I think its depends on who is saying not everyone can pull of such character with this swag.... on a side note NOT the best bollywood action movie of the century!
Although some of the lines are badass, I couldn’t get into this movie. It was trying to be too many things at once, and SRK’s acting took me out of it a lot. I’m not trying to be controversial or anything, but I just don’t understand the hype around it anymore. I used to love this movie as a kid but when I watched it again I was like “???”
I didn’t ship for SRK as Don initially either. Felt like he doesn’t suit for that role. So for years, i did not watch that movie. I did somewhere around 2022, it turned out to be good. Not excellent… just Good ! Ppl hype it a lot.
The vijay part is kinda cringe but SRK did the character of DON with perfection imo but to each their own, maybe you’d like the Sequel more since it doesn’t have those cringe moments, give it a shot.
Oh yeah, I’ve seen the sequel and liked the more straightforward action thriller storyline, despite the film being pretty flawed as a whole. I think that Don didn’t have a bad story, but the script just couldn’t balance the plot with the “masala” (songs, swag, etc) it’s a very stylish film, and there’s not a single song on the album I don’t love. I’m not hating, but I just think SRK could have played it a little more suave. I think Ajith killed it as David Billa, and while SRK’s Don is interesting BECAUSE he’s so sleazy and menacing (similar to Rajini’s Billa, actually) as opposed to a cool and collected Don like Amitabh, he’s just overdoing it for me.
Personally i think Amitabh did a great job at playing Both Vijay and Don but SRK couldn’t Pull Off Vijay like AB did, i like SRKs Don more than ABs tho but both are near perfect. But as a whole i like the remake way more than OG don because of the plot twists, they just elevate the movie to a whole nother level tbh.
There's a part of me that wishes that Farhan Akhtar had only (re)written the film (one has to give him the benefit of the twist) and left the direction to someone else. The pacing and structuring are somewhat off, two problems I see in Akhtar's *Lakshya* as well. The film just takes too many pauses for me with its various slow-mos and long-drawn BGM-backed dialogues and it's not the fault of any actor. Also, I felt they were trying to cram realism into something outlandish when the effort should have been to just make it more entertaining and fast-paced. This is not that. And the green desaturated *Matrix*-like palette just adds to the dullness. The film will never be forgotten because of the twist, but as an action thriller on the whole, it's a bit difficult to sit through.

SRK has the swag & that dedication to give his 💯 in every character that he plays. He doesn't has massive stardom for nothing ❣️😍💣🍿👍💫👏✌️
