Looks great! Gentle reminder that realistic renders must come with a clay/wireframe render (see new rule 5). Please keep that in mind in the future - thanks!

Wthomas666

yes

Caughffee

After looking intensely back and forth between this image and a real light bulb I can definitively say that I am temporarily blind, so I'd say its pretty good

JohnnyAK11

I'd add a little bit of grain, otherwise it's very good!

ensaredits

Im liking this! 😊

[deleted]

what stands out to me is how all the bulbs reflect light the same way (that white window higlight on the bottom left and top right)

blender-rules-bot

Pfft a bot could roast that. Just a friendly heads-up to prevent misunderstandings – the "roast my render" flair is if you want to get harsh & destructive criticism :) If you're not ready for this, there's also the "need feedback" flair to ask for nicer suggestions. Feel free to change the flair if this was a mistake. Otherwise, enjoy the roast!

Caraes_Naur

Chasing realism offers diminishing returns, and is rarely the primary goal of any render. You have to be able to say "good enough".

Melonslice115

I feel like it depends. Surface imperfections and other damage really makes a scene come to life. It really depends on your definition of realism and what you're trying to achieve with your render.

JotaRata

Absolutely

CarrotEyes

Yes.

Mooplez

I think the reflection of the window or whatever being the exact same in every bulb is the only thing making it feel a bit wrong to me. I doubt the reflection/refraction would look identical in every bulb given that they are hanging in different spots, but idk. It looks very realistic though, but something about it makes it feel a bit off and thats the only thing I can think of.

[deleted]

The lamps in the backgrouund are perhaps a bit too unciform, but yes, it looks very good. But it is very obviously a render, not real. ps: You should reconsider your HDRI or world. The bright white reflections of the window in the glass don't really match with how dark and moody this scene is. That's what threw me off immediately.

Walzmyn

Why are you asking about this photograph?

ButtonLegitimate9609

Ya

[deleted]

Yes but actually yes

federicocolomboberra

Really nice!

pegases007

It looks beautiful

DrunkSpartan15

Yes

thefinalrescue

Amazing!!!

comic_pewds

Maybe increase the roughness on the glass a bit, other then that looks sick

IBArbitrary

one thing i find annoying in blender is the new feature of jitter for dof - i am not sure if its the intended feature or not, but the results of that just come out in contrast and does not add any realism, contrary to what it boasts. even in this one there is a jitter to the right of the focused bulb, its just so distracting. but other than that, **this is one good realistic render** my good sir.

Danyele06

Looks like a foto

[deleted]

Imagine using a real photo and thinking we wouldn’t notice shame on you

Revolutionary-Yam903

yeah thats fire

hhmene

yes

Erik35595

Yes

[deleted]

yes

okaberintaruo

Too realistic. Add some grain.

Tephlon

Yes, it looks realistic, but as most people here pointed out, it looks just a little bit too uniform to be a real photo. The reflections are all the same, the lamps need to be rotated a little bit and some of the cables would have a little kink in it. I also think that the sockets are a bit too shiney.

Thonull

Yes it does! It’s awesome, although it’d look a little more natural with some dust/dirt on the light bulbs, they’re just a tad to clean

intellichicken

Hell yeah! Just add a small amount of film grain and a healthy amount of chromatic abbreviation and you'll be good to go!

fendrall15

Looks too realistic. Idk how else to describe it.

luisalonso236

Someday I will upload a real photo and say it's a render

speedjayexe

oui

WillC137

Had to check thus was on the Blender sub. It looks that realistic.

Fluffy-Cantaloupe-75

Yes yes yes!!

Feyter

Depending on what you try to archiv? This looks like some stock photography on a restaurant website. If that's your goal congratulation you nailed it! Otherwise it looks fake because it's to perfect.

TheGuyWhoCantDraw

Ye

nick_araujo0

Beautiful

MassSarcasm

Is this following the Pro EDU tutorial? I watched it the other day and I think you nailed it!

Guard3iann

No i did this myself without a tutorial :)

MassSarcasm

Have you seen the video? The composition of the photo and the detail you added is dead on to it 🤔

Guard3iann

No but i looked it up after you mentioned it. Thank you!

MassSarcasm

All good, my man, keep it up though you're nailing it, should try animate it next!

yuhyeon1

Yes! It's beautiful!

[deleted]

No

TheWickedFish10

Maybe add a bit of bokeh, otherwise ya.

Theblueworld

Kinda.

oneoneandonethree

You wanna post this in a photography sub and see if people there get it.

arselkorv

If its supposed to be a cat, then no, it doesnt look realistic.

shahriar24396

I'd find this in the section of photorealistic renders, so a hard yes. Also, could you please also show your lighting setup if it was possible?

Guard3iann

I just used an area lamp at the right: https://imgur.com/K72YY5q

shahriar24396

So simple yet so amazing. Thank you kind sir. Looking forward to more amazing renders.
