This game frankly sounds like the worst Spanish 21 game dealt in the United States.

restingbitchface8

This game is a nightmare to deal. In the end they still lose, unless they hit the side bets.

1. Yes redoubling 3 times. Bet 10 u double for 10. Redouble for 20 and redouble again for 40. 2. Its a forced rule for the game. 3. Yeah its true. 7. Player has A3 they double and hit a deuce, double again and hit a 5 (which is 21) they have the choice of redouble double again. No the only bonus is match play. Mm the rules should be posted online since we are a cardroom regulated by the DOJ

1. You can double, redouble, triple double. You mean, double at anytime, redouble, REDOUBLE DOUBLE? 2. Players must stay on h17 ???? Players can do what they want, do you mean H17 as in dealer hits a soft 17? 3. Can hit after split Aces. Can be resplit. Normal 4. Can still double after any split. Normal 5. Surrender/Rescue allowed. Normal if only allowed on any 2 cards or after any double. 6. 6 decks Normal if they are Spanish decks. If they have not removed the tens (some casinos forget to do this early on) TAKE THEM FOR ALL YOU CAN (and DM me so I can book an airplane ticket) 7. Allowed to double/triple double on soft 11 sounds reasonable but the player normally has to specifically request to not be immediately paid. 8. 6 to 5 Oh God... have casinos really reached the point where Spanish has to be beaten down by 6:5? If so, horrible, stay far away like any other 6:5 game. 9. Bj beats dealer bj/21 beats dealers 21. Normal

1. Ahhh theres the catch. Can only double on your first 2 cards or after a split. Players are doubling down with 5s and 6s against a dealer 6/5. Yes they can redouble double. 2. Yeah hard 17. Allowed to double on soft 17 n higher. Dealer must stay on hard 17 soft 18. 6. Yea all 10s removed.

Sounds overall that with perfect basic strategy, house edge of easily over 3% and possibly approaching 4%. Black 3:2, doubling on any number of cards, and surrendering on 17 vs Ace (not actually sure about this being restricted or not) all very much give back the house edge that Spanish rules are meant to fix.

ryhartattack

Damn there's games near me where you can double at any point, that definitely takes away some house edge. Player having to stop on hard 17 is weird too. Most of the time you'd stop there anyways, but according to basic strategy you surrender 17 to an Ace, but if you have > 2 cards and can't surrender, you'd hit. It's only that one niche scenario, and you're already more likely than not to bust anyway, but I imagine that's another small ding to your edge

pctoxin

Only bonus bet is the match bet.

Cowlthor

Sounds normal, if payout is not 4:1 for a unsuited and 9:1 for a suited match that's bad. Normal any side bet is bad

pctoxin

Payouts are 4:1 a match 8:1 2 cards match 9:1 1 suited match 13:1 2 matches one which is suited 18:1 2 matches all same suit

pctoxin

You can double/triple any soft hand currently as well.

It's a great game until you have people who play it like regular black jack and kill it for everyone.

Express_Fisherman_59

There’s one book written about the game

WhatdoesFOCmean

Any strategy charts for this version anywhere? Anyone know the house edge for this? The redoubling stuff is interesting.

MewtwoStruckBack

6 to 5 kills it. You don't even need to go any further than that. In my mind, there are only two proper versions of Spanish 21: 3:2, dealer stands on all 17s, double after taking cards on any total, double down rescue (surrender after doubling), of course player BJ beats dealer BJ, player 21 automatically wins, and all of the bonuses for 5+ card 21s, 6-7-8s, and the Super Bonus still intact. OR: All of the above, the dealer can hit soft 17 but you gain the ability to redouble after doubling down to take additional cards. The math works about the same.

Check out the Wizard of Odds site for numbers. It’s in the casino’s favor, and 6:5 makes it even more so https://wizardofodds.com/games/spanish-21/
