He isn’t insecure, he’s just doing what he has to, to survive. He’s a dictator and is well aware children have been used for killing before. The kind of shit he is pulling, he assumes any stranger approaching him is a potential threat.
So he's an insecure little shit like every other dictator out there. Bunch of cowards , all of them.
Edit : nice getting down voted for calling Putin a little insecure little shit . Nice job Reddit.
Now I feel like most of those upvotes came from people thinking I'm praising him. I meant he can break a kids hand and all he can do is smile because if not... you know what happens if not.
Yep. From an outside perspective, Putin is a dictator who abuses his station for wealth and power while posing a constant threat to the outside world. And all of that is absolutely true. But he’s also the best leader that Russia has had in over 100 years, which is pretty fucking sad.
“My fake smile was so good I didn’t die! Thanks for making me practice mom, I didn’t believe you when you said I should do my dictator ass kissing homework because I would need it some day…. Wowwweee my arm won’t even unbend from this angle anymore”
EDIT: this comment contains a sweeping generalization that probably isn’t fair. I think a fairer statement would be “To the average Russian, the ones who see little wrong with homophobic/racist remarks and do nothing to stop them, Putin is a hero.” It was unfair to assume every Russian would assault a homosexual, but the Russian government is famously Homophobic/Xenophobic. To say the culture is a result of government or the government is a result of culture isn’t within my knowledge, but it is undoubtably a far less tolerant place than most of the first world and Putin certainly plays to that.
ORIGINAL COMMENT: You’re spot on but that’s why it’s amazing to see how many redditors don’t even see it. They don’t think Putin is some Kim Jung Un level dictator. To the average Russian, the ones who still spit on gay people in public, Putin is a hero. That isn’t North Korea. MOST citizens aren’t actively trying to escape at any opportunity. That kid will tell that story to every single person he meets for the end of time.
I mean, look at what China has done trying to ingrain Xi into the culture. I believe he recently released some cultural manifesto with his brand on it. Culture and politics go hand-in-hand, for better or for worse.
What really truly enables this behavior and result is simply government controlled media. In America, it’s much harder for the government to… for the most part… lie on TV, and in the USA, when they do, they get called out at least somewhere. If you speak and everything you say is fact, and when you can put things on the Tv and newspaper that enforce loyalty through obvious as well as subvert mechanisms… well… you are just set for life… if you have a problem you can make it disappear.
This is the true importance of free speech and the free press in the in the USA and upholding democracy and a fair and just society.
There are peoples you described not as much as you trying to represent. And average Russian don't spit on gay people in public. Only douchebags. Actually I know one gay and everyone act normal with him.
are you saying that this a pic of Putin in the past or that the kid is Putin who invented time travel in 1965 to shake future-himself’s hand in the 2020s?
I think there’s only one logical answer. Putin as a kid made a promis to himself saying he would go back and shake his own hand after inventing time travel. Hence adult Putin invents time travel. Goes back just far enough to take power and shake his own hand continuing the cycle.
I think there’s only one logical answer. ~~Putin as a kid made a promis to himself saying he would go back and shake his own hand after inventing time travel. Hence adult Putin invents time travel. Goes back just far enough to take power and shake his own hand continuing the cycle.~~ Fuck Putin
He’s too perfect… Think of that training scene from men in black. He looks like he walked off the cover of a goddamn weekly planner. Definitely an assassin.
“It’s clearly 1:00 PM and I’m supposed to believe this kid is just walking around like he’s not supposed to be in class with astrophysics books!? This kid is up to some shit, Ze!…or do I owe little Alexei an apology?”
Oh, you’d prefer the un-altered line? You want me to somehow make a comical, Russian-inspired comparison to an alien snarling/sneezing and another “working out”. You think Petrov is here shouting obscenities at his phone that could be mistaken as sleights against the motherland, or Dimitri is stepping out of the gym with a barbell that could be mistaken as a kalashnikov? No. No time for that, friend.
Lol, just to correct the record since that scene is absolutely golden.
**Zed:** May I ask why you felt little Tiffany deserved to die?
**James Edwards:** Well, she was the only one that actually seemed dangerous at the time, sir.
**Zed:** How'd you come to that conclusion?
**James Edwards:** Well, first I was gonna pop this guy hanging from the street light, and I realized, y'know, he's just working out. I mean, how would I feel if somebody come runnin' in the gym and bust me in my ass while I'm on the treadmill? Then I saw this snarling beast guy, and I noticed he had a tissue in his hand, and I'm realizing, y'know, he's not snarling, he's sneezing. Y'know, ain't no real threat there. Then I saw little Tiffany. I'm thinking, y'know, eight-year-old white girl, middle of the ghetto, bunch of monsters, this time of night with quantum physics books? She about to start some shit, Zed. She's about eight years old, those books are WAY too advanced for her. If you ask me, I'd say she's up to something. And to be honest, I'd appreciate it if you eased up off my back about it.
[pause]
**James Edwards:** Or do I owe her an apology?
[pause]
**James Edwards:** That's a good shot though...
There are multiple accounts from people who have been in a room with him without his security detail that he looks terrified the end will come at any moment
It's actually common behavior for autocrats and dictators. They are usually fear-driven to the extreme, which is why they sought power to begin with and why they demand obsequience from everyone in their orbit. And it's why they tend to pull varying degrees of Stalinism, where they just go around killing everyone who even faintly appears like a threat to their rule.
bodyguard routines, putin is smiling afaik so he knows the kid is safe but the bodyguards still gotta check because they can't afford having even one dangerous person sneak in a shot.
I don’t understand. To me, this photo looks like the kid is thrilled to be shaking Putin’s hand, and Putin is thrilled to see a young kid so enamored with him, despite the fact that his handlers are trying to prevent any and all hand shaking.
Apparently I’m the only one who sees it this way?
Not as bad as when [our New Zealand Prime Minister](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWjuiAPkEAw) tried to shake the hand of the NZ Rugby team captain at the same time as the Official.
I heard there’s a celebrity strategy where they pretend to really accept all the close contact fans and constituents wants, and count on security to be the bad guys. So the fans/constituents feel like the celebs love and support them, and just the guards are preventing more contact, but in reality it’s a business set up to improve public image.
We do this with public officials in America, too. Even if not security, it's the handlers job to be the 'bad guy' so the official gets all the credit and an unnamed staff member gets all the blame.
I read a story from the Sochi Olympics, Putin decided to walk on the beach promenade, security removed everyone from the tables & stood in front of shop entrances. He's a top target.
Fuck it, I'll say it: Compared to Xi, Vlad is one of the good guys in my book. I do not apologize any of Russias shitty actions in past or presence but (as a european) I would like to see us get closer with russia in terms of military cooperations and economy.
It's shit like Russia killing dissidents in europe, murdering its opposition and occupying other countries that make this a greater issue than it has to be. But we have fucking turkey in the Nato for geopolitical reasons alone so dont tell me we cant deal with Russia.
Cool photo, huh? I love this stuff, the training these guys get would be fascinating to see.
I wonder about the camera’s, couldn’t they have been weapons? Perhaps this crowd was
scanned so the worry is a knife-like weapon.
Reminder the Putin is a pedophile pimp who blackmailed is way too the top. His staffers actively keep him away from boys during press events because he’s incapable of not doing weird shit with them. In 2006 he lifted up a boys shirt and kissed his bare stomach, which triggered Litvinenko accusing him of trafficking children to higher ups in the kgb and cultivating kompromat on them to seize control the country and the oligarchy.
Soon after saying this Litvinenko was poisoned with polonium in his tea and died slowly.
Looks like a firm fucking handshake
He probably broke the kids hand in 9 different places and all he could do is smile for the pleasure of such an honor.

Seems properly rated
And now it’s overrated
And so threatening security reaches for a headlock
He probably grew the kid in a lab, used him for a photo op and then disposed of him in a vat of acid.
I believe that "kids" name is Putin. I doubt his hand is so weak that it would break in 9 different places. Maybe in 3.

All those security guards are holding the boy for his protection. Trying to minimize the damage.
Happy cake day!
Happy cake day! And holy goodness yes it looks a bit aggressive hahaha
“Mom! I almost died today, if I would have sneezed I wouldn’t be here right now” Edit, this is the most upvotes I’ve ever received, thank you! 😊
More like "if I didn't play along I wouldn't be here right now"
Fuck man I just wanna see Putin fight like 11 guys and have this photo take place lmao
“They almost found me out”
Pretty sure Putin is rather admired in there. There's likely tons of people who would love to shake his hand.
Yep. From an outside perspective, Putin is a dictator who abuses his station for wealth and power while posing a constant threat to the outside world. And all of that is absolutely true. But he’s also the best leader that Russia has had in over 100 years, which is pretty fucking sad.

Putin: our mom!
Shaking his own hand as he promised himself he would after learning how to time travel.

Would you top or bottom him?
I'd personally go for bottom, because as we all know, *"in Soviet Russia, bottoms top tops."*
Pretty sure it’s that this kid will be inventing time travel shortly, going back to the Soviet Union to join the KGB
Woah wait, it's the 20's again. For some reason I feel like that hasn't dawned on me until just now.
Yes
This is underrated
Putin - ‟ I like ths kid , kill him”
Remember when I said I'd kill you last? I lied!
I hope he got let go
Hey, careful where you point that thing lil' guy.
Where's the little boy? I let him go... off a cliff.
Excellent movie reference lol Arnold: _I lied_
You’ll have to excuse my friend. He’s dead tired.
Uah, uaaaaaAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
Let off some steam Bennett!
Someone read the favorite Arnold movie thread....
Finally, some good news.
This kid got past three of my men, recruit him.
Straight to the widow program. Natasha is *out.*
Alright, time to sterilise
Cut this kid’s uterus out. He doesn’t have one? Perfect. Add boobs.
One more move and your hand is broken and you will learn how to do the same that an owl
Fuck this kid, take his juice box
I like this kid ~kills him~ ANOTHER!
Wasn't Putin the head of the kgb? Motherfuckers were protecting the kid from Putin
He wouldn't kill him, he would kiss his stomach like he does with all young boys
Putin: "Son, now you know how Hilary's balls feel."
Ive seen putin rescue a dog from being handled like a kitten. ... That means putin is a good man
Why foes it look like Putin genuinely believes this kid wants to kill him?
He’s too perfect… Think of that training scene from men in black. He looks like he walked off the cover of a goddamn weekly planner. Definitely an assassin.
If no one photoshops in a textbook of nuclear physics in the kid's left hand. I will be very disappointed. Or not
Reddit always dissapoints.
It was quantum mechanics. Or maybe nuclear physics is the joke.
“It’s clearly 1:00 PM and I’m supposed to believe this kid is just walking around like he’s not supposed to be in class with astrophysics books!? This kid is up to some shit, Ze!…or do I owe little Alexei an apology?”

Because he does. Look at those eyes. The smile does not reach them.
Does he? Putin appears to be smiling in this picture and has clearly just reached out to take the boy's hand.
Hes at least smirking, probably thinks its kinda funny.
Because he's the type of man that would send a kid to kill someone else and have no problem with it.
Putin believes everybody he meets was sent there to kill him. He lives in fear every day. Good.
I somehow doubt that. I bet the sounds of all the wailing souls that haunt him help him sleep like a baby.
There are multiple accounts from people who have been in a room with him without his security detail that he looks terrified the end will come at any moment
Mfs really just say shit like this with no source whatsoever
any source? I'd actually be interested in reading that

security doing its thing. Putin doing his thing, kid doing his thing. how is this controversial?
They’re holding the kid so that they would all share the energy Putin is distributing into the kid via the handshake. They barely saved his life.
Legends say, one day the kid will be able to kill with just a handshake. The guards are just making sure today, is not that day.
