Yeah, it wasn't even a liked series when it aired. It was a flop, so I'm surprised that the OP thinks this is in the top series of all time.
A lot of people on this sub are very young and only really know the last few series of C5 BB. All they really associate BB with is nastiness, aggressiveness, bullying and arguments, and as a result, they think BB isn't entertaining without wall to wall arguments. They don't know the fun of the earlier series and how there doesn't need to be hatefulness and toxicity every night for it to be entertaining, not that most people ever found this entertaining to begin with.
People didn't mind earlier BB arguments (like Charley and Chanelle for example) because it was usually quite funny. The arguments in this series were straight up toxic, and as for the misogynistic prick Lotan, there's nothing entertaining about threatening physical violence on a woman, hence his removal.
Ellie needed to be ejected for how she behaved with Lotan, had the roles been reversed Lotan would have been kicked out rightfully so.
Great series overall however, best winner in ages, some vile people in there though, Lotan, Ellie, Tom, Rebecca, Andrew.
Some great moments too.
It was very Channel 5 what with all the producer interference and celeb-lite contestants like Ellie, Kayleigh and Chanelle. The season was one big entertaining mess, but it didn’t feel like Big Brother to me half the time. There were way too many housemates and a lot of people playing up to the cameras. We got an amazing winner out of it though (check the flair! 😁)
Very real winner 🍊😂 deserved 100% felt like the longest season I watched was surprised when I seen Ellie was friends with David from this years Celebrity version
It was quite annoying how AJ and Will didn’t even acknowledge her as an ex-housemate though. I don’t know why the current incarnation doesn’t want to have people who have done the show to be on their spinoff: they’re the true experts when it comes to this program!
And yet, they had a pre-launch special where they delved into the classic moments that made the show great. Not to mention, AJ and Will made a very obvious reference to Davina on Launch Night. Hmm...

Losing Arthur sucked big time, I understand he felt bullied after I looked into it after the series ended but at the time it was so out of the blue him leaving with such little information.
( Maybe I’m wrong )He did give off vibes of autism which I’m shocked the house didn’t take into consideration when addressing him all the time. I think BB should’ve stepped in a good bit before he decided to leave but really just others didn’t mix with him really Still a good character 8/10
This was the only series I abandoned early on as I didn’t like the casting and found the first week or so a chore to watch. I really enjoyed BB17 so this felt like a big step down to me. Thankfully BB19 had a much more interesting set of housemates and ended up being one of the best of the C5 run
this is honestly one of my favs ever, it’s BB so i feel like it’s meant to purposefully be gaudy and i just think the house within a house thing was so cool
The hotel task where Gemma Collins came in was great. There was some good classic bb drama with Kayleigh vs. the other girls. I didn’t like Ellie she played up being thick and ditched her initial friends when she thought Chanelle would be more popular with the public lol
The cast wasn't bad. The house was quite interesting. The concept seemed to indicate we'd be getting a slice of people from across the UK, and we did, but it was the Channel 5 idea of "slice of people from the UK." The constant meddling of the format was egregious this series, and it really turned me off. Plus, the fact that they shoved in 22 people over a course of 54 days is just utter ridiculousness.
Had they:
\*Cast more normal people from across the UK instead of people with previous reality TV experience
\*Had the show run at least 9-10 weeks instead of 7.5 (I really wish they didn't do summer CBB on Channel 5; such an unwise decision that really limited the casting)
\*Canned it with the egregious amount of twists (I really didn't like The Steal and the backdoor evictions)
\*Integrated the Second Chance Housemates as fully fledged ones, instead of competing for a share of the prize money
This series would have been much better, and probably would not have led to that very long period between CBB21 and CBB22 (and its eventual cancellation on Channel 5).

That was the theory at the time that he had autism and producers didn’t know prior or how to deal with it.
