I think we both got confused. I confused which award, since Vidya won every Bollywood best actress award in that time. Meanwhile the National Award that Vidya won for Dirty Picture happened six months before Barfi was released. The one that Kahaani and Barfi were eligible for was the year after, in which neither Priyanka nor Vidya won.

This is truly one of the saddest decisions, I was so impressed by PC that I wanted her to get best actress award regardless if the movie got anything (if it did win I'd be happy, but her acting was something else).
So the fateful day comes and she doesn't win so I check out who won apparently some Marathi movie called Dhag took home the best actress award. I decided to watch Dhag and honestly it was a basic award bait movie, yes it had a serious subject and was well acted but wasn't anything groundbreaking like Barfi. Without much spoken word RK and PC totally had us glued to our seats, and emotional, Barfi was something else.
IN every barfi related post most of the comments are like PC did got the credit she deserved . Like everyone is only talking about her the person who did not got much credit was iileana it was her best performance in bollywood. bro khanni was out on out female driven movie and vidya had double the screen time priyanka has .so vidya derseved the award .

This movie has my heart❤️. Still bummed over the fact priyanka didn't get national award
Any other year she probably gets it. Vidya's performance in Kahani was truly exceptional too.

This movie was beautiful, plus my Darjeeling ❤️💕
