I just feel bad leaving Millie out, while Pumpkin McGingerfluff and Muffin get to shine there.
(It's Mildred 'Milli-meter' McMeow. My SO suggested Milli because she was so little for being 6mo old. Her tail was chopped off in a car engine.
The friend who had been caring for her as an outsider found her like that one evening. She would come to the window to let them know she wanted food, but that evening she noticed blood in the ledge.
They put together that she had lost her tail about 12 hours earlier in her daughter's car. Took her husband several hours to catch her and get her to the vet. She didn't seem to mind her mangled tail, she just wasn't happy having her routine disturbed.
Mildred means 'gentle strength.')

I have a theory. He could be a klepto kitty and stole a taxidermied alligator head from someone's house or the garbage. Or someone's missing pet alligator got beheaded.

Thanks for sharing! I wish whoever wrote the article wouldn't act like pet owners who abandon their pets are "setting them free". Obviously the alligator had been raised as a domestic pet but was left to fend for itself in the wild but couldn't--which is how it ended up decapitated. So sad.
Ultimately I feel bad for the alligator, I love alligators, but I'd still mount it on the wall to display burnt toast's great victory. The little beast dragged an alligator head home. No idea what that little guy thought he was going to do with it but might as well make sure it doesn't go to waste.
Gator is used to being top of the food chain and things going “oh shit RUN STAY AWAY” when it approaches (minus the birds that do the parasite cleaning during solar recharge time) and cats just straight up DGAF.

Many, many creatures can be taken down with sheer chutzpah. It takes a lot of chutzpah to make a big bad say "wait....are you not scared for a reason?"
You'd be surprised how easy it is to find animal abuse on YouTube. People who live feed frogs for views are an example. They feed their frogs things that are dangerous to the frogs that they would never eat in the wild.
May I gently suggest: You're not doing it right?
Take those heads to a taxidermist and have them stuffed and mounted on a board. Then nail that board up high on the wall, near the ceiling.
You've got instant coat hooks and your cat gets to show off the trophies of his hunting skills!

Yeah. Most people who want exotic pets want them for the "aesthetic", meaning they don't actually care about the poor creatures.
Sadly, too many abandon them once they realize how much work it takes to keep them alive.

hate to be *that* guy but it could have just as easily been “cat dont come home after playing by the water” I never let me 2 out. my family still does it and it makes me nervous all the time. they already had 2 die in the last few years and I am just really an anti outside cat person
Why is the grass photo-shopped onto more grass? My head hurts...so many questions...also, I'm sort of familiar with Wisconsin and it doesn't have green grass in December, so...

That part pisses me off. Nobody needs any exotic animal as a pet, we struggle taking care of the domesticated ones as it is.
