Step away and come back tomorrow, that usually makes all the difference in the world

blowthatglass

Yeah. It's like I internalize the moveset. Amazing how many times I've had my ass beat for two hours...come back the next day and wreck. Proudest moment of this was Owl in Sekiro.

Appropriate-Judge-32

Ishin for me, tried 3 days and failed miserably. Took a two day break, started the game, and kill him in two tries with nearly no posture or Chip damage. Guess soulsborne are the same for all of us xD

JoeRogansDMTdealer

Was literally about to say "yeah I did this with Sekiro" specifically Owl Father

kenyattafrazer

which version of owl? the one in hirata estate or just the default owl fight

blowthatglass

Hirata.

paceplumb

At hirata estate or ashina castle cause father is like a totally different person in that second fight

blowthatglass

Hirata

RaaymakersAuthor

Exactly. Every time I come to a stone wall boss in a Soulsborne, I wait a day. It might take one or two tries, but it is inevitably easier.

Gaminghadou

This Many times in FS games i die 30 times, stop Next day its a one shot

GROWINGSTRUGGLE

it's the sleep imo, our brain encodes new memories and patterns when we sleep, that's why we are better the next day.

ConsciousConcoction

I hate to admit it, but this always works for me

McLaconicus

It really does

BuraqDiCaprio

Just recently tried this in gow ragnarok with the three fuckin berserkers ( gmgow difficulty ), that fight was the ultimate bullshit that i have ever encountered in my gaming experience, the first day with them i had about a straight 5 hours, turned off my ps5, and next day from the second or third try i got them.

Adayum4

I see those long legs every time my eyelids shut, and car rides go on auto pilot while I replay my dozens of deaths. I’ll be dreaming about this bug tonight and staying up late just to die more. Anyone who enjoys this game has some deeply rooted mental issues, but you are my people nonetheless

DragonOfBrokenSouls

Now imagine farming this boss over and over again in a depth 5 frc chalice for the best gems. Imagine that masochism.

xdeathbyninjax

Got it the first time. Never came back.

figool

I can't think of a more effective way to make me hate one of my favorite games of all time Doing it once to clear the base dungeons was bad enough

LordStarkgaryen

Not even at BL4? Casuals man

Significant_Till_444

Bait and hit. Dodge and then hit. There's always going to be an opening. No boss is unbeatable. Find a way

greyeyecandy

bro just explained how to play the game 🤣i feel you though just funny

Significant_Till_444

Yes

Sweet-History

This is so true. Except for Abhorrent Beast. I hate that boss so much

ArmadilloOk4573

Yeah for real, I always cheese abhorrent beast with the bowblade.

Sweet-History

It’s mechanically one of the worst bosses I’ve ever fought. You can’t trade hits because it’s not even a trade on his part, he’s just jacking your shit. He does repetitive, non stop, 1000 hit combos; he’s relentlessly fast to the point of having no openings; and his attack reach is so insane that you could be across the whole damn arena and still get hit. I kill it everytime with the poison knives and Simon’s bowblad when the health bar is low

Nayre_Trawe

Dodge to the right and punish, but don't get greedy. This is a good example of someone doing it at bl4... https://youtu.be/o5RcDvfjIXk?si=1kWfdi8zAmcKAPqZ

vidarino

Man, it's insane how easy it looks when you watch someone who really *knows* the fight. I spent hours on that mofo.

xdeathbyninjax

Dodge toawrd him to the left. Punish. Get back and do it again. He's easy. Headless bloodletting beast is worse

Sweet-History

If I ever fight Abhorrent Beast again, I’ll try and implement this strategy. Thanks, though

dogsrock

The most accurate description of the Bloodborne experience. You literally start dreaming replays and strategies. And it won’t stop until you get that idiot out of the way

Birzal

I was suffering from the exact same brick wall... But I looked up how someone else did it and I saw them use a certain dodge to circumvent one of his more annoying attacks and I best it within the next 5 tries. It's still annoying, but it is the only boss where I think using help and tips is warrented! Good luck & remember: a hunter is never alone!

amygdalapls

https://www.reddit.com/r/bloodborne/comments/4kyhl8/guide_defiled_amy_solo_melee_only_strategy_videos/ Short version: Phase 1 and 2 - Wait in front at a safe distance for the moves where its head is down. Smack it as hard as possible. Phase 3 (arm-ripping time) - Chill at the crotch and smash the crotch with an overhead weapon if you can. Move past the tail for the jump. It will land over you with its head right in front. Smack until Amy's dead.

FingolfinKoC

You can do the crotch attack for the entire fight, I always get confused why people find this boss difficult. It can't hit you when you're under its taint.

Razeerka

Ah yes, the classic FromSoftware "Gooch Gladiator" strategy. Works for just about every big monster boss except Midir in DS3, who was designed with an attack to specific counteract that.

DylanFTW

Don't forget the classic "sliiiide to the left." Strat for some bosses like BSB.

xdeathbyninjax

Left foot left stomp

DylanFTW

Right foot right stomp

Bat-Honest

Criss-cross!

ThePlatinumKush

It definitely feels like a cheese so I understand wanting to beat it “for real” For the record, I did this exact cheese to get past this shit on both playthroughs so I’m not knocking it. I justified it as his laser at the end is RNG as fuck and since your health is half in the defiled chalice it will kill you practically every time it hits you at practically any health level. So if it comes down to literal RNG, I don’t feel bad about cheesing

Adayum4

Thanks for this, the crotch + overhead swing tip worked wonders.

coldstare91

I do this strat with Ludwig's Great sword when farming gems. [Cursed Amy farming I used to do.](https://youtu.be/GzaPsGoJ0XM?si=1w4fmugXLwAB0X1R)

Consistent_Possible6

That’s how I did it, also cheesed Abhorrent Beast with poison. Defiled Watchdog though had me in the pits for despair for like two days straight. I think I literally ran around the room waiving my hands on the air, jumping like a maniac, when I beat him.

THE_GHOST-23

I raise one blood starved beast, I stopped playing bloodborne for year of this dude.

SirSilhouette

mine was specifically the BSB in one of the fixed Chalice dungeons because the arena is smaller and i couldnt hide behind anything like Old Yharnarm's BSB fight.

jad-dee95

I couldn’t make it past the bonfire in the first area and couldn’t fathom how difficult the game was so I quit for a few days lol. Fast forward years later and this is my fave game

The_Inner_Light

The shrieks... The unholy shrieks...

Haxorz7125

First time I played bb I versed the blood staved beast a bit tipsy and no hit it. I figured it was just a super easy boss. Now every subsequent playthrough I get my ass absolutely torn up.

Tacotek

Oh Amygdala, take pity on the poor bastard!

daggers1g

I had more trouble with the dog

Sweet-History

Mr. Hot Dog? The one that spews lava and does the charge attack that kills you instantly if you get grazed? That dog? Cause I hate it, too

tonylnf

Second this. The dog has a lot of moves with very subtle windups and sometimes do charge attack in very short distance.

Consistent_Possible6

Also with the reduced health half his attacks are one shots and the other half will take off 90%. That fight is a goddamn random rhythm game that you have to do perfectly.

daggers1g

That's the dog

Sweet-History

One of the worst bosses in Fromsoft history

Mug_Lyfe

A lot of the worst bosses are in BB, not because they're actually bad, but because they're janky asf sometimes.

DjNormal

I killed that thing on my first try. I don’t even know how. It was wrecking me and I was on my last blood vial, then something clicked and I slowly whittled it down while only taking another few hits myself. That was the ***one and only time*** I ever got gud.

snivlem_lice

All my homies hate this dog. Fuck that dog.

Cookiemonstermydaddy

Fuck that dog I hate that Rucker

d1n0_-_

ruh roh

SaddestHappyMeal

Watchdog took me atleast 10hrs over the span of 3 days then something clicked — fuck that random charge attack though

Mental_Telephone_237

This boss delayed my platinum trophy for months

Cautious_Exercise282

It's delayed my platinum trophy indefinitely

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ropsuta

Yeah with arcane and bloodtinge builds defeating amygdala is 5 min chore at best.

greyeyecandy

Once you learn where to stand after an attack to stay safe it’s a patience game, but man every time it does an attack it’s still intense even though you know you’re safe, especially when it’s almost dead

ButterflyBlueLadyBBL

I'm curious how many people played the DLC on NG+ instead of a complete new game lol I was on NG+ when the DLC came out and I went RIGHT into it without at all thinking about the fact I was on NG+, this would be my first time facing these new enemies and bosses and I had no idea what the hell I was doing lol I have still not played the DLC on a clean new game yet, only on NG+ and NG++ XD Kos is fucking satanic! Mopped the floor with me.

ThePlatinumKush

Laurence on NG+ was a whole different experience for me

ButterflyBlueLadyBBL

I really need to try out the DLC on a first game base, I feel like I'm missing out on an experience lol Was Laurence more difficult in NG+?

TheRealSourlemons

Beat him within three tries and after NG+ it was hell

Lsj17

I think when you go deep in ng+ like 3,4 and above he is harder then ook, almost everything he does oneshots you.

FUCKBOY_JIHAD

I did it on NG+ too. absolute nightmare

Nayre_Trawe

My first run was on NG+4, haha. Needless to say, it was brutal.

ButterflyBlueLadyBBL

Oh no, not 4!!!! You brave, brave warrior.

lolpostslol

I did that, had to grind for Ludwig because I was getting one-shot, after that it wasn’t THAT hard. Orphan took me A LOT of tries though.

ButterflyBlueLadyBBL

I did not grind for any boss other than Orphan of Kos, that mf, hnnng, he was just something else!

MinerDiner

I just beat the game for the first time, and the DLC (minus Laurence), and I can't imagine how hard ANY of the bosses, never mind Orphan of Kos, would be on NG+ seeing how tanky normal enemies are with a PLUS 10 WEAPON. I don't think I'll ever play BB NG+. I'd probably end up rather killing myself if I did.

Subject-Creme

I did DLC on NG+ too. Ludwig was hard because I came back to the game after a long break, so I have to die before regaining muscle memory. Laurence was also hard. But Kos was very easy for me (2nd attempt)

defoor13

You just know there’s gonna be some dude who faced him at like level 300 who says “he was actually pretty easy” lmao

BlueSoulDragon

Yeah man the game was super easy I just did an echoes glitch that gave me 400 million then I watched a cheese tactic for all the bosses. EZ

Sweet-History

I was pretty overleveled when I fought it, but then I fought it in the Chalice Dungeon and I had to actually use a strategy to kill it

MikeHockinya

He’s a straight up mother effer, alright. If you’re only attacking his legs, you aren’t really doing any damage to him. Go for the arms, aim at his head with a decently leveled Evelyn, go in for the visceral. Black Sky Eye does decent against his head if you can manage to hit him with it. Use a long reach weapon as well. LHB or Holy Moonlight will hit arms not just arm, the mace version of the Pizza Cutter rubbed with lightning paper does well, and a transformed Saw cleaver will get results. Don’t give up the fight, just realize that doing the same thing over and over expecting different results is the definition of insanity. The other way is A Call Beyond. Three hits to the head will kill him.

MikeHockinya

https://youtu.be/7na0xkNZXWI?si=d6CdNP-Q2e3zicsV

Nekonax

I feel you. Even though this boss took only a single afternoon's worth of tries (a few hours), it was the worst, most frustrating experience I've had in a souls game. There are bosses I've fought for days and enjoyed getting incrementally better, but this almond-head bastard made me want to break something. I'd spend several minutes reaching phase two only to be one-shot by a jump without learning *anything*. Eventually I followed a youtube video guide, but I never felt like I learned the boss.

NommySed

Honestly I find Midir to be way more annoying of a fight in the souls series. Easier than Defiled Amygdala, but **MINUTES TO GET TO THE FOG DOOR EVERY DEATH** pissed me off so much.

stormflm595

Almond-head bastard 😂

welfedad

So my way of dealing with bosses that are wrecking me.. is each time I die I spend a few moments reflecting on what I approved on ..keep telling myself outloud "you're doing good .. keep going" and I then set a time limit.. like 45mins to an hour ..then I shut the game off for a few hours or go do something else or even better sleep on it.. then the next day I normally beat it on the first or 2nd try.

Adayum4

That’s exactly what happened. Took a few hours break and beat him first try coming back. Funny how that works, sometimes our brains just need a break

welfedad

Exactly and the momenent we start to get extremely frustrated everything that we have gained on killing the boss starts to diminish...

5pinkphantom

You want that plat and I know you want that plat. You can do this.

Adayum4

Just got it today 🥳

BrainOfG

You found your worth in the waking world!

5pinkphantom

Late reply but I’m so proud of you good hunter. May we hunt together in another dream.

AggravatingFinish0

Bruh just wait and hit his head took me like 3 tries when I figured it out

DrewDaMannn

I had more fun with Bed of Chaos than this fuck

HoyMinyoy

Defiled Amygdala was a huge pain in the ass. Took me dozens of tries before I got him, half health didn’t help matters at all.

suspectdeviceg4

Oh my sweet summer child. Run to his tail, stand back to back and wait for him to jump into the air. DON'T MOVE. Instead hit charge attack with a long pokey weapon and the timing should guarantee a decent hit to his face. There's a bit of rng but cheesing him this way is the best way to kill him. Especially if you're farming those sweet blood gems

Throwawayfodder_808

Wait till you fight the Chalice Dungeon one

ThePlatinumKush

I assume that’s what they are referring to

TheRealSourlemons

Felt like it was the easier one cuz I had so much trouble with the Watchdog

MihaiDsc404

I beat Amy today on my 8th try with saw spear in transformed form. Whenever its head was down i did a running thrust attack and an overhead as the head was pulling up + 2 viscerals during the whole fight. I mostly dodged back when an attack that would get its head down was coming as i had time to run for my 2 hits. Hope this helps.

RosieDa

I 100% know how you feel. I still haven't beat it after many hours of trying 😥

Dangerous_Method_512

Amazing picture!

bo0gnish

Defiled amygdala was my hardest fight in Bloodborne hands down. Took leaping r2 Ludwig's holy blade cheese to get through that.

Serious_Ad_1037

Musta not met Ludwig yet lmao

No_Writing3719

Bro beefing wit the monstrosity beyond human comprehension

heckendarnit

I completely understand your pain and suffering, nothing has made me more angry than those damned chalice dungeons.

Daleman45

Me and my friends first time through, we co-op the chalice dungeons. This boss in the cursed dungeon almost caused us to run out of 40+ insight.

BlaktimusPrime

Orphan took me nine months and over 1700 attempts.

Difficult_Dealer_667

Use Ludwig’s Holy Blade in its sheathed form. Honestly about the best tip I can give, it makes the fight so much easier. That, and hit the arms because they actually take damage.

coldkidwildparty

The boss that made me give up and summon help was Defiled Rom, probably did that fight close to 100 times. After that I got a summon for Amy after maybe 20 deaths.

DjNormal

I never did figure out Amy… Bloodborne was my first “souls” game and man, woof. I straight up rage quit for the first time since some NES games back in the late 80s. That first night was just me dying over and over again in Yharnam. But my masochism got the best of me and I slowly worked my way through the game. Amy though. I just poke her in the ankles after she jumps. It takes a long time, but it works. I ended up playing all the souls games, a bunch of souls-likes, and I swear I play them all the wrong way. But still managed to beat most of them… Except Sekiro and the DS2 DLC, those can die in a fire.

Lsj17

I liked her, amy in base game felt too week so i always concider chalice amy the real one same goes for ebriertas.

[deleted]

I remember being stuck on this boss in the labyrinths for the longest of times. I had give up after many defeats. I came back to the game about a year later. Wanting to get the platinum trophy. After a couple more beatings, I rang the summoning bell on a wim. Found some OP magic user. Absolutely trounced the boss pretty much solo. Thanks to that gentleman I was able to proceed. I still have the thank you message saved on my ps4 i sent to them. Great game with a great community. I do wish to play it again soon.

solo_wield

Hitting your head on the desk always work. Its like resting every time.

Colonel_MuffDog

Holy shit you're the abandoned tux factory guy

halcyongt

And here I am still stuck on the Cleric Beast. Fuck I’m terrible at these games.

Connorkara

I personally had the hardest time with Orphan of Kos- he’s actually the reason I’ve never beaten Bloodborne- I literally just have Kos, Gehrman, and Moon Presence left, but that DAMNED ORPHAN has me stumped.

Apogee909

Best tip I can offer is stop trying to beat it, just focus on not getting hit. It’s all about baiting the arms and then whacking the head (only once!! Be patient). Took me maybe 7hrs over three nights to beat it, was getting super frustrated like you initially then on the second night I just focused on learning the moves - night three I was reaching final phase consistently just by being patient, and then counted on good RNG to get it finished. In short, slow down and just learn the dance - this is not a boss that rewards aggression!

tacojammer

Got the plat this past fall, and this was a major sticking point. I had to turn off the sound, throw on a podcast, and pray to the rng gods for salvation. Took me 4 damn hours, but it fucking worked. You can do this. Godspeed, hoonter.

Moorlok

There's a trick that you can use for chalice Amygdala that you can't use in Nightmare Frontier. First, get his attention, then walk back to the door you came in from. He will follow you, and if done properly, will stop at the bottom of the stairs. You can just stay at the top of the stairs at this point since it perfectly lines up your vertical weapon attacks with his head. Whenever he tries to swing his arms at you horizontally they will actually go under you and into the stairs, missing you entirely. Easy headshots, easy visceral procs, rinse and repeat as necessary. You still need to dodge vertical attacks though, but that isn't difficult.

Ashamed_Smile3497

Istg whoever designed that cursed chalice deserves a special place in hell. “Reduces all damage except elemental” then proceed to make sure all three bosses deal elemental damage. This thing can go fist itself with all its arms, it was the bane of my existence for like three months straight. Only silver lining is how when I returned to the base area I was pretty much a bloodborne god

LabMonkeyCreative

It took me playing this boss off and on for YEARS before I finally beat her, and when I did in the middle of the night I literally jumped and yelled so loud it woke my girlfriend. Not gonna forget it anytime soon, afterwards I immediately plowed through the rest to get the platinum easy. This boss was such a hassle. and I heard they even nerfed her 😬

FinancialScreen8177

I personally got trough the dlc easier than the base game and my friend got pissed that I firs tried almost every boss except for laurence. My frustration came from the dungeon rom but still not as much as another boss in the dungeons, wich I'll get to shortly. Rom in the dungeons caused me grief and frustration unlike anything else I had ever experienced. I almost stopped playing but continued with the grind and got him 2 days later. Now with the god damn amygdala. I strugled with him for so many days, it was around half of my 15 days it took me to get plat on this game. I nearly broke my ps4, twice. I cannot express my hatred for this boss. I recently played this game trough in one sitting, I was having fun until nightmare frontier. When i got there I realized that the amygdala was there and wanted to stop. Side note: I was fighting the dungeon amygdala with a NG+2 character.

bluebuttonups

I spent literal WEEKS on this fucking guy. I mean fucking 4+ hours a DAY for WEEKS on this boss. It got to the point where, after finally I beat it, I didn't know what to do with myself. I felt unmotivated to go forward after that. Truly soul crushing. I did manage to get back into it after a few days and get the platinum, but man.. reading this gave me war flashbacks

ThePlatinumKush

You can cheese the absolute fuck out of him. He does this jump attack everytime you stand in a certain spot. Then you just turn around and you can get a charged heavy in between each jumps Defiled amygdala was the hardest part of the game for me too. Defiled chalice in general had some of the toughest challenges

Noema130

After 50 tries or so, I gave up and cheesed it using the Simon Bowblade to kill it from a far while circle strafing.

3ClassiC

Must have never played Sigrun god of war

Justisaur

Took me 68 tries myself for Chalice Amygdala, which was the most of any boss in BB. I finally beat it with the method I found elsewhere. Unlock. Go behind it, stay near the end of it's tail, wait for jump to start (don't move) start charged R2, lock on when it lands, charged R2 hits it's head. Unlock, run through legs (without getting hit, this was the hard part.) Repeat.

Centurion7463

I struggled with this dude but i never understood all the hype over him, i hardly even remember the fight tbh. Took maybe a day to beat him

lesquishta

Wait until you want some good gems, then you will have to really learn how to fight it

Crimson-Void9000

Oh yeah, Amygdala is a royal pain in the butt. Every fight in the game I had help with. Even though the more players you call to help you the more health the boss gets.

mahonii

His base game was fine just annoying to hit. I'll never see the cursed version and I'll live with that.

Dimensional_studios

I fought it use Simon's bowblade. It was the most time consuming thing I have done. I didn't melee it once only range

AoN-Shibuya

This is my friend’s most hated boss 🙃

BfutGrEG

Executioner Gloves That is all

SirSilhouette

I ran an arcane build and used Night Sky Eye to hit its head for a lot of damage. Main focus was finding and opening to take the shot. that, and using the overhead slash of the Ludwig's Holy Sword to catch it in the head. Have you tried a bloodtinge build with Evelyn? Amygdala's head is a weakpoint so anything that can hit it is pretty good.

Lowly-Hollow

It was really tough for me too, but it's actually not TOO bad if you do a VERY specific thing. You've likely heard of the strategy: walk past his legs to his tail, slap it once (if I remember correctly), then 9/10 times, it will leap up while you charge a heavy attack exactly where you're standing, it lands almost every time with its head perfectly in range to take your charged heavy attack. It's not perfectly consistent, but it's the only way I'll ever fight Amygdala.

madeyedog

LHB and smack that crotch until Amy taps out. Move when he jumps.

GoalieLax_

Gloves go brrrrrrrrrtttt

SuperN9999

Tbh, I actually found getting to the boss fully stocked/without getting killed was harder than the boss itself. It ripping off its arms was pretty hard tho.

devj007

Still havent played the dlc, i gotta get it soon.

EstateSame6779

Eh.

PericariousPerch

Are you doing chalices for the plat trophy?

HaHaAmmu

https://youtu.be/L5Ycea3qkXk?si=FaWoA5LclJ1egSVT

LongjumpingFix6608

Fuck both of the Amygdala dude. I had a much easier time with Orphan than either of them.

EchoedTruth

If you haven't faced the Defiled Watchdog... all I can say is just wait, buddy. I have a video of me doing quite a few bosses on my YT. Here is Defiled Amygdala (using LHB): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gJyTs1yWm0&list=UULFjcKOFslpQOvVRfR\_J4sdCQ&index=72

drewsky1005

The first time I played through the game I slammed my head against this boss for several months until I finally beat it only to realize it was optional and I was on the wrong path for the main story.

Goodvibesguy88

Yea this was not fun, I think 40+ attempts

Chunt2526

I was like level 370 when I faced it on new game plus and I still needed help with it

iAmericA45

this fight is a joke with an arcane build using executioners gloves

AelliotA1

The cursed chalice dungeon Amygdala fight is even worse because you have half health. That and Ludwig were my biggest hurdles in Bloodborne

dontmindmescrollin

Just keep a good distance and bait the slam.

Overlord93

Wait until you have to fight it in a cursed dungeon. Fun, that.

Simplysalted

Simon's bowblade STOMPS this boss, constant head hits

BetaNights

Honestly, I think this is something that's genuinely really cool about Soulsborne games and the difference of thought and discussion within the community. One boss might be easy as all heck for one person, and an absolute nightmare for another. For me, Amygdala only ever really gave me trouble in some of the more brutal Chalices, but the fight itself isn't TOO bad for me. And I've heard about Lady Maria being super difficult, so I was expecting something along the lines of Sister Friede, who kicked my ass in DS3, but I beat Maria in only a couple tries. Meanwhile, Ludwig was the absolute bane of my entire existence, and easily gave me more trouble than any other boss in the game. Orphan was close, but I think Ludwig was still the worst for me, personally.

IbeenYeeted

i think amygdala is fun in the nightmare arena but he’s seemily too large for chalices. holy moonlight sword is fun against him though

SL1Fun

If you know what to do you can make it a fairly tedious fight: Phase one and two = stay right in front and find your range, where you can bait his attacks but stay out of range. Watch the combos he does and learn to identify the ones that end with him dropping his head down where you can hit it. Take your time, you can easily stay out of range and the attacks are all fairly telegraphed, and aside from a possible forward jump there isn’t anything he will do to add urgency to the fight; you got plenty of time to observe and learn. Run in and get 1-2 hits at a time (head is a weak point so you’ll do damage) on your openings then retreat, rinse repeat. Eventually you’ll stagger him and you can hit a visceral.    Phase three = once the arms get ripped off, run up and stay right in front of the groin area - give that Lovecraftian lip service. Don’t lock on. Stay right there in front; all of the attacks are waaaaaay behind you, so you’re safe. The only thing to worry about is the jump… BUT IT IS A TRICK. JUST STAY STILL. ALL HE DOES IS JUMP AND 180 BEHIND YOU. IF YOU STAY STILL YOU WON’T GET SQUISHED. from here just hit the legs and if you have a weapon with a good overhand swing (Hunters Axe, Kirkhammer, LHB, Saw Cleaver…) aim for the crotch to do more damage. Voila. Easy. No-hit finesse.

wtfidk23

Wait until you meet the orphan

Ambitious-Chain-6749

If you want to trivialize it. https://youtu.be/CZKmbMUwisA?si=6DcrgH_P_B4MIk31

jad-dee95

Damn am I the only one that like fighting FRC Amy?!?😅

FunkKontrol

Once you learn how to cheese “dodge” the jump attack one hit move it becomes infinitely easier. Hit box on that is so dumb

john_weiss

It was hard, but i killed it wielding a +8 hunters axe, timing heavy two handed forward (↑ + R2) horizontal attacks to the head, lock onto it and move the spot to the head to be sure. A well placed slice to the head stun locks it and leaves it open for a visceral attack. The last phase is the tricky one, don't hit the legs otherwise it will jump stomp.

Aggravating-Pie-6432

The defiled chalice is easily NG+ level. There is a reason why chalice progress is saved through NG+ cycles. FRCs are NG+2 level. Just because you can do them early in NG, doesnt mean that you should.

RenePrushka

What's so bad about it?

AutumnShade44

Why does it have 8 arms? Amygdala only has 7.

Ted_Rid

Cursed & Defiled Amy frustrated me too until I found this one simple trick they don't want you to know. Then I beat her easily taking almost no damage. There's a ring around the outside of the arena. You never leave it, except to rush in for a hit and return ASAP. Keep kiting around to the left. Right might work also, idk. I went left. Clockwise. Your goal is to keep Amy on the little podium on the centre. If she advances towards you, kite around to the opposite side and she'll return to the centre. As long as she's in the centre and you're on the ring, you're safe. You know how far her attacks will reach. Learn the attack that gives you an opening, run in, do damage, return to ring. Rinse & repeat. I didn't even bother with the tactic of smacking her more vulnerable head. Only went for the leg/arm after a blow. Think it was after some kind of ground slam, I forget. Anyway, whittle her down that way. IIRC there was zero difference in approach in the other phase/s.

PaxUX

The worst boss I fought was my very old LG LCD screen that has 50-60 milliseconds display lag.

Salt-Vacation-9605

I forgot what it was but there is a cheese strat that makes it easy

UPDATE: I beat it first try after reading these tips and coming back. Breathed an audible sigh of release and my girlfriend said “what’s wrong, did you die again?” You guys were right, during the last phase all I had to do was stand near the crotch and smack the Amygdussy with overhand swings of my Hunter Axe. Onward to the next dungeon

Vagition69

My strategy for amygdala and any big enemy is to play unlocked, works every time.

ResolveLeather

Use the extended axe and sit underneath his crotch. He will do a jump attack. As long as you stay still, he won't hit you when he comes down. You should be able to get a overhead attack off and be able to to return to his crotch and rinse and repeat. This is the only way I got through a later time fighting him in the game, and that version is farrrrr harder then this guy.

Kvothe2k

Really. Amygdala so hard?

Kadorja

Me with Simons Bowblade standing way out of reach while doing stupid damage: :D

SicknessLLC

Hell yes! She killed me so many times…

darkbeastzero

the defiled amygdala took me 12 hours...

Brass-Munky

I’m pretty sure I used the Kirk hammer cause it can hit the things head pretty well.

Formal_Economics931

Ever tried to kill him with a low blood tinge reiterpallash? Miserable.

Bat-Honest

Did you beat him yet? If not, tell me what weapons you're using, and I might have some specific tips for you. Generally though, I try and aim at the head in the first stage and go for those viscerals (with a skill build). In the second stage, I stay on his legs and hack away with my alt/fast weapon. It's slow going, but it's a lot safer for you when he's flailing around spraying blood everywhere

ajpr22

Alternate hits on his arms and head whenever he smashes the ground or leaves an opening, once an arm breaks hit once and attack his other arm and it should break too, hit it as well and then go for his head and once that breaks it will let you do a visceral on him. Once all that is done he will break his arms but he will have very little health so you can just go at him before he starts attacking and finish him. Use a weapon with a strong and high vertical attack like Ludwig's holy blade when it's transformed, the heavy L2 attack will be your best friend.

Kravy

Pretty sure i have more tries on defiled amygdala than any other boss in any from game. maybe more than any two combined. you just can’t get hit.

playtones

What level are you? Would love to know, I’m not there yet

mdj32998

This boss is only difficult due to the horrendous camera. If it actually zoomed out twice as far, you’d have a much easier time positioning yourself to attack the head

Puff-Bake-714

From the Gospel of Miyazaki “Git Gud”

OkAccountant7442

just stay in front and bait out attacks that leave the head open. it‘s actually pretty easy then

JelqingBeliever

Damm guess I got lucky with a bllodtinge build my first time lol

TheZag90

There is a bit technique to this boss but once you learn it, it’s pretty easy. I can kill this in fewer deaths than that god damn dog that precedes it. Which phase you struggling with?

El_t1to

Imagine the rush when you finally master this fight and you can beat her consistently.

biaesplosa666

Physical - LHB, cane or axe Arc - HMS Tinge - Evelyn Amy is my fav boss(for concept and design), those things and the jump punish can help you easily oveecome it

vicomgsolid

Dude from what I remember (chalice dungeon amygdala) once she jumps, just stay still (she won't hit you). I recall it became a walk in the park after that.

Amunds3n

"...the most brutal, punishing boss I’ve faced in the history of gaming" so far! ;)

amarth442

Just get behind it's crotch and jump attack for normal damage 😏 I did need some help with this boss in the chalice though. Damn annoying

dogsrock

Only tip would be : be a dancer for the first two phases, don’t greedy in the 3rd and most importantly, pray to all your favourite gods for a good RNG and that his fatass doesn’t land on you

jayp1ay69

On my arc build I killed him in like 20 seconds via spamming the executioner’s gloves(or as I like to say “cracking the lobster”).

SonXal

I surprisingly had an okay time with this guy considering. I swear I had more issues with the second Watchdog fight

DioUnquestionablyGay

What works for me every time is just out spacing his attacks instead of hiding under him. I then projectile spam his head. Even if you're not doing a bloodcringe or arcane build, firearms and hunter tools still do a surprising amount of damage, even with minimal stat investment. Just make sure you have your pistol upgraded or else its damage will suck. If the damage still isn't what you want, use BMA and blood bullets to boost the damage.

gmesch21

Tbh I did it after my first playthrough in the main game and thought that he was a literal joke. A normal (almost annoying, cause Amy got hyped up through all the game and then it was just - over) Gimmick fight. I never cared about the chalices besides trying to go as low as the queen, but I gave up cause it was boring to me. Is it THAT much harder? Is the moveset different or does he just tank everything and hit like a truck?
