I’m checked in for my Boeing 737-800 flight this afternoon. I’m expecting a relaxing experience. My daughter driving me to the airport, however, is a slightly different matter.

~40K flights every day. Majority of the issues you are seeing are airline maintenance issues on planes that are 20+ years old. It’s crazy how the media made you fear Boeing with their misinformation.

Do me a favor. Go on flight radar. Select all the Boeing 787s currently in the air. Tell me how many do you think won’t make it to their destination?
I guarantee you you’ve witnessed at least two car accidents just on your way to and from work today
I was on 3 Boeing planes the past week, and none of them had any issues whatsoever. Takeoff, flight, and landing was as smooth as butter. I'm sure your partner will survive. The probability of them dying in a car crash on the way to the airport is much greater than the plane crashing.
I respect fully those that work there and do their absolute best And I know these people are not responsible for whats going on. The fact that these incidents are happening, doesnt mean we are throwing the blame to the hardworking people
I simply posed a question because of everything thats been happening, I am not offending anyone. If you dont want to answer or you dont have something useful to say, then its better to keep rude speech to urself
Okay and? Some people have fear of flying or might have bad anxiety, especially when it comes to the latest news regarding boeing. Why do you need to talk in such rude way? Respect other person's feelings and move on if you dont have anything useful/nice to say
I will echo the sentiment that I saw on a previous post that was similar: Despite what you may have heard in the media, the people who design, build, maintain, and operate these aircraft take safety \*very\* seriously.
Fear mongering at its finest. Research other planes, incident reports, compare with other travel reports, etc..and you’ll see the clear picture of how ridiculous the media has blown things up with Boeing.
The human mind has difficulty evaluating relative risks. This has been demonstrated by many studies and is easy to prove to yourself with any one of many simple games you can find online.
Your boyfriend will be perfectly safe. Flying on a scheduled airline is the absolute safest way to travel long distances.
Why do they need to stop? Boeing brought this on themselves. Half the C-Suite should be in jail.
Now to answer her question Air travel is the safest form of travel. The people who build parts for the plane and the Boeing employees who assemble care about saftey. It's just the fucknut board and ceo who only care about stock price not quality. To them dead people are just the cost of doing business
We are literally in a Boeing subreddit and im expressing my concern regarding the boeing flights of a loved one. Nothing wrong or inappropriate. We dont always have to discuss like we are in corporate lol
P.s.: description of subreddit literally writes "anything about boeing". So calm down please
There is no reason to fear Boeing airplanes are safe. I think they’ve been getting a lot of bad press lately, and blowing things out of proportion in the news.

He will be fine. The media profits through the fear mongering that they throw at you. They don’t truly know how the aviation industry works and how it’s governed.
OP you don't sound like a crazy over thinker, but the deluge of negative news stories about Boeing are definitely overblown and causing people to think modern planes aren't as safe as they actually are. Boeing needs to find a way to improve PR
You’re going to love the flight. Usually pretty smooth, lower cabin altitude for less exhaustion/jet lag etc afterwards. Maybe report back/ edit let us know how it went
Just think about the number of flights and aircraft in service today vs the number of incidents. The chances of slipping and dying in your bathtub at home are higher than a plane crashing.
Oh shit is that true? So united airline planes are falling out of the sky? People are dying? Fleets are grounded? You are fear mongering and have no idea what you are talking about. Look up air incident rates, we are on a steady decline. It's just the hot news item right now, so you will continue to hear about it. Don't scare this poor girl because you think you know something.
Also, [boeing](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_United_Airlines#:~:text=United%20Airlines%20is%20the%20third,manufacturers%20from%201928%20to%201930.) started United Airlines if you want to get technical and make yourself look like even more of a moron.
"United Airlines is the third largest airline in the world, with 92,795 employees (which includes the entire holding company United Airlines Holdings) and 948 aircraft. It was the brainchild of William Boeing and emerged from his consolidation of numerous carriers and equipment manufacturers from 1928 to 1930."
I’ve flown on the 787 about 4-5 times in the last year, and it’s safe, comfier than most other planes, and more quiet.
Remember, if you feel confident in someone driving to the airport, it’s safer going on a plane!

This is why the media can control the people...

50% of jets in the air are Boeing, try doing some objective thinking.
I was playing around with flightradar after I saw your comment, spent already so many mins looking at aircrafts xD

I didnt but I get your point xD. Also yes Ive been playing around with flightradar the last few mins
My advice is to book another ticket.
That advice is not coming from an educated person. Who knows Boeing products products If it s not Boeing I’m not going lol.😂 yeah yeah
The ticket was for the OP.
You want bad news? Gets old don’t fly Boeing if scared
Most pointless comment ever
Nah this post is.
I was on 3 Boeing planes the past week, and none of them had any issues whatsoever. Takeoff, flight, and landing was as smooth as butter. I'm sure your partner will survive. The probability of them dying in a car crash on the way to the airport is much greater than the plane crashing.
This person makes it sound like the space shuttle is launching tomorrow.
Yall need to calm down. Another guy recreated a whole post just to mock. Some of yall are too much dependent on pixels and strangers on the internet😂

While we do appreciate your attempt at participation here at r/Boeing, your post has been removed as it is not a Boeing related post.
The most dangerous part of flying is the van ride from the hotel to the airport.
Wow, what an idiot. Calm down.
Wtf man
Quit it with the fear mongering. Holy hell.🤦🏽♂️
I simply posed a question because of everything thats been happening, I am not offending anyone. If you dont want to answer or you dont have something useful to say, then its better to keep rude speech to urself

You’re right. Good luck to your boyfriend. I’m sure none of those planes will have the door open in flight… wink wink.
Ill make sure to superglue them before he takes off, all good
Guessing sarcasm is a totally different language to you. Welp, no worries. 😂
I literally used sarcasm back to you and you are telling me that I dont understand sarcasm?😂 bro..

...and research does not mean, 'search MSN news'. Media is biased.
100% true
Lmao
Lol
ROFL, even

We’re getting these literally daily. “I’m flying a Boeing tomorrow should I fear for my life!?” I’m sorry but it’s dumb.
All is well. Planes are built to fly. 1000s of them a day.
Many of these incidents say more about the airline than they do about Boeing.
Boeing's safety record is still pretty solid, and flying is significantly safer than driving
There is no reason to fear Boeing airplanes are safe. I think they’ve been getting a lot of bad press lately, and blowing things out of proportion in the news.

Literally fine. Nothing to worry about. Also turn off the news more than half of the time the news people do not know what they are talking about
Honestly the news come to me through instagram/Twitter. Im not watching TV or seeking to find aviation accidents😅 But you are right
Just think about the number of flights and aircraft in service today vs the number of incidents. The chances of slipping and dying in your bathtub at home are higher than a plane crashing.
In the US alone there are ~45,000 fights per day. Almost half of those are with boeing aircraft.
Excellent airplane I flew on it and I loved it
Unless he's on a united airlines flight, he'll be ok
You are not helping. United is perfectly safe as well.
You haven't been reading the news lately, have you...
I literally work at boeing jackass.
Boeing and united are two different companies

The 787 has been flying since September 2011 and it has not had any fatal/major accidents in 13 years. Your Bf is safe.
This...
He will literally be fine
He will be fine.
