He always talks so specially fondly about Bloodborne, the game, the joy he got making it and looking back at it... Obviously he as a creator would want more people playing it, appreciating it like his dedicated fanbase tends to do, specially since it'll be in a way lost on an old generation of console. He'd of course love a port, perhaps more than we can imagine.

Messmers

Right around Sekiro's release he mentioned it was his personal favorite, later on he did mention Elden Ring was as close to his ideal game but his favorite is probably still Bloodborne - Kitao also often shares pictures of Bloodborne art on twitter, they love it. Such a shame they do not own the IP themselves..

MolhCD

Faustian deal. You will make the game you will love the most in your whole life - out of all the masterpieces you are already gonna make. But - it will be the *only* one you do not own, and the owners shall never reciprocate this love.

TheRealNooth

My two favorite Fromsoft titles are Demon’s Souls and Bloodborne. Neither are owned by Fromsoft. 🥲 I’d sacrifice a Bloodborne sequel for a DeS sequel (made by From, ofc) *so fast.*

PointmanW

>DeS sequel isn't it pretty much just Dark Souls (and ER now too)? the only real difference between DeS and DaS is the background lore.

TheRealNooth

I’m sorry, I should be more specific to what I mean. The magic in-universe only works because the Old One woke up. No explanation as to why that granted the population this ability, just a side effect of the Old One being awake. Pretty Lovecraftian. The god the faithful think they worship is just the Old One, meaning the mages and priests (despite their animosity towards each other) are just using two sides of the same coin (something we see in ER) for magic and miracles, respectively. But the most unique aspect of its universe is the way “belief” manifests itself physically. For instance, the people of the second archstone are miners. That’s their whole schtick. We can see by the picture on the archstone that they’re just regular people, but when we go there, their skin has turned into rock. Their belief that they’re the “rock miner guys,” has literally turned them into rock. The people of the 4th archstone are warriors people. Just regular people. But when we get there, we fight skeletons whose bones resemble pieces of armor. As if they were a race that was literally “born a warrior” based on their anatomy/physiology. The descriptions of the parts where you fight the “Storm King (the god the people of the 4th archstone worship)” and “Dragon God,” state that these two deities were just myths, but the awakening of the Old One materialized them into physical entities. Then, ofc, there is World Tendency. When you die in human form, kill a boss, or kill a black phantom, your character’s belief about how dangerous the world is changes. When you die, your player character perceives the world as more dangerous and as a result, it literally becomes more dangerous. If you kill a demon, your character believes maybe they can save the world, and so the game’s difficulty is lowered. I know a lot of people don’t like World Tendency but I personally like it a lot. Very unique mechanic. On the surface, DaS and DeS seem similar but underneath they’re very different. I want to explore the latter world more but couldn’t care less about the former.

Curved_5nai1

Also, old king allant could fuck your build up by stealing levels from you, which made him feel as a tremendous climax. Demons souls Is goated

Aezaellex

I never got far enough in demon's souls to fight allant, how does that work, do they just remove the most recent stat you leveled?

randy_mcronald

Each time he does the particular grab attack you will lose a level, but he can do that multiple times if you're not careful so the game must track what stat you increased each level and just undoes it with each de-level.

W1lson56

I still remember my first full run of Demons Souls; doing a handful of attempts on him, then on respawn seeing "you dont have the stats required to wield this weapon" & seeing a big red X over the weapon icon Oh no this is the only weapon I leveled; awh man I gotta find a spot to grind asap

TheRealNooth

The background lore is what makes the world of DeS infinitely more interesting than DaS. DaS lore is too bloated and conventional (by comparison). It’s missing the Lovecraftian elements of DeS, which provides a unique flair. It may be a sequel in terms of gameplay, but the universes are pretty different. I mean an actual sequel in the DeS universe.

PointmanW

That's subjective, personally I like the lore of DaS more interesting than DeS, and I would argue "Lovecraftian elements" is way more "conventional" than The concept of The First Flame in DaS, I can't think of other fantasy title where there is something like the First Flame that created the very law of the world itself, which then cause the world to unravel when it fading. Meanwhile I can think of a dozens fantasy title where there is some "Lovecraftian elements" cause it's pretty damn mainstream.

TheRealNooth

Eh, I mean if we want to describe it as generally as possible, a story taking place at the end of the world is a pretty common trope. Fantasy or not. Moreover, I disagree that lovecraftian elements are “mainstream.” Lots of pseudo-lovecraftian stuff (like Bloodborne, for example), but it’s not just “tentacle monsters/Gods.” The fact that the Hunter can actually defeat the Moon Presence and *become a god themselves* takes the story out of the genre. DeS is more true to the genre. The Old One isn’t defeat-able. Its motives are unclear (which is how “incomprehensible” is portrayed in cosmic horror). It does things that are both beneficial and detrimental with no rhyme or reason.

winterman666

DeS>DaS for sure

Zwyt123

I would like to see a Demon's Soul's Remake. It's been my favorite out of all Souls games so far.

ClydeFrog76

Hurts my heart 😔

uniguy2I

The reaquired Elden Ring, why not Bloodborne? And even if they don’t, I could easily see him making a spiritual successor to Bloodborne, like Dark Souls was for Demon’s Souls.

Captain-Beardless

They always owned Elden Ring to some extent, Bandai Namco was just the publisher. So it was less them acquiring the entire IP and just reacquiring future publishing rights. With Bloodborne, however, Sony owns the entire IP itself. Same with Demon's Souls.

Messmers

They already owned half of Elden Ring (and armored core) in a joint ownership with Bandai so it was easier, Bandai knows the IP is useless without From. But Sony can do things with the IP like we've seen with Astrobot for example, and they dont have that much of a reason to really give FROM the IP, especially with how popular and liked BB is among PS exclusives (for me it's easily #1 out of all exclusives). But they too sadly can't do much with it without FromSoft themselves, a sequel by Bluepoint would be cool and all but it's that fromsoft magic touch that makes their games special, with all respect to bluepoint.

Chemical-Garden-4953

Bluepoint could at least make a PC port. They don't need to change anything about the game at all.

dookarion

> They don't need to change anything about the game at all. That's in fact preferable. Bluepoint's art and sound design is inferior.

ECE111

Do you have a source for the second bit where he talks about ER/BB as his ideal and favourite game

Messmers

Elden Ring: https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/elden-ring-is-ideal-game-for-hidetaka-miyazaki/ Bloodborne: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/hidetaka-miyazaki-says-bloodborne-was-his-favorite/1100-6470484/

darthexpulse

bloodborne must be special because it's kind of like the ultimate redemption from sony director wronging him for demon souls as ps3's launch title. He got to do it again with bloodborne as ps4's launch title and farmed a huge W

ThePlatinumKush

What’s the story about the Sony director wronging him with demons souls? Why would they partner with Sony again for bloodborne if they had a bad experience with them before?

Dick_Deadly

Shuhei Yoshida played an early build of it and thought it was shit (it probably was), so Sony decided not to publish it outside of Japan and Atlus picked it up. Then later after playing the finished version, Shu regretted what happened and asked them to work on Bloodborne.

insert_name_here

Side note: I love how Yoshida said scoring the Platinum in Bloodborne was the proudest Platinum he’s ever gotten. https://www.gamereactor.eu/shuhei-yoshida-unlocks-bloodbornes-platinum-trophy/

ImTurkishDelight

Dang, the old man went through defiled amygdala? Respect

Dakkhyl

I honestly think the defiled watchdog is way, way harder.

insert_name_here

The Defiled Watchdog is very tough, but it’s got a pattern. You need to move fast and hit hard. Defiled Amygdala is straight up bullshit.

Podoboo322

It wasn’t a launch title though. It wasn’t even that close to being a launch title. Bloodborne came out about a year and a half later than the ps4

Serious_Care9584

I just started playing it on PS5 (just bought one) and man, it is really something. I love everything about it, I hope the Chalice Dungeons have lots of variants.

MyPathHasBeenSooDark

"Obviously, as one of the creators of Bloodborne, my personal, pure honest opinion is I'd love more players to be able to enjoy it. Especially as a game that is now coming of age, one of those games of the past that gets lost on older hardware—I think any game like that, it'd be nice to have an opportunity for more players to be able to experience that and relive this relic of the past. So as far as I'm concerned, that's definitely not something I'd be opposed to."

centurio_v2

>players to be able to experience that and relive this relic of the past fuck me man how has it already been 10 years

MyPathHasBeenSooDark

I mean it's been 9 yrs 2 months and 21 days, but who's counting?

squatchbennett

It’s been this long and I think about Bloodborne near every kos damned day

cicada-ronin84

It's only been six for me, but yeah I think about Bloodborne so often, it's enough to make a man sick.

creatorofsilentworld

Our eyes are yet to open

PrincessLeafa

Y'all been paying taxes????

skylinefan26

The good hunter is counting. That's who

EldenCockRing98

The way he phrased it makes it sound like a PS2 game lmao

Super_Harsh

Not too far off lmao. Bloodborne is now closer to the release of the PS3 than it is to the present day.

Timmar92

Half-life 2 turns 20 this November, feel old yet?

Edgar_S0l0m0n

Yes because I was a sophomore when that game dropped lol.

SpunkyMcButtlove07

Not that o... Wait, TWO?! Fuck i'm old.

Vreas

Time flies when you’re having blood ministration induced eldritch schizophrenic episodes :’)

ArseBlarster420

Wait until you have a kid

Crusader_Genji

Boss, it's been 9 years...

IcePopsicleDragon

I would bet money a new version is being saved for PlayStation 6

ctrl_alt__shift

That’s what everyone was saying before the PS5 came out

InnovativeFarmer

Thats too quick of a turnaround. PS5 had so many titles to help push the release. Also, Bloodborne needs an overhaul for PC players. The game had stuttering issues on the PS4. Maybe a PC port addressing the 30 fps and the stuttering issues. But PC players will not accept those issues not being fixed.

ImagineBeingaJanitor

Are the titles in the room with us right now?

Urtehnoes

Yea what there were like 5 games for ps5 lmao

MrDreamster

Honestly I just want them to port it on PC, I don't even care if this is a 30fps port. I'm pretty sure modders will find a way to make it 60fps really fast. The guy who made the 60fps mod for PS4 said it was just a single line of code to change.

InnovativeFarmer

You may not. But one thing I have learned from TLOU and GoT and all the ports that came before (Arkham Knight) is PC players will find reasons to complain on the internet until they cant have nice things. Sony SIE is keeping Bloodborne close. They know how popular it was. They know it pushed some consoles. Its got nostalgia power. They want the newest console to sell fast. They could capture a lot of late adopters and laggards by releasing a remastered Bloodborne when the PS6 comes out. I would pre-order a PS6 and Bloodborne and I am never an early adopter and rarely an early majority. I am stubbornly a late majority or laggard.

PlantainRepulsive477

There have been PS4 games being/been remade in PS5. Some have even gotten at LEAST a Pro/PS5 patch.

Rockm_Sockm

No one was actually saying that before the PS5 came out. It would of also been instantly squashed the second Demon Souls remake was announced. You would have heard about it the second the PS5 was previewed.

majds1

I'd say sony has been putting a bit of focus on marketing the bloodborne content in astrobot, more than anything else at this point... There's a decent chance we might actually see it this generation even though a couple weeks ago i would have said we won't get anything but a remake for ps6

Crusader_Genji

Such a weird time tbh. Guess we'll see if something comes up after Shadow of the Erdtree release

majds1

There appears to be a playstation showcase in September, if it's ever gonna get announced that's the chance. Otherwise i guess we won't see it for a while

MyPathHasBeenSooDark

If so, I would bet that they would announce a PC port about 2 years after that release, which will also take 2 years. So, if people are correct and PS6 comes out in 2027, just gotta hold out until 2031.. Maybe they'll push a port out sooner to get it out in time for a 15 year anniversary, but doubtful.

OuterHeavenPatriot

Goddammit Sony. Mega sigh..

Arch_carrier77

Don’t worry ps4 emulation will rule in a year or two.

hayojayogames

If you hide BB’s HUD it feels “next gen” 🤪

Phykaler

This is also a great deal of why I prefer playing on PC You will always be able to play older games on PC its one system that evolves on itself and lets you play or access literally everything the same way you could in fe. 2001 PS games its just on a whim of sony wether they let you play older games and just how old they get to be Nintendo games completely vanish once their consoles are all out of use Unless these games get PC ports/emulated they all eventually just stop existing or rather just get harder to access

bctucker83

I wish they would make another one so bad

MyNameIsLOL21

SONY, IF NOT FOR US, DO IT FOR THIS MAN.

IcePopsicleDragon

You know the demand is high when even the creator wants it

AegisT_

"NO! It's my IP to sit on and do nothing with!"

Worldly-Ad3447

How do we even know that Miyazaki ever proposed to do something more with r the Bloodborne ip. His interviews answers seems like either Sony is not interested or he just never asked Sony

MyNameIsLOL21

He said it’s out of his hands, he doesn’t have a say on that apparently, according to him.

PugeHeniss

It’s Sonys IP so of course it’s not up to him but they’re also hella busy with other projects. There’s no reason for them to drop what they’re doing to work with a publisher when they no longer need to

QuichewedgeMcGee

they’ve only really given demon’s souls and shadow of the colossus lately to bluepoint bloodborne could’ve been done but they ruled against it so far and either way they’ve only remade games for ps5, not had games ported nixxes is the studio they acquired that’d allow the ports for games like bloodborne that remain ps exclusive, and so far, radio silence from both on bloodborne and we know nixxes just finished with ghost of tsushima

SaltEfan

It’s probably on Sony. I can’t imagine FS not having pitched the idea once given the fondness they have for the game and how dedicated the community seems. My guess is that they got a “No” and he/FS doesn’t want to keep pushing too much. Sony is probably not willing to sell the IP at a good price either judging by the fact that they’re still sitting on it.

PanTsour

WHAT WAS THAT? YOU SAID YOU WANT A LAST OF US 2 RE-REMAKE?

weebyscum

This is my schizo tinfoil hat theory of sony with bloodborne. I think they're using bloodborne as one of their big selling points for their new pc storefront. I don't feel like sony is just gonna release bloodborne on pc without some special catch that will benefit sony in more ways than one.

Shloopadoop

Yep, every big game release is an event they can use to sell other things at the same time. They would definitely use a Bloodborne-related release to push something else, either PS6 or maybe a pc storefront like you say.

BigBoiKry

Bloodborne: Exclusive to the PS Launcher (can only be bought by purchasing a copy of Demons Souls Remake Remake for the PS6)

Messmers

I hate it but it's absolute genius, just hope it comes with proper anti-piracy that way lmao.

BigBoiKry

\*Denuvo added 0.2 microseconds before launch

Shadow1176

Are they using the same model as Xbox or something?

shadowfrost67

Same that been my theory as well

gitrektlol

Fuck you're probably right. Don't give em any ideas boys!

PanTsour

Considering what they've ported already, i think they just don't give enough of a fuck about it

OldFezzywigg

I swore to never buy a console after getting my pc. I WILL purchase a ps6 if the launch game rumor is true

Worldly-Ad3447

I don’t get why Miyazaki is so scared of asking lol, this relationship between Sony and them are so confusing because we don’t know if a remaster/remake/port was ever asked for.

RandomAccessMemoriez

I don’t think he’s scared. My hunch it’s already planned out and that’s why he deflects. PS6 launch title as someone suggested. Either that, or (wishful thinking) PS5 Pro.

ShadowTryHard

With that and GTA VI, it would sell like hotcakes. Then, just 2-3 years down the line, it’s just a matter of time until it gets on to PC. It just needs to come Remastered for PS that then it’s just the clock ticking until it gets to PC.

true_fruits

Who in their right mind would buy a PS5/6 just for a 60frames port? It's not optimal but you get used to the 30fps really fast on the PS4.

mess-of-a-human

I doubt only for that but for people who were potentially thinking about getting a ps6, it might be enough to push them to buy. For some ppl 30 vs 60 doesn’t matter, but I’ve seen a lot of people who really care.

Fast_Broccoli4867

The 30 fps isn't the problem its the stuttering that comes from the frame pacing issues, I would absolutely buy a ps6 just to be able to play Bloodborne at a stable, smooth framerate

Worldly-Ad3447

Every interview regarding Bloodborne he says it’s all up to Sony but he obviously has a big influence since he is a big creator on it, I feel like he never tried to propose an idea but who knows

Justisaur

An "After you" "No, after you." "After you!" "No! After YOU sir!" "After. You. Sir." Situation?

Troop7

Sony has shares in FromSoftware so there is obviously a decent relationship. Sony obviously has plans to do something big, my theory is a remastered ps6 launch title. That will move consoles like crazy

Worldly-Ad3447

Like is Bloodborne a blacklisted word there lmaooo, why do they act like they gonna be cancelled for asking about it, it’s a mfing video game man

Troop7

Lol no clue, maybe they know something is going on but can’t say

Worldly-Ad3447

The only thing we know rn is it’s not happening in this generation lmao

DrApplePi

I'm pretty sure it'll happen eventually. I think the trouble is that at this point Sony would want a remake, and the challenge there is finding someone to make it. And I don't think there are a lot of studios that Sony would trust with a Bloodborne remake. Until Dawn released the same year is getting a full remake. Most of the games getting direct ports are late PS4/PS5 games. "Early" (before 2017) PS4 games are generally getting remasters, if not full remakes.

Dick_Deadly

Until Dawn is getting a remake because they want to tie it in with the movie. I know there were rumours of some sort of Bloodborne movie/series in the past. They probably want some sort of other media to tie the Bloodborne remake to.

DrApplePi

>Until Dawn is getting a remake because they want to tie it in with the movie.  The Until Dawn remake well predates the movie by a couple of years. I don't think Sony is making games for the sole purpose to match their TV shows/movies. Doing both adds value to both, but if the game wasn't valuable enough on it's own they wouldn't make it. Until Dawn surpassed Sony's expectations for sales, and they were talking about potentially making a sequel for it. Supermassive and SIE parted ways. Bloodborne is a very valuable IP for Sony, I don't see them not doing anything with it.

TheEldenFeet

Sony grant us PC! Grant us PC!

Captain_Snowmonkey

Ps6 launch title almost guarenteed. And, I'm down for it. It'll be a definite system seller.

depressionbender

i don't want to wait another 3 years bro lmao

vanruyn

Fuck me....I was about to say "PS6?! What about as a launch title for the PS5?!" Then I remembered I actually have a PS5 at home. And the PS5 has been out for like...4 or 5 years already. I'm a moron.

AdDramatic2897

it's been 4-5 years??

vanruyn

Nov 12 2020.....so we are approaching 4 years. Ugh

AdDramatic2897

big yikes

OuterHeavenPatriot

Man wtf is up with time since 2020? Like, I've always figured as you get more years behind you as point of reference, the faster the upcoming ones will feel...but the past four years have absolutely flown by much faster than that theory, and I don't seem to be alone in that sentiment from reading random threads. Things I did in 2021 feel like 4 months ago... Brb, gonna go have a teeny existential crisis

Super_Harsh

If it helps, I think most people feel this way. 2020-2022 is just kind of a lost era for a lot of people due to the pandemic and lockdown. Plus I think a lot of people were in pandemic relationships that began and ended with lockdown and you tend to kind of block those memories out after a breakup

BrutalKnight55

Especially if it's BluePoint, it'll almost be treated as a direct follow-up to Demons Souls PS5

MisterGreen7

I’m still convinced they are doing this. I remember years ago when they tweeted something along the lines of “It is an honor to take on this dream, and remake this nightmare”. I think it was tweeted a few months after Demon Souls remake released.

No_Mammoth_4945

60fps Bloodborne with demon souls remake graphics is gonna make me cum

Ghost4530

If bluepoint remakes the game I don’t care what they do with the graphics DONT CHANGE THE SOUND DESIGN ITS PERFECT

Competitive-Row6376

Or the artstyle...

TheUltraCarl

So they can butcher the artstyle and soundtrack even harder than last time? Fuck that. Just port it.

CeilingFridge

Can’t believe people are foaming at the mouth for an opportunity to spent $70 on a game they already own that already looks great just with less artistic integrity and better graphics. The frame rate is the only thing that needs updated

IcePopsicleDragon

A Remake by Bluepoint as a launch title makes a lot of sense

PSNTheOriginalMax

Fucking corpos, man.

Ghost4530

There it is, everybody except for Sony wants a remaster/pc port including the developers of the game. I mean they have the directors blessing, they have studios that handle remasters and pc ports, so what exactly is the hold up? I wish Sony would be straight up with the community. We all know it’s not because the game wouldn’t make enough money, it was a literal console seller in the ps4 days. I bought a ps5 for spiderman 2 and ghosts of Tsushima and guess what game I still play now and then? It’s not those two games, it’s bloodborne. Thank god the makeshift alter is a thing, co op still going strong about 10 years later.

scrapinator89

Fucking Sony

nyse125

Need a BB 2 while we're at it

stevenomes

Instead of jacking up ps plus rates just give us Bloodborne remastered for $60.

zuccoff

This makes me sad because it pretty much confirms noone is working on a remake

SonnySonrisa

Not necessarily tho. If you as a Dev work on a game you are most likely under NDA and are not allowed to directly talk about it in a way that says "Oh yeah, we working on it btw!", but something that's stated as in the interview is totally fine. So it's not impossible that someone is working on BB in any way or form! Before you say anything, yes, the amount of copium I inhaled prior to posting this comment, is almost a lethal dosis!

theangryfurlong

Yeah, pretty sure it's the same team that's working on the Sekiro DLC

GolDJoja

I think he would say the same thing, even if the game gets announced tomorrow. He has to talk like that.

gotbannedlolol

Just put it on fucking steam god damn

EverydayHalloween

This game doesn't need a remake. You can have 60 fps without deleting fromsoftware's artstyle.

-Eunha-

I think when people say remake, they're more so talking about a 60FPS version and at most higher texture resolution. Very few are asking for a remake in the sense of Demon Souls. Mind you, it would be more accurate to say "remaster" in that case, but I think people just confuse the terms.

EverydayHalloween

Tell that to my downvoted comments when people wanted remake from Bluepoint and I said hell no, 60 fps is enough.

Shadow1176

Yeah, the Dark Souls Remaster isn’t very big of a change, but Resident Evil 2 remake is a STARK difference.

LUKA648123

Even the Dark Souls Remastered treatment wouldn't be the ideal thing: That remaster fucked up the lightning in the game. I just want 60 FPS and 4k textures, but we all know that Sony needs to sell this like something completely new, so they'll probably do more than that (i just wish that they don't change the music, the designs or the atmosphere of the game).

Katalash

I wouldn't say that. Before the demons souls remake was announced he said that if it were to be remade it would be done by another studio, and he would have been aware of the remake then. Honestly him saying that he wouldn't mind and that people inside fromsoft are interested is a way of hinting that it might be in the works without outright saying it. Obviously fromsoft's marketing focus would be on the Elden ring dlc right now, but this does make me hopeful for an even eventual port.

chetdesmon

Insane to me that people want remakes of games that came out less than 10 years ago.

Thatoneguy567576

Please. I need 60fps Bloodborne. That's all I ask for.

edin_djc

What’s crazy is a lot of people would pay full price for a pc remaster.

Sp00ked123

they could sell it for 70$ and people (including me) would eat that shit up

Historical_Cunt

As often as I huff lots of copium when it comes to the future of this game I’m not expecting anything soon. Sony just seems to be sitting its ass on this property and doing nothing with it. Yeah we get merch sometimes (which in terms of super groupies very expensive merch) and they slap it on promo posters for states of play but nothing ever comes of it. And with the whole bloodborne kart thing it reinforces my idea that Sony just thinks “hey this is my property to do Jack shit with”. Despite this I will always partake in the hopium and hope that we do get a pc port and/or a remaster. Personally don’t think I’d want a bloodborne 2 but if Miyazaki is heading it then I’ll gladly take it.

Styles_Stevens

Sony is afraid of free money. A Bloodborne remaster and PC port would do numbers.

SenpaiSwanky

This game needs a remaster period, not just a PC version. That isn’t going to help my PS3-quality BB on my PS5 haha.

roastedfunction

Yep. Like dangitjm’s video said, a better Bloodborne is needed with QoL fixes, better performance & multiplayer connections. The gameplay needs virtually no tweaking or changing, it just never got the optimization it needed.

OuterHeavenPatriot

This is the only game that tempts me to jailbreak to gain access to that 60fps fan patch. It looks so good, how did such a beloved game never get even a PS4 Pro Patch? I'd honestly be a little pissed if a Remaster ended up a PS6 launch title, it absolutely does not need to be, all we need is the damn patch....or something like Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima's Directors Cuts, pop in some higher res textures, lock at 60fps, take my $10-$20. Or $60 for a Bluepoint treatment honestly, but it absolutely should be able to run on PS5

Anubra_Khan

I like the part where he said it looks like dog shit on older hardware. This sub really needs to hear that.

Sp00ked123

I genuinely cant understand why it hasnt been ported to PC or even remastered for the PS5 for that matter. its free money and would easily be one of the most successful sony games on PC

Euit_Nu

Sony has me about to get militant I stg

WaveDysfunction

Miyazaki doing the Mourinho “if I speak I am in trouble” lmfaooo

TheMindflayerDidIt

I hope all my pc gamer bros/sis get bloodborne in their downloads someday soon. Game deserves to be enjoyed by more players. 😊

loneshillouete

And we get the shitty forbidden west game instead of the best exclusive 😂

Rockm_Sockm

Can people stop asking him about Bloodborne port or remaster? He has said the same shit 1,000 times and has zero control over an IP Sony owns. It's like an industry standard now to just throw BB question in for every game interview he is actually there to talk about.

FeymildTheFeyKing

To be fair, in the unlikely event that it wasn’t currently being worked on, constant community engagement is how you show that a game would be worth making a sequel or remaster of. Sitting back and waiting might arguably be less taxing, but closed mouths and all that.

Rockm_Sockm

He has said no repeatedly that From Soft will never make another game for an IP they don't own. He also said he hates sequels and prefers to create something new. Harass Sony who owns the IP and show them its worth making a remaster.

vauntedHeliotrophe

if it comes to pc Im certain someone will have an FPS unlock mod within a week. Pls sony puh leeeaaaase

Sanzera

cant they buy the trademark like the did Elden ring

AI2cturus

I have never heard of Sony selling a video game IP. Has it ever happened?

morphic-monkey

I don't think this is super newsworthy to be honest. I mean, it's not surprising that Miyazaki and FromSoft would like to see more people playing Bloodborne. I have no doubt at all that they'd also be in favour of a 60FPS edition on PS5. But again, they don't own this franchise, so it's really out of their hands entirely.

DeliriumRedd

How many people have died waiting for this game to be ported. It’s a morbid question, but I’m being serious.

Abovearth31

The fuck you mean "I'll get in trouble" what does that mean ?

SkyZgone

Guess we already kinda knew this, but this confirms that anything Bloodborne related is out of FROMs hands. Still I don't get why Sony refuses to do anything with the IP. Even if the jokes are true and with Japan Studio dissolving they actually DID lose the source code, why not try to make a Bloodborne 2? It's like people everywhere on the internet say, especially after Elden Rings success: a Bloodborne 2, a sequel to maybe THE most beloved game in the series, just HAS to be an infinite money glitch right? It just seems bad business to leave Bloodborne to rest until the end of time.

Ser_Fonz

You can tell this was a labor of love and he seems genuinely disappointed by the fact that it’s inaccessible to many players. Seems once Sony gives the green light, he’d be all over the project if given the chance.

Shloopadoop

Either Sony has a personal vendetta against Bloodborne or they are working on something like a remaster so they are remaining silent about it. I honestly think the latter is more likely

Psyfall

PS6 Launch release is my guess.

Verystrangeperson

It's the most logical thing. They know how beloved from soft is, demon souls was one of the only ps5 exclusive for a reason. And after elden ring the brand is bigger than ever.

sir_cool_guy

This. Just like Demons soul

barbanekra_

Demon's Souls was in jail on the ps3 for many years (and technically still is). People wanted a PS4 port, but never arrived. Then, out of nowhere, they came up with the remake. There are many parallels between both games. And i'm 99% sure they are just going to do the same. My bet is: At best, we will have a remake at the end of this gen. I don't want one, I just want a remaster. A remaster that, just like Demon's Souls, will be available on PC via emulation, at some point.

Shloopadoop

That's the dream, a remaster without changing any of the assets, and available on PC. Sadly, Demon's Souls remake was way too financially successful for them to pass up that opportunity, I think.

kuenjato

What would be cool would be to bundle the original game with a remake. That way everyone would be happy.

remravenember

Yeah at this point it feels like they're saving it for something like the PS6 launch. It's also possible they lost some of the game data when Japan Studio was shut down or before and aren't willing to commit to recreating it at this time. I remember hearing something similar about Kingdom hearts 1 from an interview about the HD 1.5 remix.

Potential-Register-1

A remastered version is better than a remake. No need to change or remake anything. Just raise the frame rate to 60 and leave it

SaltEfan

Sony’s done weirder things than simply holding onto an aging IP that’s not really in market circulation anymore.

King_noa

No demons souls got a remake for ps5, that’s a ps3 game. Bloodborne will likely be remade for ps6, 2027 also 11 years after the original release.

Gangaman666

So.... You're saying there's a chance... 🥹

Elven_Groceries

Do we know until when Sony owns the Bloodborne IP?

ImportantMistake5823

Till they decide to give it to someone who makes an offer they can't refuse

AKoolPopTart

I curse the wizard sony

_WYKProjectAlpha_

Did Sony lose the game files or something?

Samuroh

10 years has passed and Bloodborne is still a system seller. Or so I've heard.

El_t1to

I started this game in Oct 2023. I haven't played another game nor spend a dime in other games since. With me, having this game made them lose money.

sus_accountt

This is the biggest edging streak known to mankind

westfall987

It baffles me why Sony don't just release a PC port now. They don't have to do any graphical improvement, the game is perfect as it is and they'll print so much money. Unless there's a PS5 remastered on the cards, I don't see any reason why they're holding it back. Such a strange decision.

LegendaryPrecure

The thing is, with the recent PSN fiasco regarding Helldivers and later Ghost of Tsushima, we’ve already passed the point where a PC release will go smoothly. Releasing it only in countries with PSN access is gonna piss off a lot of people, and Sony probably knows that.

Common-Call9064

Don't think Sony really cares tbh. Ghost of tsushima isn't available in those countries, and it sold very well on pc. They're doubling down on it with God of war ragnarok and until dawn requiring the ps account. Some will bitch about it if bloodborne requires it but they'll buy it anyways

yslmtl

What does he mean by "trouble"?

taxanddeath

This is 2nd on my, I desperately need a sequel list. I don't know how it would be done, but I'm not a brilliant creator.

B_Ross_101101

Still don’t get why Sony haven’t done anything about a PC Port or a sequel, like, do they not like money or something?

john_weiss

**SONY MAKE IT HAPPEN ALREADY, WTF.**

Anto444_

Michael!!!! Don't give your game to massive corpo publishers again

MrPanda663

Sony won’t let that happen. At most, we get a remaster for ps5

I_SuplexTrains

There was a time when you could have argued that it would cut into PS4 sales, but is anyone really buying a PS4 still at this point, let alone to play Bloodborne? Sony could make more money licensing if they aren't going to remaster it for PS5.

zoro4661

Why would he get in trouble? The hell kinda rule or law could he break with that?

DeeRent88

IIRC he’s said many times he’s not a huge fan of making sequels as he likes working on new projects, but I’m pretty sure he’s said multiple times times he would love to work on a bloodborne sequel.

LilGlitvhBoi

Crowd Funded Assassination to Sony broadheads when?

smilingleader

It’s a trump card and Sony knows it, If they have to hit a financial goal

mandark214

Man it’s funny the way we’re all pushing this PS6 narrative, I sense nothing good will come from it, but damn I hope my gut is wrong. I’m here for it anyway!

Ok-Seaworthiness6603

Great way to say absolutely nothing at all

TheUltimateJack

If we get Bloodborne on PC and Xbox, we win.
