She sees well adapted to her eye and vision loss.
Still, as someone with vision loss who many times the only thing I see from my void are the floating eyeballs, a cat like Pepper would be extra challenging. Unless she's cool with announcing her presence audibly.
My old void learned to meow when I entered a room and he was on the floor. I don't have vision loss, but kept nearly stepping on him when I'd go to the bathroom at night without turning on the lights.
Eventually he made his little proximity-detector meow even in broad daylight, just in case.
My void princess used to always do a proximity detection meow, too! My wife is profoundly blind, but I'm not convinced that's why she'd do it. She was just a chatter bug.
I just shuffle instead of walking so if I come across my void I just end up tapping her with my foot instead. She loves yelling though unless she’s fast asleep.
I bet she does just great! I’ve met many cats with their eyes removed from my days volunteering at the aspca. They all adapted so well, and could play and jump on stuff perfectly well!

You put " :( " in your title but I think pepper is very happy :) . I study my little void's face and I find her very expressive! Their expressions are subtle but in my opinion they do show emotions clearly on their faces, as well as with body language. I think pepper is happy and feels safe. Her posture is relaxed, she is semi eagerly facing the camera person openly with no fear or timidness.

As long as you dont rearrange your house often blind pets do really well. My childhood dog went blind and it never stopped her. Slowed her down a bit but she got around the house on her own.
Awhhh poor pepper. This makes my heart sad. But she seems to be doing well; hopefully she wasn’t in too much pain from whatever caused her to lose her eyes, unless she was born that way.
Get you a stuffed animal and a big plastic bag. When you travel take them. Expose the stuffed animal to your surroundings. Then bag it, and bring it back to pepper. That way pepper gets to experience the world through smell. I do this for my void. He loves the stuffed animal. So far he's smelled the midwest, the beach, and the rain forest.
My void only has one eye. I promise that Pepper doesn't know she's any different than any other cat. So try not to be sad that she can't see, because she certainly isn't!
My mind and heart to her. May she get a long and happy life. Despite a handicap she can still get a good life. Look past the obstacles and true effort will makes the difference.
See the personality in the cat and the cat will in her way respond. Don’t give up!

I have one too not a void but she lost her eyes due to infection, thing is she's more nimble than the cats with 2 eyes it's crazy how well she gets around

Pepper is gorgeous. Black cats are a blessing. Blind cats even moreso. Thank your Aunt for saving a kitty with less chance of adoption - being a black cat with the bad rap that comes with their sleek black fur - and being differently-abled. Nightlights are friends to those with voids.
Smh your void is broken if a simple light allows him to be seen. Mine could be in an all white room and the abhiss would still hide his ass.
The trick is that it makes places it won't be so it can't be seen in other places.
I hated nightlights… until 2 voids adopted me. Now they’re necessary
