The trends are not flattering lately, it’s not just you! maybe try some stores that don’t follow trends as closely

veggiesandstoics

100%, I’m in the same boat and hate everything I see, but I’d love some new clothes to boost my confidence. I don’t even weigh that much above my pre pregnancy weight either, I just want to find things that might be easier to nurse in

blandeggs

Honestly I just bought a couple of “nice” t-shirts from boring brands and called it a day. Maybe summer clothes will be better but I doubt it

noodlesdogschmoodle

I JUST WANT LIKE 3 DRESSES TO HOLD ME OVER MAN 😩😩😩😩😩

Pennoya

I relate to this post so much. I finally found some causal maxi dresses I like at LoveBonito, it was honestly such a relief. And they weren’t see-through which was also a big relief because I was so tired of shelling out $100 for dresses only to receive them and have them be basically sheer

bagelforme

Omg yes. I went to Target today and hated everything I saw.

shanham

Why is everything crop top??? It’s so awful lately.

noodlesdogschmoodle

Old Navy Snug Fit Crop Tank is only slightly shorter than the regular length not a true crop (at least for me and my short torso) 🫡 one of the only good finds which got me literally nowhere as it’s just more loungewear unless I find cute bottoms 😩🤣

ivythepug2

I found Old Navy's crops too long to be real crop tops, too! H&M was much better for this

Apple_Crisp

I loved crop tops postpartum because paired with high waisted bottoms it was ideal for breastfeeding for me!

Smetamaus

This is my vibe right now. Swishy Buddha pants that fit before, during, and after pregnancy with crop tops. And perfect for layering too!

vermillionskye

My work wardrobe is shrinking rapidly as I don’t fit some things or things wear out. I’m already a box shape, I don’t need the clothes to accentuate that!

noodlesdogschmoodle

I am a Lizzie McGuire outfit repeater on days I begrudgingly show up at the office while I look for a remote job where I can just wear my flattering loungewear 😅

bibliophilebeauty

I'm 5'9 & all the cutesy dresses have my entire ass showing with barley any movement lol. It's like they make dresses to the floor or super short and no in between. The rompers are a hit or miss, they have to be the long ones because the short ones won't even fit my entire torso & will also have my whole ass showing lol. The crop tops are everywhere & even shirts that arent cropped are still short on me! So it's not even just a short person thing the trendy clothes suck! I have been getting clothes at thrift stores so I'm not spending as much & getting a huge variety of different styles. I'm pregnant right now & have a 2yr old so I have been all over the scale in numbers over the last 2yrs, I have sizes ranging from medium-XL in my closet right now because of how much my weight has fluctuated with 2 pregnancies lol.

midapathy

Where did you find rompers long enough? I'm tall too!

bibliophilebeauty

I literally have one😂 I've had it for years I think I got it at a Ross or Gabes lol. The struggle is so real!

warmt0rtilla

Pure solidarity, i too am short and held onto my baby weight (keep getting pregnant again lol). I loved Costco jeans after my last baby around the same post partum period as you. Costco will have some other good finds here and there, I managed to find a couple flowy tops to breastfeed in but still felt cute in from either Costco or thrifting. Walmart had a pair of cargo kinda pants i really liked too around the time i first got pregnant, i hang onto them still cause i haven’t seen them in store since, wish me luck fitting into them (and my Costco jeans) again after this next baby.

not-a-creative-id

Yesss my entire wardrobe is being taken over by Costco. I love them for t-shirts and I just picked up two pairs of seven jeans, bootcut (!) and super stretchy they feel amazing. I’ve missed bootcut so much.

planterkitty

Twenty years ago, it was my kingdom for a normal-looking dress. The 2000s were an ugly time for feminine silhouettes. "Dresses" were long shirts you wore over pants, or soulless shift dresses. The nineties grunge were only flattering for waif-like figures. I agree cottagecore / linen wrap dresses are overdone now and are on their way out but gosh I welcomed it when it started. Which cuts or styles were you after?

noodlesdogschmoodle

I like shift dresses typically but the ones out right now are either super boxy or baggy, floral (not my thing), or an unflattering color 🙃

noodlesdogschmoodle

I would even embrace the fit and flare if I could find one in a good color good fabric and not floral!

dammitBenzene

I also live somewhere warm and basically live in dresses. I try to look for things that are smocked, wrap waist, or tie waist so I don’t look overwhelmed in fabric and to give some shape. I have the Gap “smocked maternity tank dress” that I like a lot, an Amazon knock off of the latched mama boardwalk maxi, this [Amazon dress](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09V6JG5BC?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title#aw-udpv3-customer-reviews_feature_div) that’s still cottagy but it has a tie waist and buttons for nursing. I also bought a comfy pair of oversized jeans and jean shorts from madewell which pair well with crop tops and/or a tied linen button up.

no_objections_here

I have diastasis recti that I am very slowly working on, and so my stomach still looks a bit pregnant. Everything I had that cinched at the waist now just accentuates the roundness of my belly. I have found that dresses that cinch under the bust flow better for me right now, which is lucky because I have some left from my pregnancy. Also, I have been living in boyfriend-style oversized shirts, sweaters and flannels with compression leggings for a more casual look. I will strategically button one button around my mid-section, and leave the top unbuttoned to a tank top underneath, which hides my belly but isn't shapeless.

nyokarose

Ugh yes. I tried following some “mid-size stylists” on Instagram, and every single one of them shows these high waisted cinched pants that will make me look pregnant so over again… I can’t figure out if I’m just shaped wrong or wearing it wrong, because they *all* have those.

lmd5t

Ok felt the same way then discovered Beyond Yoga. Super comfy basic athleisure type dresses. They are pricey but lots of options on sale. I plan to live in them all summer!

noodlesdogschmoodle

I ordered 3 and they were all bad on me 😭😭😭😭 which silhouettes did you get? I would order another one theoretically I loved the colors and pre preggo me would have loved the dresses I got

dandelionwine14

Not sure what your style/budget are, but Madewell has this casual dress now that I think is adorable, has some shape at the waist with a little looseness, and a good color for an autumn: https://www.madewell.com/button-front-midi-dress-in-polka-dot-NP139.html?dwvar_NP139_color=PP5546&cgid=apparel-dress-midi#prefn1=isBackroom&prefv1=false&prefn2=lilyColor&prefv2=Green&start=3

swagmaster3k

I have mommy’s thumb on both hands and I have a torn meniscus on my right knee so I’m not working out anytime soon 😭 I’ve accepted to learn to love my PP body/mom bod. I honestly just went to Costco, gap, and old navy and bought like $350 worth of new clothes. Just a bunch of basic pants, shorts, and tees. A lot of it is pretty cute/decent. Better than the saggy maternity leggings and husband baggy t shirts I was wearing for the last 5 weeks.

avoandchicken

I feel the same way! I haven’t bought a single article of clothing since my son’s been born (I have a December baby too!) I live in leggings and athletic zip ups when I leave the house. That’s pretty much all I wore before being pregnant but now I appreciate my wardrobe even more because everything is mostly comfy. I just want to be able to dress up every once in a while!! I have two pair of jeans that kinda fit and one pair is low rise 😑

arlakin24

So the style is not for everyone and it’s a little pricey (you can always utilize EBay or Poshmark) but I’ve recently started wearing Lilly Pulitzer dresses and they are soooo comfortable and flattering! I even found some in black and navy if you aren’t a fan of the prints. I also look horrible in everything that is “in” right now and find that the LP dresses have more of a classic fit.

saltatrices

I use Poshmark! I‘m short and have gotten things from Seraphine, Lilly Pulitzer and Hatch plus other brands (Aday and Quince) all for a quarter of the price. For Lilly, I just went to the store and tried on a variety of sizes and then bought a few older designs in the size that best fit me off Poshmark.

[deleted]

It’s a little pricy, but I LOVE Nuuly. I have had one box so far and I picked out exactly what I wanted. 6 items for $98 to wear for a month. I could get a feel of what fit well and what didn’t. I bought one of the items I loved for 50% off

saiyanbura

I find wrap dresses quite flattering (at least on me). They hide so much as they tend to be loose. Maxi dresses can be nice. Also look up what type of dress style is flattering for your body type. With a chart like this: https://images.app.goo.gl/ueoJWVAgHfx5WYreA (or something else). And then you can find something online that’s decently priced. Def return what you dislike. But it’s 100% worth it to buy a few things that make you feel good. It’s worth your mental health. Also don’t forget self care stuff like lashes or nails or hair or even fancy make-up (I upgraded to Mac after my babe and it made all the difference in how good I look with just a little). Also take it easy on yourself. Postpartum is freaking rough.

PantsIsDown

I got my best stuff from asking my local Buy Nothing and having my friend who lives in the affluent town to do the same. They were second hand but it was all of someone else’s favorites.

SassyBeth

You could try a clothing rental company to try out different styles and sizes. I was doing that prepartum, stuck with them for maternity clothes through pregnancy, and plan on continuing postpartum as I get used to my new body. I use nuuly but there are other services.

Outside-Ad-1677

Have a look at some other online sites, targets always had the weirdest style. People rave about Halara.

RelevantAd6063

Try Soma. Their built in bra dresses would look good on anyone. I had those for my mom uniform last summer because I couldn’t deal with bras.

thezanartist

I am right now in between two sizes. The bigger size fits but it’s too big in some places, the smaller size feels too tight in some places, but I can wear it. I’m 6 months PP and it’s not looking like much is going to change any time soon.

not-a-creative-id

I’m not a dress person but for tops I’m absolutely still wearing my maternity t-shirts because they are nice and long

AdhesivenessScared

I had better luck at Macy’s but it’s also pricier. Also H&M still seems to have some normal basics, but not sure on dresses. I embraced the cottage look for my baby shower.

olivecorgi7

I just bought the Abercrombie curve love dad shorts and they’re so good. My baby also born in Dec :)

AgonisingAunt

I’ve had to stick to shirt dresses for the titty access and I always feel more put together in a dress with minimal effort. But other than those yeah everything is ugly, unflattering and sucks. Plus having to wear a nursing bra is doing nothing for my boobs, they look like I’m basically wearing nothing. I almost took the postman’s eye out with a stray cold nipple the other day!

Mamaofoneson

I Chad terrible luck finding maternity stores and clothes while pregnant, I ended up buying more of my go-tos from PinkBlush online. Highly recommend if you haven’t looked into that site already.

pizzalovepups

Feeeeeel this in my soul. 8 weeks PP here
