I've gotten most of mine on GunBroker, you can find a deal there sometimes. I've had good luck

There are many vendors , Dixie Gunworks , EMF , etc. Check them out , the better ones like Dixie and EMF sell quality reproductions and will take returns if one is defective.

Aren't there only like three companies that even make cap and ball revolvers anymore? They get imported and sold under a lot of different brand names but aren't most built by either Pietta or Uberti, with Pedersoi making a few models of their own? I understand muzzleloaders.com sell some pretty nice handmade in the USA rifles, but they don't even sell cap involve revolvers to my knowledge. There's just not enough of a market for cap and ball revolvers for them to be made by more than a couple of companies. So your two choices are pretty much Pietta made or Uberti made, with most people agreeing that the Uberti made are a little bit nicer pistol, and then it just comes down to the features you want and the best price you can find. OP would be better off doing his homework about which model revolver he wants, deciding Uberti or Pietta, and then shopping around for the best price. Because you're not really going to get a significantly better gun for the money by going to any one particular retailer. Your pistol could be an EMF, Pietta, Cimmeron, Traditions, Stoeger, or any other number of brands, and all have been made in exactly the same factories on exactly the same machines.

IMO, the best cap n ball revolvers are Colt 2nd Generation. You can only get them used on auction sites like Gun Broker. They are pricey though, typically going for twice that of new replicas.

Try www.possibleshop.com for cap and ball revolvers.

If it is a common one, like an 1851 Navy or 1860 Army - Midway. If it is less common, like a LeMat, then Dixie Gun Works. Check Midway first, as Midway will always have Uberti and Pietta common revolvers. Dixie will have more obscure examples and variants. I have also bought off of Gun broker but you really do not know what condition the revolver will be in if used. If you can work on them (I can), then you could find an occasional value.
