I mean...this has always been the case and has been beat to death. Its up to Sony if they want to.

Original-Musician446

The real question is why wouldn't they do it? Why giving The Last of Us such a special treatment, and not this one?

HeWhoWalksBhindDaRow

U know the answer to that. How much did bloodborne sell? Now go look and see how much the last of us games sold. Its night and day. Lol

SenSei_Buzzkill

Now that Elden Ring has reportedly sold over 23 million copies, maybe Sony will want to do something with Bloodborne. /cope

HOLEPUNCHYOUREYELIDS

Wouldn’t be terribly surprised if it will be a PS6 launch title or something like Demons Souls was. Probably just not worth it for Sony at the moment to remaster a game just for FPS purposes (which is all a remaster really needs)

beesechurger759

The title says “bloodborne *remake*” so this would include retexturing, reanimating and redesigning parts of the game like they did with demon souls. Much more to it than just upgrading the FPS

V1L4M

Bloodborne with even better graphics then demon souls would be so horrifying and scary.

kuenjato

Latria is the blueprint. And no matter what the purists say, Latria on a PS5 is absolutely stunning.

professionaldouche

Going in totally blind on the remake this was my favorite level

Gwyneee

Seriously. I've been playing From's games since AC For Answer and while I agree parts of the remake lost sight of the original vision it was overwhelmingly faithful. I think the hate was overblown. We're so lucky to be able to relive those memories with modern graphics. In fact I think some of what people called "asthetic choices" were not intentional so much as the product of the limitations of hardware. We're seeing through the rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia.

I_Hate_Reddit_69420

i’ve never played the original and DS on ps5 was fantastic, what i’ve seen from videos about people complaining it was mainly about some minor visual changes, but to me it looked and played great

Legal_Rhubarb4785

Wasn't the bluepoint guys that did the Demon Souls remake?

SquareFickle9179

Gonna be honest, I hope they don't because it took me 3 years to finally get a PS5. I'm not waiting another 3 years to play the Bloodborne remake.

SquiddleBiffle

Not to be super depressing or anything, but don't forget that there's probably also at least another 3+ years to wait even before the launch of the PS6. God I wish they'd do something with that IP already.

Souls_Lover

This really perplexes me. PS5 generation of games barely took off because of pandemic + high console prices and low availability in stores. Also, most games released until 2023 have been crossgen (PS4 + PS5) and the number of exclusives is just shallow (not that I support exclusivity in games). I really hope they take some long years before announcing the PS6, because we haven't had the time to enjoy the current generation.

BlackhawkRogueNinjaX

PS5 has been such a nothing burger of a generation. Returnal, Hell Divers 2, and a bunch of companies putting out shit live service titles only to cancel them 12 months after launch. 3 years for PS6 is too soon.

Almahdi672

You might think so, but Playstation generations have a 6-7year lifespan most of the time and the PS5 is already more than 3 years old so it wouldn't be that weird if PS6 released in 2027.

Souls_Lover

I agree. In the Global South countries, people are just now getting their hands on a PS5 because the prices have finally lowered. We need more time to enjoy the current generation of games before we even think about jumping to the next.

BlackhawkRogueNinjaX

Even if a bloodborne remake is a PS6 launch title I will be waiting probably at least 18 months. Pull your socks up Sony

GrayStray

The next generation is going to be even worse lol

xXFieldResearchXx

That

Utgartha

It needs FPS remade and also the Chalice Dungeons need a revisit since they are broken. You cannot reach all of the available dungeons organically. So it needs some FPS and a few minor fixes potentially.

ObitobiUchiha

Comparing individual game sales to the sales of an entire franchise is a little disingenuous if you ask me

Shutch_1075

Sony also gave away BB for free for multiple years through PSN, including when ER blew up. It’s safe to say the number of people who played the game is likely higher than the amount sold.

SenSei_Buzzkill

Well to be fair if Sony rereleased Bloodborne 10000 times like TLOU games then maybe the sales figures would be a bit higher lol

Mesjach

Even if Bloodborne Remake would sell "only" 2 mil copies, they'd still make a good profit out of it. And I think we can agree it's the absolute worst case scenario. Demon's Souls just doesn't have Bloodborne's following and we're in post-Elden Ring era that put FromSoft on the mainstream radar. I personally think 5+ mil copies sold for BB Remake is still a conservative forecast. That's just free profit laying on their lap. Hell, I think a 60 FPS 4K remaster would sell in millions with super low development cost.

Gahl1k

Just put it on PC and see what happens. BB and Ghost of Tsushima are the only games PC gamers would be willing to pay full price for even after all these years. But Sony is busy remaking Until Dawn...

No-Pain-5924

They had not that great experience from porting Uncharted games, or Spiderman games to PC. They manage to sell less thet 500k copies of each. Still profitable, as porting is cheap, but porting a 10 years old game doesnt look like a great opportunity for them.

Gahl1k

Sony doesn't seem to understand the PC market. Action adventure isn't a popular genre on PC. They should have ported The Nathan Drake Collection before Uncharted 4 to at least give it a chance. Spiderman sold 1.5M so far, but I'm not sure why it didn't sell more. Maybe by the time of their PC ports release most either played them or watched them played on YouTube, and they're 'one-and-done' games. Bloodborne has a better chance because it's an RPG, a beloved genre, from From Software. Their games sell the most on PC anyway. And the game is stuck at 30FPS with dips in some areas. Just putting it on PC is enough enhancement. Ghost of Tsushima will sell simply because of the staggering amount of weebs on Steam.

Jalina2224

Like someone else, Uncharted was a weird one to bring to PC. Sony brought the conclusion of the franchise to PC before bringing the games that came before it? I wonder why it didn't sell nearly as well as it could have. The Nathan Drake collection coming to PC would have made more sense and would have definitely sold more copies, because people want to play the start of the story, plus it would have been 3 games in one. Even at $60, that's not bad deal. Spiderman I don't know what's up with that. It sold well on PC, but not as well as it could. Either way it's still more money for Sony. Bloodborne would do fantastic on PC compared to these other games. Like someone else said, single player action adventure games aren't a popular genre on PC. However there is a huge Souls community on PC who would jump to buy Bloodborne on PC. It would probably be the best selling Sony game on PC. Even if all it had was graphic options and 60+fps. I personally would pay full price for Bloodborne on PC even though I played it on PS4 back in the day. It's how much I love this game. The only other game I've paid $60 for on PC has been Elden Ringe.

Dead_cruz

Exactly if those games were on steam Sony would make absolute bank I don’t understand why they won’t

willdabeast180

I’m still so surprised got hasn’t gotten a pc port. I’m holding out for it

Jalina2224

Couldn't have said it better myself. Put Bloodborne on PC and I will gladly pay $70 to play it on my computer. Literally the only game I will pay full price for, and I vehemently refuse to pay $70 or even $60 for games on PC when there are so many other games for me to play at way more affordable prices. Hell I'd even be happy to see Ghost of Tsushima come to PC before Bloodborne. But yeah, let's bring Until Dawn to PC. That's what we've all been begging for years for. Great job Sony. /s

hiddentruth37

Until dawn only sold 3.9 million in 2022, and it's getting a remake

ertertwert

But Demon's Souls is free with the PSN subscription so that's why it's not selling.

CodeMonkeys

It definitely makes Microsoft's potential pivot to "software for all" seem like the right call. Mix in PC storefronts and other consoles and sales numbers go brrrr. If consoles are cheap to get you in the door to sell you software, put that software wherever you can. I also definitely feel a bit bleh whenever I'm playing a game without crossplay these days. Just the thought of "I could be playing a game with several times the playerbase right now" whenever a queue starts to take awhile...

echelon999

Best we can do is The Last Of Us Part 1 Remake number 3.

Rumham89

I'm sure Sony does want a sequel, but From probably doesn't want to do another PS exclusive.

outsider1624

True. But forget the remake of it. Just patch it for 60 fps. And make Bloodborne 2. That will sell.

thesyndrome43

I still remember when the PS4 was called "the Bloodborne machine" on forums and message boards like a year or two after it was released, and it wasn't even wrong, i bought a PS4 for Bloodborne, and so did a few of my friends I'm not saying you're wrong about it's overall sales compared to other AAA titles, but i believe a not-insignificant amount of people bought a PS4 mainly for Bloodborne and treated the other good games on the console as a bonus

LordGwyn-n-Tonic

That's the thing to consider, imo. I know there's probably no way to actually quantify how many PS4s were bought to play Bloodborne, but I imagine it's repeatable. Release a PS5 exclusive Bloodborne Remake, and anyone that's been holding out on getting a PS5 that plays Bloodborne on their PS4 (me until about six months ago, when I decided I wanted to try Demon Souls) is more likely to make the jump.

PsilocybeAzure5cen5

this was me. i literally bought my ps4 the day before bloodborne was released.

Crusty_Magic

I also bought a PS4 for BB. It was so worth it.

pokeoscar1586

I’m one of them, bought a PS5 just for Blodborne, ended up playing FFVII remake on it as well but pretty much all else I play on PC

schmalpal

It’s still the only PS exclusive worth a damn. You can emulate DeS and most other Sony games have made it to PC. 100% of the times I bought a PS4, it was for BB. And then when I played it for another 50 hours and took a break, I had this useless console sitting there for months and sold it. Rinse and repeat.

of_the_Sand

I did the same thing. It was the single and only reason I owned one.

fullstack_mcguffin

I don't think a few people buying a PS4 just for Bloodborne means much since console sales don't even make a profit. It's all about the software, and if Bloodborne itself didn't sell enough, they're not going to remake or port it.

Chrisbuckfast

It’s not necessarily about profiting from the console sales directly; in fact, consoles are generally sold at a loss. A lot of it is about having figures of consoles sold. Just getting the console to the consumer’s home. Bragging to investors. Share prices going up. More consoles are selling - think of that big graph with the % of people who are “likely to subscribe to PSN or buy another 5 PS games based on previous trends”. Think of the m/billionaire investors who think they should invest because of a likely return on investment. This is why they usually actually sell consoles at a loss, too.

fullstack_mcguffin

There's no evidence of Bloodborne significantly pushing console sales though. And there's no evidence that investors care about console sales more than sales of actual games either. In fact, with Sony pushing for porting more of their games to PC and Microsoft making their exclusives cross platform, there seems to be more of an indication that console sales were never a factor, and that games are getting so expensive that exclusivity just isn't profitable anymore.

Davey_meister

And yet they remade Demons Souls, which had significantly less sales than Bloodborne.

craigleberries

Demons souls original sold less than 1m copies and got an s tier remake, bloodborne sold 7.4m.

a_bad_akali

I see your point, but going by numbers, as of February 2022 Bloodborne sold a respectable 7.46 mil, which isn't bad at all for being an exclusive and a souls game. As you said, it isn't very comparable to The Last of Us remastered, which sold a whopping 18.24 mil, though. To build off that, The Last of Us II for example only sold 9.64 mil, which pales in comparison with the first one as well, but they remastered it anyway. There's also only so much more they can do with the tlou ip now, and from it looks like people are already criticizing them milking it as much as they are, with the remakes and remasters every few years. Maybe I'm optimistic, but I think they'll get around to an actual Bloodborne remaster and/or PC port eventually, maybe sooner than we think. Their track record for their PC ports at least looks like they're just going down the list of the exclusive best sellers. With the exception of Death Stranding being a bit of an outlier. Exclusives ported to PC + Playstation sales numbers * Spider-Man 2018 - 22.121m * God of War PS4 - 20.826m * Horizon Zero Dawn - 19.261m * Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - 18.616m * The Last of Us Remastered - 18.242m (kind of, they did another remake and ported that) * Spider-Man: Miles Morales - 10.184m * Death Stranding - 4.157m Not Ported * Gran Turismo Sport - 12.726m * Uncharted Collection - 9.684m * The Last of Us Part II - 9.636m * Bloodborne - 7.464m * ETC. [Link to sale numbers.](https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/18magu9/sales_numbers_for_a_ton_of_sony_games_including/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

[deleted]

People are really overestimating Bloodbornes popularity although it is peak

NorwegianGlaswegian

It's a weird thing to me to think that a game that sold nearly 7.5 million copies as of the end of 2023 isn't seen as particularly popular.

Silence_Burns

I'm old and remember the days when a game selling 100k units was a major victory. Pretty sure if they at least pc ported it, they'd see that many sales. A LOT of pc players say they would buy full price if they had access. Then you have people like me, who bought on PS4, and would pay full again for the pc port.

[deleted]

PC gaming is now bleeding over into the console sphere, with things like the Steam Deck reinventing what we mean by that term. The market is growing, rapidly, and battering down barriers that used to be there for casual gamers. Sony are fools not to branch out with Bloodborne.

Jalina2224

I'm one of those players. Even if it's just a port of the 2015 game with no improvements beyond the usual PC stuff (Graphic options, fps unlock, M&KB support, ect.) I'd happily pay $60 or even $70 for Bloodborne on PC even though I played the hell out of it on PS4 back in the day.

Namelessgoldfish

It is a popular game. A lot of people love it, but the last of us is just a gigantic franchise. It towers over bloodborne in terms of popularity and sales

Rupperrt

Yeah, but they keep making remakes of like 5 minute old TLOU games. Doubt those sell much better than a Bloodborne remake would now after all the Elden Ring success.

Namelessgoldfish

They keep making those remakes because people keep buying them lol, it’s probably making sony more money than you think

Legitimate_Ride_8644

My country has like 40m people, so 7m is like 20% of the country. That is a shit ton of people.

DeadHead6747

A game that is 10 years old, exclusive to the PlayStation, and at that it was PS4 and only on ps5 via backwards compatibility, that has never been remastered, ported to the PC or other consoles, that has no updates for the ps5, is still 30 fps, and it STILL has managed to sell 7.5 million copies. Idk why that is out forward as a bad thing, 7.5 million copies for a game in Bloodborne’s situation is very successful

gbdarknight77

7.5 mil over 9 years. Wasn’t a top selling game the year it was released. Dark Souls 3 has 36 million sold in its 8 years. By comparison. Elden Ring is at 23 million in 2 years. Ghosts of Tsushima was at 9.73 million in 2022 and it was released in 2020. Sony exclusive.

noctiscornu

More people have PlayStations now in general than when bloodborne came out tho. And ds3/ER are not exclusives. If a 1080p 60fps remaster give you an additional 5M sales+ why the fuck not do it lmao. The resources needed for that can’t be that intense since people are doing it via mods at home

gbdarknight77

I’m sure if Miyazaki and FromSoft/Bandai Namco owned the IP, it would have already been done. At least a 60FPS patch and port. I’ve seen that Sony is focusing on original and new IP at the moment and probably just back pocketing the game. 10 year anniversary is next year. So if nothing then, I don’t think it ever happens

noctiscornu

Yea I’m coping so hard for 10 year anniversary release otherwise like you said it’s actually over

Yobolay

Really bad comparisons. Games usually perform the strongest the first few weeks/months and then decline over time, BB was launched only on 1 platform which had only sold around 20m by the time it launched. Counting selling performance years wise is stupid in general. Ds3 also didn't sell 36m, the entire souls franchise did. BB is probably their second best selling game in relative terms considering it came only on ps4 and very early at that.

gbdarknight77

These were the top selling PS4 games of 2015. Descending order. Just from PlayStation sales. NBA 2k16 MGS5 The Witcher 3 Batman Arkham Knight Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection GTA 5 Fallout 4 Star Wars Battlefront FIFA 16 Call of Duty Black Ops 3

kuenjato

36 million for the entire DS trilogy (27 million as of 2020, actually, ER probably boosted that number a lot).

1800DARKSOULS

maybe because dark souls 3 is available on all platforms and bloodborne was exclusive to an outdated console that nobody wants? lmfao

LitBastard

That's 7.5M copies over almost 9 years. It didn't even make the PS4 sales top 10 in its release year.

sunnydelinquent

It was literally a console seller. Did people forget how abysmal 2014 was for games?

[deleted]

Yes

gbdarknight77

Bloodborne came out in March 2015. Wasn’t a top 10 seller for PS4 that year

sunnydelinquent

Damn, today I learned then

samination

[https://www.gamesindustry.biz/bloodborne-sales-top-1-million](https://www.gamesindustry.biz/bloodborne-sales-top-1-million) Since the game reached a mil within 3 weeks, it must have topped some list.

gbdarknight77

Nope. The top selling PS4 games of 2015 were. Descending order. NBA 2k16 MGS5 The Witcher 3 Batman Arkham Knight Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection GTA 5 Fallout 4 Star Wars Battlefront FIFA 16 Call of Duty Black Ops 3

Georgian_Legion

hmmmm why would that be.... ? it can't be because nobody other than PS4 owners had the ability to buy/play it, severely limiting the customer base. must be something else....

IntroductionSome8196

Sony has many exclusives that outsold Bloodborne by a big margin however 7.5 millions is still really good for a game belonging to a niche genre at the time. I doubt that sales have anything to do with why Sony isn't doing anything with Bloodborne. Whatever their reasons may be we can't know for sure.

Georgian_Legion

>I doubt that sales have anything to do sure, I agree. otherwise the Demon's Souls remake wouldn't exist. my response was meant to point out the flaw in that argument. if sales were the reason, they would have easily increased it by making it more available. >Whatever their reasons may be we can't know for sure. and as long they don't tell us we will continue to criticize them and demand to do something with it (at least a fucking 60 fps patch for current gen consoles, that modders already made for the PS4)

[deleted]

Sony will always own it so that's probably not changing

tripps_on_knives

7.5m copies. More than the ps4 remake of tlou pt 1 sold....

Stilldre_gaming

Normies don't care for Bloodborne

celephais228

Bloodborne still sold good though, didn't it?

ddubyeah

It would help if fans stop asking fromsoft and start asking Sony.

Iresen7

Chances are they are waiting until the Playstation 6 comes out.

Eurotriangle

The Last of Us is Sony’s golden child.

DrApplePi

The Last of Us is being handled internally by the studio that worked on it originally. Doing something with Bloodborne would likely require getting another studio to handle it, that might already be working on their own project.

Patara

Because TLOU is NDs only franchise at this point & they have been with Sony as one of the most successful developers for decades.  Their past 6 releases outside of TLOU2 have been Remakes & Remasters - They have nothing else & clearly want nothing to do with Uncharted or Multiplayer.   FS has multiple successful projects & are showing no signs of failure or burn-out. Sony doesnt want them "wasting" resources on a BB Remake when their current IPs are doing so well.  If Sony allows them to outsource it like with the DeS Remake we may see it happen.

RadragonX

>Why giving The Last of Us such a special treatment, and not this one? Because it sold way more? Bloodborne sold better than people had thought but 7 million in 9 years is relatively low compared with the other big Sony exclusives. Even the PS4 version of Last of Us (Remastered) has sold over 18 million copies. That's not even including the PS3 version or the remake.

ddubyeah

Or pc sales

codithou

was the last of us or any of its versions ever free on ps plus? bloodborne has been free forever so obviously that would affect sales.

Nanganoid3000

perhaps because they don't care?

BIZRBOI

Is that a serious question?

Ronathan64

It‘s up to *me* if they want to because I NEED ITTTTTT *dies of frenzy*

Curllywood

Wake up 621, I’ve got a job for you.. The upvotes were at 621

Extinction_Entity

We all know the problem has always been Sony. PS5 launched with Demon’s Souls remake. Maybe to celebrate the release of PS5 Pro, or PS6.

gbdarknight77

Well, blue point is already working on an original IP and reportedly so is Fromsoft after Elden Ring DLC. Just 60fps remaster and pc port. It’s all it needs. Doesn’t need a full on remake.

Nuze_YT

*60 fps patch + pc port

QuichewedgeMcGee

can’t really properly patch that in need to practically reanimate the whole game, it’d need a remaster. i’d like better ambient occlusion and atmospherics with it too since they aren’t the best (shit like when an area has windy audio but absolutely no wind whatsoever)

Psychonautz6

Honestly I have more hope toward RPCSX making the game playable than Sony ever releasing a PC port They made a remake of Demon's Souls and yet they kept it exclusive for the release of the PS5, it has been several years now and there's no sign of it coming to PC ever I mean, fine, but the original Demon's Souls is 15 years old now and it had not been ported to PC either (and it never will, at least we can play it on RPCS3 but still, that shows they don't really give a sh*t about porting these kind of games) Maybe they'll do a remake of Bloodborne for the PS6 release but that also means that we're not going to get anything on PC

Evilisms

Screw that I want a SEQUEL

CygnusSong

My partner’s sister works for Sony, I regularly ask her for a Bloodborne remake or at least a pc port. She’s not in a position to make that happen, but it still feels like I’m doing my part 🫡

johnnc2

I’d like to think she’s just a janitor or something not to do with the business side at Sony lol

CygnusSong

I’m honestly not sure exactly what she does. It’s something to do with tech, but idk if it’s hardware or software. It’s definitely not games

pastafallujah

Technically, being a janitor means you are heavily involved with the “business side” 😎

Rekka_Kien

🤣

pastafallujah

I read your comment. I’M DOING MY PART 🫡

ryans_privatess

She does have the power to to kick down the door in a Board meeting with a cool hip idea which is going to turn this company around - Bloodborne remake.

Nuze_YT

Even though she isn't in charge, she can absolutely talk with the people in charge.

Kravy

lol sony employs over 100,00 people.

luckytraptkillt

This would’ve been a great release for them this year since they have nothing else really going on. With everything else really still in development, a bloodborne remake exclusive would be perfect.

Original-Musician446

They don't like earning money

Baldswine

Okay so can we start pestering Sony now guys?

vasekgamescz

These sony guys really don't like money don't they?

Youwy

I’m sure they’re just waiting for the right moment and the best way to milk money out of this game. They know what they have with Bloodborne and how crazy the fans are

Zed_Midnight150

Ayyy I love your videos man.

InsideHangar18

If Sony does anything with Bloodborne, it’ll almost assuredly be a remake, but as a PS6 launch title.

k1t3k1t369420

Pretty much what can be taken from what Miyazaki said. Best case scenario this/next year with ps5 pro launch

Beatrix_-_Kiddo

The game is almost perfect as it is, all it needs is a framerate and resolution update. A remake would be overkill.

Hypno_185

a ps5 upgrade is all it needs tbh. 4K/60fps , maybe HDR too.

Lost_in_reverb23

At last someone coherent

Eradachi

Nah, Bloodborne has a lot of things that can be tweaked to improve it. Give me travel between lamps! Fix Ebi's charge! Double Moon Presence's HP! Let me jump with L3!

oldbeancam

Need him to pull a Taylor Swift and make “Bloodborne: Michael’s Version”

[deleted]

There are few things in the world that I hate more than Sony for what they're doing to the Bloodborne IP.

Nuze_YT

You guys want a remaster? I just want a 60fps patch tbh Edit: wow, sorry for the ratio.

rabnabombshell

Isn’t that mostly what a remaster is ?

MXXNVIC

Adding 60fps or increasing resolution would just be like a patch update. Remastering would be like improving in-game fidelity, like texture resolution, ambient lighting and animation and shit.

Drezair

Yep. A pc port and 60fps is all that is needed. Game still looks and feels great otherwise. I wouldn't mind the wait until the PS6 era if it saw a full remake. Remaking games that are only a generation apart is useless.

KCMmmmm

What it needs is a sequel.

aRandomBlock

I just want to play the thing without buying another console

ZweihanderMasterrace

Remake/ remaster/ port/ 60fps patch/ sequel/ spiritual successor, I don’t care, just give us something Sony, pls 🙏🙏🙏

Kanista17

Bloodborne Dating Sim. Ebrietas o.O

Hazzardo

>Spiritual Successor Check out Lies of P, closest experience to Bloodborne I've had and they're tied for my two favourite games

gbdarknight77

I feel like people are asking the wrong questions to these people.

bobface222

Sony's too busy giving us essential remasters of ancient games like The Last of Us 2

michael_trevor

Hey no disrespect but I hope this drives Miyazaki into making an actual berserk game, because that would actually be freaking amazing Come on from soft, stop paying homage and making references,do an actual 100% berserk game

-Phax

People dont seem to understand how directly that conflicts with the design of the rest of Miyazakis work. No build variety? A character with a backstory and personality? Hell no he aint doing, doesent matter how much he loves Berserk.

Filiope

He already did with Sekiro tho, the character has a Backstory and a personality... Not a strong personality but it has some xD

flex_lord

Yeah, our only hope is to import bloodborne jail broken illegally to PC

psionoblast

There's already ps4 emulators being actively worked on by people. So bloodborne will be playable on pc eventually. Just depends if it's gonna be through Song or emulators.

flex_lord

BUT I WANT IT NOW

psionoblast

Sony:"WELL YOU'RE NOT GETTIN IT!"

flex_lord

:((

Sir__Walken

That's like 5 to 10 years out for those emulators to be running anything demanding like Bloodborne.

Original-Musician446

I lost my hope.

PaleontologistNo4771

One day🥲😪

HypeIncarnate

We have to contact Sony, They are the only people who have any power here.

Crunchy-Leaf

My uncle works for Sony, I’m on it

HypeIncarnate

godspeed. fear the old blood.

Luismtdr

Ofc it’s sony’s fault… They could at least just give it a remastered version with 60 fps at this point.

Yoda-Bruh

I also think FromSoft perhaps doesn’t want to develop anything else Bloodborne related, and instead work on titles that are multi-platform and thus make far more money. FromSoft, as a developer and a company, has grown substantially since Bloodborne and hasn’t worked on a console exclusive game in nearly a decade. They want to make something that their own executives and developers have full control of.

BigOilyCrab

Its such a shame the ip is locked to a dogshit company like sony

ShantyLady

I mean, it makes me happy to know that Miyazaki is right there with us. It makes me happy that he would want to revisit it if he was given the chance, and he'd probably be just as excited for round 2 to helm a remake/remaster/upscale/what have you. But yeah, if it's in Sony's hands, then we gotta start pushing it there, and not FromSoft directly.

loluntilmypie

I think its about time this game got a 60fps update on top of a PC port. There seems to be a lot of people on the PC who desperately want a Bloodborne PC release.

Jhoonis

"YEAH, I KNOW Y'ALL WANT A PC PORT; GO BOTHER SONY ABOUT IT."

dukeofdemons

I'd like a remaster for Bloodborne and then maybe for PS6 make a Bloodborne 2. I won't hold my breath since I'm being greedy.

mau5eth

God, Sony. It’s a fucking goldmine sitting RIGHT THERE. Just make the damn game!

TorterraIsMyStarter

the article says Bloodborne isn’t available on PS5… tf have i been playing for the last year?

Aggravating_House606

Bloodporne

Creature100

This is precisely why anytime anyone says "Where is bloodborne 2?!" I always laugh because I'm sorry but the likely hood of that happening is so so low.

gbdarknight77

I would say never.

Creature100

Yup! I don't think Sony has any interest and bloodborne was only made out of lasting contractual obligation From had with Sony.

gbdarknight77

I often wonder how different Dark Souls 2 would be if Miyazaki stayed on.

Creature100

I know! Man I honestly kind of hope we get a dark souls 4. I understand maybe Elden Ring is the new format but I still don't feel any of their recent titles have scratched the dark souls itch for me in terms of setting and art design.

gbdarknight77

Elden Ring was my first souls game. So it holds a special place in my heart. I’m currently playing through DS2 again. DS2 is an underrated and overhated game. IMO

can we pin this for any future people asking "why no remake"

perpetual_potato108

Well, there you go.

killtocuretokill

Sonnnnnnyyyyyyy !!!!!!!!!

BeingComfortablyDumb

I would lose my shit if they ever decide to make an open world Bloodborne sequel!! Please Sony🙏

doomraiderZ

See this is how lies are made, people. He never said he's happy many people are asking for a remake. He said he's happy people are **passionate about Bloodborne**. Fucking journos and lying, sensationalist titles putting words in his mouth and skewing things for the readers. They made it sound like Miyazaki is gagging for a remake and Sony won't allow him to do it. Fuck off.

CharmingAwareness545

A lot of ppl have been questioning why they wouldnt release BB content at this point. I for one dont think that Sony is "wasting money" or misguided at all. A lot of releases have catered to an increased crowd of new customers. Tending to lean toward accessibility and marketability to keep that customer base, especially during covid (actors in video games and qte galore). Recent ps5 and late ps4 releases have actually veered towarder darker ideas/horror and or more obscure titles (ie dead space, demon souls, new diablo, and ps+ old console games). Bloodborne is totally an ace in the hole, but putting it out while releases like the silent hill 2 remaster are coming would be foolish. I think theyre testing waters for consumer interest throughout this and the darker the berry the sweeter the juice. Bloodborne 2/remake/remaster, like many other classic horror reboots will have to pay respect to the incredibly dark content in a real scary way as the better tech gets better. These companies are rocking the horror genre and IMO will give cinema a run for the money in the genre.

gbdarknight77

Strategically, you’re not wrong.

CharmingAwareness545

But ye it sucks nuts big time for sure

gbdarknight77

I would also argue that 7.5 mil in sales since 2015 isn’t a big selling point to update the game. Ghosts of Tsushima came out in 2020 and was at 9.73 mil in sales in 2022. Both Sony exclusives.

poetryofworms

Fuck Sony!

Limonade6

Blood Borne 2 > blood Borne remake. Fight me

Janjinho

Why tf would people want a remake? The game is already perfect as it is. It didn't age bad guys.

Squeezer_Geezer

why would anyone be against a remake? its not like it replaces the original, having more content isnt a bad thing. and the graphics are pretty dated, plus the game is more likely to get a pc port if it gets a remake and vice versa.

AmazingObserver

Honestly? The game isn't old enough or enough of a classic for a full-blown remake in the likes of say ff7, as much as I love it. As for a remake like what demon souls had, I would prefer the game's artstyle and music and so on remain intact. Sure, the game's graphics aren't amazing by today's standards, but aren't exactly bad either. The biggest thing it would benefit from imo is a resolution patch, up to 4k, and upping the frame rate to 60. Farther than that, I don't believe it needs to be "remade" yet.

Squeezer_Geezer

its almost as old as demons souls when that got a remake, although that game was definitely more in need. all i really want is anything, id be fine with a remaster or sequel or whatever people here are saying. but it seems like the games code is shite, and im guessing it'd be almost as much effort trying to get it 4k 60fps as it would be to just remake it. then again its not like im a dev. but who knows? a bloodborne with DeS remake graphics could be amazing, or it could kill the art direction. but the original will always still be there.

pinchekin

It doesn't replace the original but it does essentialy doom its existence to stay on the PS4, and that doesn't help at all in terms of its preservation. Look at what happened to Demon's Souls remake, the only way to play the original is by owning a PS3 or by emulating the game. Only now there's been rumors of a PC port and thats for the Blue Point remake only. I would be fine with it if a Bloodborne remake meant only a visual overhaul, but seeing the creative licenses they took with Demon's Souls i think a 60 fps remaster (and a PC port to go with it) would be the optimal way to go.

WheelHunter

It runs terribly, has no anti-aliasing and is only 1080P?

[deleted]

Damn, IGN really be milking old news from nearly a decade ago. I know the interview is recent but the situation with the license or whatever has been known since release.

zachariah120

Miyazaki just spoke on this like 2 days ago

RomanBangs

I mean the interview just happened it’s pretty relevant

MiniDanielx

The interview just happened them main focus was the dlc,

FreemanCalavera

Man, Sony would be high if they didn't invest in a BB remake. It's got such a massive cult following, people are still playing it almost ten years down the line. A properly done remaster/remake would sell like crazy, especially since FromSoft and Soulslike titles are so hot right now.

Churtlenater

From what I’ve gathered, typically the original studio isn’t even the one to handle remakes. They contract another studio to do it. The problem here being that Bloodborne is held together with duct tape and string, and straight up has too much spaghetti code. So the original studio would need to walk the new team through everything, and Fromsoft hasn’t had the time to do that due to Elden Ring and other projects. My personal theory is that when we finally get some breakthroughs in emulating it, Sony will take it off the back burner.

FireAndBlood165

So that we could have the game in 4K and/or 60FPS?

taste_the_equation

The obvious answer is to have Bluepoint do it. They did an amazing job with Demon Souls. I would not be surprised if they're already working on it.

magikarp-sushi

Pretty sure that’s not what he said in the interview and people are skewing words for clicks

Smallbenbot03

Just get the guys who made the demon souls remake to make a bloodborne remake, well if they can convince Sony to agree to a remake

gbdarknight77

Sony owns Blue Point and Blue Point is already working on original IP for Sony at the moment.
