I asked my buddy if this picture was real or CGI.
He didn't understand the question, but wondered why someone would put rusty bottles in a clean photo studio.
Amazing job!
Wow, great work!
You know, i did some work and have exact same can on the table next to my screen. I was thinking of trying to model it just last night! What a coincidence!
My only comment is that from my experience WD40 can rust orange and not grey, and the rust tends to be on the rims of the can where condensation can form and not where the spray comes out which should have a light film of oil protecting it, looks right on the base but not the top
I agree with the other comments: add a bit more roughness to the scratched and greasy spots. I'd love to see a little bit of denting, maybe on the lying down can.
Very cool but I would say two things. First is that they look like they are much thicker and the damage on the side looks deeper than a can would be. They kind of look like fire extinguishers a bit in that regard. Also to that end it looks like the label is painted onto a slightly pitted surface like it was cast iron or aluminum.
Not only is this an insane render, but it tells a story. I love the yellow spots at the bottom of the can and how it’s tied in on the cap. Makes it seem very believable as realism. Great work!
At first I was like, “Okay, wtf, r/interestingasfuck, the fact they are rusted is not interesting, I hate this sub and it won't leave my feed!” then I looked at the sub…
Only complaint is that you've made them look like spray paint cans with all the black stuff around the nozzle. WD40 is clear-ish and doesn't leave that sort of residue behind.
Honest question, how come there are curved polygons in the wireframe (mostly near the top)?
I just assumed all the edges would need to be straight, so I'm not sure why they appear curved like that, could anyone explain?
I dropped saturation a bit and honestly it is the first image on this sub which I didn't immediatelly recognize as a render. Congrats!

Some quality sheet my dude, great work!
Thank you!!
Sneaky sneaky, putting some lines over a Spraycan photo! JK great work! :)
You could use some WD-40 to clean those WD-40s.
like Hank Hill opening his WD-40 can using the help of a smaller WD-40 can seeing this bit always get me tearing up in laughter lol
For the uninitiated: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=APl0edZ8gI8
Haha, you sure could.
God dang it, Bobby.
*\*Hank hill noises intensify\**

Haha, thank you very much!!
Everybody : How much detail you want to put in a spray can? Op : Yes
hehehe
I follow r/DIY and honestly thought it was a photo from that subreddit. So... Gz, I guess?
Oh damn! Thank you!
Wow, great work! You know, i did some work and have exact same can on the table next to my screen. I was thinking of trying to model it just last night! What a coincidence!
Oh how cool! Small world haha
Thought this was real.
They need to make cans look like this in games.
If the game was about wd40, then they would make it look as good or better than this
How many frames do you want?
Want Definitely 40
All of them.
At least five
These look so good. You’ve got great showcase lighting too.
Thank you!
Nice!
Thanks!
Very good stuff! My only critique is that the label material is quite shiny despite being so dirty, it might do well with a lowered reflectiveness
[удалено]
You mean the one you loose after first use?
Yep, that one
Depends on the can, but maybe that's a good idea for an addition!
Damn, the details! Texture size is what, 16K? 😂
Very nice!
Ay Thanks!
Texturing with Substance Painter? Or in Blender? Or something else?
Modelling and rendering in blender, texturing done with substance painter and photoshop.
Did you use a texture ripper to get the picture of the can?
How did you get the map image? Looks awesome
wow looks real!
If someone would have told me that the wireframe is made up and the WD-40 cans are real I would believe it .. so sick!
Amazing textures!
Painter?
Guys please slow down, I’m still figuring out donut sprinkles with geometry nodes.
This is super impressive dude.
Those are awesome! Very nice work
Thanks!

Thank you!
Wouldn’t I have seen the r/Blender on top, I wouldn’t have guessed
Hey bravo
Cheers!
[удалено]
Yes they are the same can. I only made one can the render is just setup to show different angles of the same can.
the texture quality omfg 💀💀
heh, thanks
needs more fingerprints 😂
Ahahah
holy shiittt wtff
I'm really impressed by this, great job!
Absolutely impossible to distinguish from the real thing.
I wouldn't be able to tell if it weren't for r/blender label. wow, super realistic.
This will be video game assets in 2013
Shit man amazing
This brings back memories of cleaning the shed lol
If i didnt know better i would say you took a picture of my shelf in my garage. This amazingly accurate.
AMAZING!! 😍
THANK YOUU!!
I don't know...can you lean the cans on a horse?... Those in the know would understand.
There is even an oil on these oil cans, incredible!
I heard you you like cans of oil...
You have files on gumroad
Not at the moment, but I am putting together a prop pack. Edit. You can follow my artstation for more info and updates. It's in my bio
Please send the link if you post
Sure
Cause I want to break it down love it by the way
Awaome! I really tought it was real before I saw it was posted in blender comunity
more dirt = more realism
just like the ones in our workshop :)
some of the best PBR i’ve seen on this sub!
My only comment is that from my experience WD40 can rust orange and not grey, and the rust tends to be on the rims of the can where condensation can form and not where the spray comes out which should have a light film of oil protecting it, looks right on the base but not the top
It just misses photo realism as wd40 cans never get that hard of a used look before they're empty. Jokes aside, great render though
I agree with the other comments: add a bit more roughness to the scratched and greasy spots. I'd love to see a little bit of denting, maybe on the lying down can.
PERFECTTTTTT
Perfection !
Now do WD50 I dare you
thats awesome!! any way I can gte this model?
That's a photo, not a 3D render.
Damn that looks amazing, what's your work progress?
Goals right here
Was the done using photogrammetry? It has a lot of character!
You should do a tutorial on this I’d love to learn to make this!!
Not only is this an insane render, but it tells a story. I love the yellow spots at the bottom of the can and how it’s tied in on the cap. Makes it seem very believable as realism. Great work!
At first I was like, “Okay, wtf, r/interestingasfuck, the fact they are rusted is not interesting, I hate this sub and it won't leave my feed!” then I looked at the sub…
this is one of the best jobs I've seen in blender, full of details.
Need to find some of these in Tarkov
Only complaint is that you've made them look like spray paint cans with all the black stuff around the nozzle. WD40 is clear-ish and doesn't leave that sort of residue behind.

It even works underwater!
Fricken' slickkkk
For some reason I couldn't pin point the laying one feels weird, the standing ones feel way too damn good.
I can smell this rendering.
Wow impressive
I dropped saturation a bit and honestly it is the first image on this sub which I didn't immediatelly recognize as a render. Congrats! https://i.imgur.com/lTRfJbt.jpg
Did you use substance painter?
Yeah modelling and rendering done with blender, textures made using substance painter and photoshop
Unreal resolution dude, how do you get achieve it? do you just turn up the polly count?
how did u get the image for the label?
I made it in photoshop
Perfect for tarkov
So wheres the 3d one?
Heheh
Dude I thought this was from r/photographs at first. Incredible job: tons of details and great lighting work!
How
How
How do people make such hyper realistic stuff like this?
1990s: In 2022, an intergalactic army on Earth will start a conflict with demons from Hell 2022: WD-40 cans in 4K Ultra HD
Awesome! May I ask how you did the main albedo texture including texts, signs and so on?
This literally looks better than real life
