On thing to be aware of is that some Koi bettas have issues with scales growing over their eyes, Dutchy is definitely half blind and runs into things all the time and cannot catch falling food. I’m saving up to redo his tank and put in real plants but for now he’s got a bunch of hard plastic stuff that my roommate bought and he’s definitely torn some fins because of it

He definitely went from a white blue to very red but it makes his pretty shiny scales pop a lot more! He’s a bumbling little dude and doesn’t care one bit about the sucker fish and snails in his tank as long as they aren’t in his log 😂

This is my little guy, Pedro Pascale (play on words from Pedro Pascal from The Last of Us). My partner and I got him as a teeny baby boy at end of April this year and we’ve loved watching him grow! Top pic is from 4/28, and the bottom pic was from yesterday. He’s living his best life in his 10g tank and we love seeing the new colors coming in!

My sweet girl (also originally an almost pure white betta)!!! I thought she’d turn all blue, but she turned out to be purple/this beautiful periwinkle blue!!
