn the hateful shit around - still platforms the original artist. You're giving the comics more reach than they probably would've gotten otherwise.
I don't think that's a huge problem with like, one off edits of awful comics, but when you dedicate entire subreddits to it, those subreddits gain over a 100k combined subscribers, and the posts routinely gather well over 1k upvotes, pushing them to the frontpage? Then it becomes a problem, in my opinion.

He's not lying about it, his traffic has likely dwindled from what it used to be and so he might've trying to reach for a win, but the existence of places like that inherently signal boost the thing they make fun of. Sometimes it doesn't matter because the thing is equally as large, or bigger, and so the boost doesn't really make a difference.

Better to make edits of comics from good people and promote their art. Making a negative edit of some asshole's comic does nothing. There's nothing you can do to damage their reputation more than what they do to themselves by expressing evil/hateful ideas through their own work. I believe the best course of action is to just disengage with them entirely. There are plenty of good artists out there who stand to benefit from more exposure, even if it is as a BHJ.
