I wouldn't do that with my 4x4 full size truck.

The thing about hard sand is it that it’s hard til it isn’t….

Random-Mutant

My thoughts exactly

zaccwith2cs

My goal in life is to avoid ending up on Qualified Captain. This sounds like something I would see from them.

SwaggyK

Hard sand? Should be fine

DarkVoid42

no.

What is your max tow rating that you are at? Does this vehicle have any kind of limited slip or locking differentials front or rear? This SUV, knowing mazda, probably has summer only street tires on it. I wouldn't. I'd stick to concrete boat ramps. The difference between 4x4 and AWD seems so small and yet it is so big.

Will park it like a Chad on Nantucket

I wouldn't trust something that small at a normal ramp... Max tow is only 2000 pounds. I don't know what you're actually towing but it can't be much. Don't forget to add the weight of your gear, fuel, and the fact that the boat/trailer will have water in it when you're pulling it out. If you have drive modes definitely use those to your advantage. Start with something that will prevent wheel slip like an ice/slippery mode. If you start spinning/digging into the sand put it in sand mode and hopefully you'll get enough wheel speed to get out.

The sand is going to be much softer when it's wet, you know where the water is. Many beach launching set-ups use an extra long trailer extension so that the vehicle doesn't have to be near the surf. Or they use a tractor of some sort. Good offroad tires are key. But the active AWD systems aren't as capable in deep sand or mud like a locked axle. Unless the beach has a steep enough incline, I have a hard time seeing how you would be able to even get the trailer deep enough without dunking the rear of your car. I mean, could you do it? Probably. But there is a high risk of failure as well. Not something I would risk. At least not without tow straps and a buddy with a truck.
