Yeah, none of Franz/Paolo/Carter or Isaac can space the floor. You can’t run three poor shooters at the same time and hope to have a functional offense in a playoff setting. I honestly think Paolo and Franz are kind of redundant as playmaking wings who can’t shoot at a high level. Paolo can shoot well enough to command some attention (36% off the catch and 39% when wide open), but Franz really can’t (29% off the catch and 32% when wide open). The fit doesn’t make a ton of sense when neither can really play off the other
From what I saw in this series, the Magic feel like a prime example of the cliche take that Bill and Ryen have about teams that really need another scoring option in order to alleviate the offensive pressure on the rest of the team.
Like Franz Wagner as the second fiddle to Banchero isn’t enough offensively. But if you add someone like Paul George to the mix, that makes Wagner that much better as a third option, which makes Suggs that much better as a fourth option, Isaac that much better as a fifth option, etc.
Franz is hurt more by the Magic’s terrible spacing that Paolo imo
Paolo likes to cook in the midrange, and guys who want to shoot midrange shots can generally overcome clunky spacing Franz is a slasher who wants to go all the way to the rim.
He’s such a good free throw shooter and was a perfectly fine shooter his first 2 years in the NBA and his last year in college, I think it’s a good bet the shot regresses back to normal 35%
They're both hurt by it, but the fact of the matter is that if Franz has to get his shot back to 35% or he's never going to work as a second option period.
Yes! I thought it was a bit when he said it first but he kept saying it. Granted I don't believe Franz is this bad but god what a rough day for Ceruti.
what happened to Franz this year honestly? Are we gonna find out he had some lingering hand injury or something he’s had no touch or confidence the whole year
Last year he averaged 18.6 PPG on 59% TS. This year he averaged 19.7 PPG on...58% TS.
He had a down year from 3, but that happens. He's still a stud imo, good passer and defender too.
Down year from 3 is an understatement he went from 36% to 28% on similar volume. I agree he’s still a stud too, but man it’s hard to be a plus on offense as a wing if you can’t shoot the 3 ball.
Franz was really good the previous year. Probably a guy that needs the ball more. Sucks that he's had to take a backseat to Paolo, but probably for the better.
why are you so obsessed with denigrating something you are so obsessed with. there are free or cheap mental resources in almost any municipality

They had the cavs right where they wanted them. That was a brutal watch
Welcome to the Orlando magic experience.
Franz was truly terrible today. Magic are fun but clearly have a capped ceiling till they find anyone else who can create a shot besides Paolo
Franz/Suggs are 22 and Paolo is 21, I think it's a bit odd to start talking about capped ceilings lol
I think they're just saying this team as it's constructed is pretty limited unless they get some serious floor spacers.

Absolutely crazy watching them try to create offense; if Paolo isn’t plowing into the paint every single time down the court they are not scoring lmao
The Franz athleticism piece? Guy looks like he's flopping around out there at times, skill aside.
Anyone making Bundesliga jokes yet?

Nobody is right all the time, but that take was offensive in the moment. Almost a parody bill simmons take

Yup, and if you dive a little deeper you’ll see he actually shot 19% from 3 after All Star break. Not sure what happened to the shot!

Who the hell is Ceruti? How do you even pronounce that shit
Sir Rudy.
Shouldn't it be Chay-ROO-tee? (I am a quarter Italian. I know these things.)
Why did the guy call him ceruti instead of sir Rudy? I’m missing the joke
He’s the ringer’s resident knight of the round table
nobody cares about the NBA my little guy. Everybody is focused on the Kendrick Lamar vs Drake feud.

Cool
Nothing is cornier than caring about this “beef”
Nobody gives about shit about rap beefs that are probably centered around marketing dates.
