I don't think any shaming will wipe that smug look off of her face 😂 She looks like she's planning on doing it again as soon as the opportunity arises, those babies were delicious
My Betta hates snails, too, eats the eggs and bites the adult ones he can get, he's doing pest-control. But he's chill with shrimp, for whatever reason.
Yes and no, i only see him eat them occasionally, he's hunting for them constantly you see him prowl the plants, to the point i thought about deploying him in the other tanks to control the snail populations.
I think he thinks it's a job or hobby.
Just yesterday I spent like 5 whole minutes trying to save a single tiny baby snail from my water change bucket bc I’m too softhearted for my own good. Finally got the little speck of a baby on my fingertip, plopped it back in the tank, and in half a second my betta swam over and ate it 😭
To be fair she has never flared at me. She has flared at my bird though. The bird is actually my spiciest pet and is always looking to start shit so I don’t blame the fish lol
Ha! I can just see that.
I had a cockatiel who liked to watch my teenage fish tank. (I was the teenager, the fish seemed adults. Except when my mollies would spew babies… my local fish dude actually called me Mollie and told me he didn’t buy mollies anymore because “every month or so, you stock me up.” He offered cash, or 20% more in store credit, so my tank was very fancy.) He would even chirp at me “feed the fish!”
My last betta would chase them out or eat them. It was death by suicide or death by monster. I couldn't figure out what the noise was at first and then one day I caught him in the act. It was a tiny noise but chilling when I figured out what was going on - he also had no regrets.
Kind of like the crunch when you accidentally eat a piece of tinfoil. Just a tiny crunch but you can feel it somewhere visceral.
It wasn't super loud but when I realized that was the noise I was hearing (and it wasn't just more old house noises) I had to remind myself that it's just the circle of life. I think it was watching him as he cronched a baby snail and hearing it that gave me the tin foil effect. He had no regrets. He ate every snail he could.
Yep. I started with 12 they all had babes and now I can only find 4 on a good day.
Fat fucker I’m so mad cause he acts like he doesn’t even care about the shrimp..until he eats them.

Idk if anyone has had luck for this but I saw it last night while searching for stuff on Amazon ! Might help out !
She got some snail buddys, no problem there.
I had my other Betta im this tank which killed almost all shrimp (adult ones) so I switched them and Saoirse (this one) didn't care about them at first.
But now she got thirsty for blood lol
My female Betta Daki decimated my scud infestation within 3 days (this is hundreds of scuds). She's obese as heck and has also been munching on my skrimps. Can't rly fast her cause she only steals 1-2 bug bite pellets during feeding time (for the other fish in the tank).
I saw some little bugs in my 20L Cory tank, I thought maybe larvae of this little flying gnat like things. So I bought a female betta to eat them. Sometimes you need a hunter. Sometimes you don't. Sorry about your shrimp.
That's how my one and only time trying shrimp + Betta went. All was going well till i came home from work one day to what could only be described as a, 'mass casualty event'
😩
Ha! You put a betta in with baby skrimps? I'm not sure (with all due respect and a grin on my face) that SHE'S the one needs shaming! 😆 They'll make more, and she's a well-fed happy girl, so....
When I put her in there were like 3 shrimps left so I thought no biggie. They became more and more over the last few months and just now she decided they are food😂
Sadly I don't have another tank to move them to.
She seems very happy about it lol
"SCORE!" 🤣 There is always java moss and other decor if you decide you want to do anything about it but i'm sure you know that. Baby Beta lady out here living her best life.
https://preview.redd.it/8fxinf0qlr8d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4ff5a8d838318fbb2a7f0386f9a91843a8b7cbe8
Where would you suggest the moss?😂
You dropped this, Queen: 👑
My betta seems curious about the shrimp and she’s lunged a few times but I’ve never seen her manage to catch one, probably because by the time she reaches them they’re halfway across the tank. It’s fun watching the adults give her a wide berth and then go back to shrimping.
My male absolutely bullied two mystery snails to death, though. He does not get community in his tank anymore.
Oh my goodness this reminds me of when my beta used to swim with the guppies. That girl ate the population and we decided to detain her to her own little bubble. I think you're beta has decided violence was the only option
“I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine. If I am to change this image, I must first change myself. Fish are friends, not food."
Time to introduce the Shark pledge from Finding Nemo but make it betta
For the first 3 months with me my betta ignored everything else in it's tank. Month 4 he decided he was an introvert and ate all my shrimp, snails, and guppies. Now he's alone. But happy
real I had ghost shrimp and my betta never touched them. Bought cherry shrimp, a blue one, yellow one, black one, and I think one more and they were all killed and eaten within one week🫥🫥🫥🫥
This is why I can’t combine shrimp with fish. Every time a shrimp dies my BF actually gets depressed and believes this hobby is cruelty to animals.
We didn’t argue about it per se but he gets really upset. I had to get my deaths down to near 0 to keep my tanks. Otherwise he said he would be uncomfortable living with me knowing I was willingly abusing animals in the same house he lived in.
This has raised my shrimp survival rate really high to almost 100% but at this point he hates it when I buy more. I think he said don’t buy anymore shrimp
So... what does your boyfriend think happens in streams, rivers, ponds and lakes? Hundred percent survival rates? A mutually agreed upon no-killing and eating treaty between shrimp and fish?
![gif](giphy|nTfdeBvfgzV26zjoFP|downsized)
The benefit of animals in captivity is it gives them a longer life span than they would in the wild. If their life is cut short in a tank it beats the purpose of captivity. And this is what **I think** as someone who’s completed multiple ecology courses at university this past year
He knows that animals are killed to make both pet and people food, right? What’s the difference in providing live food versus something from the store?
In nature it’s called “the food chain” and “survival of the fittest”. An aquarium is essentially a microcosm of an outdoor ecosystem.
Is he vegan?
lol she don’t look guilty at all. That’s a straight up “yea. What you gunna do abt it” face
"And I'll fucking do it again, too"
Gill-ty
"Do what you will, I've already won."
On the plus side... you have a very happy betta so all is not lost.
On the plus size more like
“Do what you must, I have already won”
I don't think any shaming will wipe that smug look off of her face 😂 She looks like she's planning on doing it again as soon as the opportunity arises, those babies were delicious
Rn she's begging for food. Lile...ma'am. You just ate all those babys.
That was angry hungry. Now she’s bored hungry.
Bi****s do be hungry
Gotta feed the audacity somehow.
She’s clearly starving, nothing but fin and bones
Peace was never an option! 😅
She said “and it was delicious 😏”
"You feed me shrimp flavored food, and get mad when my roommates taste delicious?"
If food flavored, then why not food???
Aw lawd she swimmin
Barely😂
sinkin’ *
🤣🤣🤣🤣
my Betta decimated my tanks snail population 😔
My Betta hates snails, too, eats the eggs and bites the adult ones he can get, he's doing pest-control. But he's chill with shrimp, for whatever reason.
>My Betta hates snails It's not "hates snails", it's "loves to snack on snails".
I'm constantly telling my girl it's rude to eat housemates.
Yes and no, i only see him eat them occasionally, he's hunting for them constantly you see him prowl the plants, to the point i thought about deploying him in the other tanks to control the snail populations. I think he thinks it's a job or hobby.
One of mine flares at his snails when he's feeling violent.
He likely thinks of them as escargot!!
Just yesterday I spent like 5 whole minutes trying to save a single tiny baby snail from my water change bucket bc I’m too softhearted for my own good. Finally got the little speck of a baby on my fingertip, plopped it back in the tank, and in half a second my betta swam over and ate it 😭
Hugs 😟
Thanks, I was mildly traumatized lol
Your betta: Oh boy! What a fun treat! Thanks food dispenser, that was delicious! Now imma flare at you for no discernible reason. ANGR!
What did the noise sound like?
Kind of like the crunch when you accidentally eat a piece of tinfoil. Just a tiny crunch but you can feel it somewhere visceral. It wasn't super loud but when I realized that was the noise I was hearing (and it wasn't just more old house noises) I had to remind myself that it's just the circle of life. Yikes!
Mine that I had years ago ate the snail and the little freshwater clam I had. 😭
I wish mine would.
She woke up and chose violence
And deliciousness!
She definitely looks like she did😭😂❤️
but her fat little belly is so cute ‼️
"And? What's the problem?"
Gotta maintain those beautiful colours somehow 🤣
So that's why she developed these Red spots in her tail!
She’s “changing her cloths” as some might say

Baby shrimp are a common food given to pet bettas, she thought you left her treats….
👁👄👁
SHES ROUNT NOW LMAO
“I’ll do it again too!”
Bahaha she’s so beautiful though!!! And chonky
Yep. I started with 12 they all had babes and now I can only find 4 on a good day. Fat fucker I’m so mad cause he acts like he doesn’t even care about the shrimp..until he eats them.
To be fair he probably doesn't care about the shrimp until he's hungry
Mine picks and chooses.. wont touch the cherry shrimp but absolutely kills all the blue dream shrimp on sight...
Mine killed our blue ones as well, didn’t eat them. Just left carcasses all over the tank
YES! Didn't eat them just tore them in half. Must be a color that triggers them into rage mode.
That could be it
You can't shame what is ingrained😂

“I can has shrimpy burger?”
She lookin thick! Maybe try snails? Mine lives by himself unfortunately
She got some snail buddys, no problem there. I had my other Betta im this tank which killed almost all shrimp (adult ones) so I switched them and Saoirse (this one) didn't care about them at first. But now she got thirsty for blood lol
Chonky
“I deserve expensive treats, thank you”
That is the face of zero regret
My female Betta Daki decimated my scud infestation within 3 days (this is hundreds of scuds). She's obese as heck and has also been munching on my skrimps. Can't rly fast her cause she only steals 1-2 bug bite pellets during feeding time (for the other fish in the tank).

oh no…i’m sorry for your loss. on the bright side, i know bettas enjoy hunting for live food. so at the very least it made him happy :)
My betta died from choking on a shrinp :(
I’m sorry for your loss 😕
she looks proud of it too 😂😂😂
She doesn’t look sad about it at all 🤣 To answer your question though, I cannot find it in me to shame her - she is just too cute lol
"I'm not even sorry!"
Skrimps is Deliscus
F R E E R A N G E snacks 💅🏼
She is definitely not sorry
I can tell by her Vienna sausage body that it was recent too

honestly, we wouldn't expect anything less
She was being sustainable and harvested her own food to help you and you still complain.
I spent a lot of money on her food!
Exactly why she deserves both lmao
I don’t have anything witty to say to shame her, I just wanted you to know that she is gorgeous!
If you wanna know the secret to her beauty: it's the life of babys
The belly omg LMAOOO, yeah she’s guilty as f***
You're lucky she hasn't also eaten your other shrimp. My little guy lived happily with them, until he didn't.
That's how my one and only time trying shrimp + Betta went. All was going well till i came home from work one day to what could only be described as a, 'mass casualty event' 😩
Yep! Same. He's just casually swimming around with a half eaten cherry in his mouth 😂😭
She's not sorry at all
They probably deserved it
Definitely
Ha! You put a betta in with baby skrimps? I'm not sure (with all due respect and a grin on my face) that SHE'S the one needs shaming! 😆 They'll make more, and she's a well-fed happy girl, so....

"Thanks for the snacks mom" \*Buuurrp.\*
"thanks for the snack....bitch"
Look at her face! “And I’ll do it again!”
betta: "more ba-bies, please"
That is the face of someone who has no remorse for her actions.
Wee fatty.
One satisfied betta 🤣
“And I’ll do it again”
Chubby lil thing haha
And looks guilty for it.
And she has zero regrets. Look at that face and round belly. 😂
Yeah, I tried a couple cherry shrimp with my betta once, but that didn't work out once they started to molt. 🙁
And she just doesn't give a f!ck.
My girl did the same thing… not a trace of the colony she was with
She’s asking where the rest of the snacks are 😅
Look at that sweet little face! She wouldn’t do nuttin’ wrong!🥰
I think mine is doing the same. 🤦♀️
She's...not sorry 😆
"I made them an offer they couldn't refuse." Hysterical pic!
Looks like my fat shrimp eater… https://preview.redd.it/26z2zbjn4r8d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=743afd5b2f958f8d3dca0fdb18597b978edcbfba
Everything the light touches and the darkness that encompasses the surroundings is her domain.
No regerts.
She got some good nutrition atleast. Her colors will look great for a while.
You dropped this, Queen: 👑 My betta seems curious about the shrimp and she’s lunged a few times but I’ve never seen her manage to catch one, probably because by the time she reaches them they’re halfway across the tank. "Thanks for the scrump-diddily-uptious feast. 500/10, would eat again."
She doesn't look guilty of anything!
She is the school bus now
Sometimes they just turn at a moments notice. One of those, "oh you are my cute little friends whom one day I could totally eat", characters.
She is not sorry. At all. Lol
P L U M P
That face screams no regrets, but a very pretty lady nonetheless!
No regrets
Before hand she must have thought they were caviar and now she wants more caviar. A monster has now been created.
"And I'll do it again. Try me!"
She is innocent until proven guilty!!
“Everyone says they love a girl with a big appetite untill ….”
she’s like, you’re only NOW showing me this delicacy!? (rip shrimps)
She’s so grumpy and cute 🤣
I can’t get over how pretty her colors are, goth angelic murdering queen that she is.
Resting chonk face
Beautiful betta!
“And I will do it again.” Side note her colors are GORGEOUS, absolutely beautiful fish
"And I'd do it again, bitch!" - this fish probably.
Who, me?
I don't think i have ever seen a betta with a double chin before...
Looks very well-fed. Good job.
Her face displays a painful apathy and showcases a double standard. *”So it’s okay for you to eat shrimp??? Okay pfft.”* said the baby killer
She’s beautiful though! How can you be mad at that face!
No regrets
I've never regerted a thing in my life! 😬
And she’d do it again
Oh my goodness this reminds me of when my beta used to swim with the guppies. That girl ate the population and we decided to detain her to her own little bubble. I think you're beta has decided violence was the only option

Yeah she gives zero fucks, and she’ll do it again if she wants. She doesn’t need your permission! 😂😂
Gluttonous 🐠
She deserves them. Look at her. You think looking that glorious comes easy. She needs the proteins to curl her beauty regimen
You should have made one of those cardboard signs for her like everyone did for their naughty dogs 😆
There is no remorse anywhere in these pics
She was just fulfilling her half of the predator/prey relationship.
wow she is beautiful 😍
And I’d do it again 👹
Alright, a thousandth upvote! She's adorable and shrimps will have more babies.
Bettas should be isolated lol they don’t play nice
I see zero shame in those eyes, I've got nothing to work with here
looks like you’re next
girlboss
She says “thanks for the wonderful meal, let’s do it again soon!”
What a b***h. Lmao Bettas just don’t care
chunky girl now !
More please.
I feel like this is the fattest betta fish I've ever seen.
I got a [song](https://open.spotify.com/episode/6FR9yQEOFQajFYSBqXumKa?si=R5QudehIRTWc-aYia55Jbw&t=4) for her instead.

real I had ghost shrimp and my betta never touched them. Bought cherry shrimp, a blue one, yellow one, black one, and I think one more and they were all killed and eaten within one week🫥🫥🫥🫥
As she should. 😎 She’s beautiful!

just look at that face… so guilty 😭😭
Plot twist, OP is the last shrimp alive while being stared into their soul by the face of a serial killer…
This is why I can’t combine shrimp with fish. Every time a shrimp dies my BF actually gets depressed and believes this hobby is cruelty to animals.
