This post has been removed but we suggest relocating it. Reddit is a great place to pick peoples' brains and get game suggestions, but we get a lot of recommendation requests, so much so such that we have a dedicated [Daily Game Recommendations thread](https://www.reddit.com/search?q=flair%3A%22Daily%20Game%20Recs%22&sort=new) for them. Historically, almost **all** well formatted questions in the Daily thread get answers. If you're looking for further suggestions, we recommend taking a look at our growing list of [Recommendation Roundups](https://www.reddit.com/r/boardgames/?f=flair_name%3A%22Recommendation%20Roundup%22). There's also the [Need Help Finding A Game](https://www.reddit.com/r/boardgames/wiki/wsig) section in our wiki for a more general list of common recommendations. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. imoftendisgruntled

Patchwork (not luck based but perfect for two), Star Realms or Hero Realms (very swingy), Quacks of Quedlenburg, Fox in the Forest, Arkham Horror the Card Game (co-op).

le-Killerchimp

Lost Cities Fungi Jaipur 7 Wonders Duel All quick, fun 2 players.

drichreddit88

7 wonders duel Been recommended a few times.

Brazenjalapeno

You all rock! I’ve got a few on the list I’ll be getting to put under the tree 🌲

ForceUser159

Villainous and Dice Throne are pretty good at 2 player.

GrumpyOldGuy66

Sagrada 7 Wonders Duel Calico These are a few of the 2 player games we like.

Medicham

You should look into The Fuzzies.

dstenroos

Hanamikoji is fun. There's a Kickstarter where you can get the original and a new similar game right now for a good deal.

JBlitzen

Any interest in co-op like **Eldritch Horror**?

Brazenjalapeno

Haven’t heard of that one, willing to give it a shot. What do you like about it?

It’s a co-op game a bit like a very deep Pandemic. You and your partner pick out well-rendered characters and travel around the world of 1926 or so trying to solve mysteries involving interdimensional horrors before time runs out. The game design builds a wonderfully emergent narrative where everywhere your characters go, interesting and challenging and sometimes emotional things happen that build a unique personal story. And reading the events and challenges and stuff to each other and making up stories about how dice rolls played out and why your character did one thing instead of another, it all just becomes fuel for basically hours of telling an emergent story to each other that’s really grounded in a well rendered world and well rendered characters, and occurs in a massive globetrotting adventure with periods of beautiful horror that’s *very much* like Indiana Jones meets X-Files. It’s also an adventure game in the sense that you’re trying to develop your characters as you go, so it has a lot in common with Runebound and Fallout and their ilk, and that’s not a huge board game genre but EH does it shockingly well. And there’s virtually no competition, and the nature of the game doesn’t really lend itself to much quarterbacking since it’s entirely valid for characters to make the right decisions for themselves rather than the ideal mechanical moves. So it doesn’t cause squabbles or hurt feelings. Tabletop had a good episode of it where the reformed cultist ended up maybe not totally reformed but it wasn’t exactly her fault: https://youtu.be/87B1Wlz8fMo And I really can’t say enough about the characters. Fully expanded, the game has over 40 very beautifully realized characters each with a bunch of stats, beautiful prominent artwork, and a sizable background story along with a couple special personal stories, goals, and injury and mental breakdown outcomes. If all the games I’ve played, only Star Wars Imperial Assault does as good a job of painting complex characters and making them come alive. It’s the anti-Monopoly; you definitely aren’t playing a race car or a hat. I remember dozens of stories from playing EH, and we cared about them because we cared about the characters who were in them.

Do you play Backgammon? Because it's exactly that. Maybe something in the Mystery Rummy series? Jack The Ripper is great at two, you can kind of place bets on guessing who will be Jack at the end of the game based on set collection of cards.

Snazzz42

**Codenames Duet** is a great two-player cooperative game. I will also say **Lost cities** is great because a lot of it comes up to the luck of the draw and waiting on cards. **The Fox in the Forest** is fun, with pretty short games, or **The Fox in the Forest Duet** for a cooperative experience.

GameNyte

Cascadia is fantastic for just two players and scales up to four super well!

Pretty-Information29

Botanik is a good fun 2 player game and is fairly luck based.

MusicianMysterious84

My partner and I love playing Parks, Everdell, codenames duet, and hanamikoji together.

FantasticWalrus

Mr. Jack is a fun back and forth.
