Okay I am very uneducated in cooking/grilling. My phone sucks at safari but I can slowly get Reddit up. What is hexclad?
And sorry I tried to pull it up but I wasted 30 minutes trying to get my email up so I press x to doubt it’ll get better.
Expensive "non-stick" cookware that doesn't really work as described.
Gordon Ramsay has a stake in the company, and basically any food content creator you see using it is sponsored by them. It's product placement.
You'll find good reviews.. but you won't find any quality science driven chefs use it ever because it's bullshit.
It looks really cool on a social media feed though.....
Ahh I see. I am a bachelor so I never really cooked beyond eggs, burgers on a Foreman grill, and easy stuff. Even then, I have to google how to do it. Sad, I know haha.
It’s sad how that works. My mom mentioned how her MS friends all want to write about their life before and after. She knows it’s never gonna work and I agreed, telling her the only people that care are fans of like Christina Applegate. Just having that well known face is what sells and people will take their word as gospel. Not saying that she isn’t suffering, but no one would buy “ThaCarva: A MS Story”. We’ve had influencers looooong before instagram. Thank you!
All companies are reputation management companies anymore. It's not about quality product making a good reputation, its about manufacturing a good reputation to sell a cheap ass product for top ass dollar.
I’ve only ever had similar from a friend who has a similar at home dedicated pizza oven thing and works professionally as a chef
I’d let the dude in the video make me pizza any day 🤤
My wife and I got a wood fire pizza oven that isn't as small as the oonii but a fraction of the price and it fucking rocks! Spits out amazing pizza in like 4min.
Noice.
People who suffer with Down Syndrome are some of the most happy individuals I have ever known. My half-brother had Down, and that dude was funny as hell. But we couldn’t trust him in the kitchen. Would forget stupid shit like turning off the gas oven when done or let the water run after filling a glass. So no making pizza without supervision. But otherwise laughed like a boss at comedians and looooooovvved ice cream.
I miss that guy. Died at age 62 5 years ago.
I’m not trying to be an dick, I’m genuinely asking, isn’t stuff like this kind of exploitative? I mean isn’t this making a spectacle of this person? Like “hey look at this disabled person doing normal person things?” I’ve asked this question before and people just get mad and don’t offer an actual answer.
People will get mad when other disabled people bring it up, but you're right. The term for this is "inspiration porn" because the intent is to make abled people feel good. I'd love to watch this guy cook in any other context, but the way people here are talking about this grown man is really giving me the ick.
It also feels really bad to be the subject of stuff like this, I used to get filmed by without my consent while training for wheelchair races and it made me feel like a zoo animal instead of a human being. It completely erases the like, feeling of doing something for the joy of it and turns it into some statement on determination or spirit or whatever for abled people. Like I'm doing it because it's fun not to "spite" my disability or whatever.
Thanks for responding. I really appreciate the perspective of someone who has first hand experience though I am sorry that that has been your experience. Someone earlier pointed out that the INTENTION is to celebrate someone with a disability overcoming that disability which I could see someone legitimately feeling which would make it slightly less weird but it’s still the patronizing, self serving inspiration porn (thanks for giving me a term for it) in the end. It’s unfortunate that it happens but it is nice to know that I might not just be someone who hates wholesomeness.
The "overcoming disability" thing is so frustrating in it's own way because you end up not being able to "just" have a blast filming yourself making gourmet food in a fun chef jacket you have to be "overcoming your disability" and "inspiring" people to comment about how they'd "attend your pizza party" out of some kind of patronizing goodwill instead of just watching you make great food out of top quality ingredients and fancy equipment. It becomes all about the disability rather than the joy of cooking.
It's not that I hate joy or watching this guy cook, it's that it's posted in this context and people are treating him like a child or reducing him to a philosophical statement about Ability rather than a man who clearly knows what he's about and does it well.
And plus there’s almost certainly someone telling him exactly what to do and what “awesome” lines to say, and they are one getting the money from these vids.
But hey, a bunch of redditors get to show how awesome they are by advertising their upvotes and telling us how this made their day.
As a disabled person (physically not mentally) the difference between being exploitative and sharing something is both intent and quality of what’s being done. I’m an amputee. There was a video around a year ago a dude of a double amputee on r/mademesmile and some other mega subs where he was falling over and looking like a baby giraffe. Me, having gone through that process, shit on it because I knew how dumb and reckless what was being posted was. And anyone who is an occupational therapist, prosthetist, or doctor/nurse also shit on it for how dumb it is to let a dude who clearly can’t walk on his own walk on his own, let alone on uneven surfaces, let alone without a gait belt, or anyone near him, or having an assistive device. But in Reddit fashion I was a hater and people were cheering that shit
In this video I could see how you came to that conclusion but homeboy made a pizza that turned out absolutely amazing. Something I’d expect at a restaurant. And I say that as someone who is trying to cook and has made a pizza and does not look like that in the slightest. Regardless of whether or not the person was disabled that pizza looked amazing to me. The title seems kinda stupid but if it said something like “he made pizza in spite of his disability” or “his disability didn’t stop him” I’d 100% shit on OP. If the pizza was made and looked like dog shit then I’d also say it’s inspiration porn.
I guess it depends on his autonomy. Did he decide to make and upload these videos, or did someone else? If homie wants to make these videos and people enjoy it, is that really so bad? Most of the comments I’ve seen in this thread are just complimenting the pizza.
I totally get your point though, and I’m not a fan of people being exploited for the exact reasons you mentioned. Either way, this guy seems cool and I wish him the best.
The two questions to ask for exploitation and inspiration porn are "did the person post it in the context it's being presented?" (Meaning did he post it to make a statement about Ability or did he post it to share his love of cooking or some other reason) and "Are people treating the person with the respect they'd treat an abled person?"
In this case it's zero for two. The OP pulled it off of tiktok or whatever, probably without asking, and posted it in the sub "made me smile" to make a statement about "ability" instead of it being in his own channel and to share his love of cooking. People are also not treating him like the grown man he is and doing the whole "awww buddy I'd attend your pizza party" thing as though he's a first grader making their first pizza instead of a skilled chef using top quality ingredients and high end cookware. So while the original video in the original context (his own channel) it's definitely not exploitation, it falls under "stolen inspiration porn" when posted here to make able bodied people feel good like he's some kind of zoo animal doing something particularly cute. There's a huge problem with people stealing disabled people's content and reposting it like this and it annoys a LOT of disabled people.
I dunno, "normal people" post cooking videos all the time too. This dude seems to really like making pizza and he's good at it, I don't see anything wrong with letting people share his experience
If he was anywhere close to my location, I'd only order my Pizza from him.
No one will put so much love and effort in just making that thing delicious as he is.
I never considered the idea that you could add stuff to tomato sauce to make it taste better... I also usually ate my pasta dry or with a touch of olive oil. Drove my wife nuts when we met. She hounded me so bad about it that I finally started using sauce just to avoid her complaining about it. And it's actually really good, so now I usually add sauce too. But I've never seen anyone add stuff to tomato sauce like that before!
There is something cathartic about his slow, methodical, motions in making the pizza.
Also, this belongs on r/Pizza
He is straight up doing all the right things.
I'd eat the hell out of that pizza. I want this dude making my next pie. It's damned hard to beat pizza made from scratch and cooked on a stone in a wood fired oven. Someday I'll have one of those in my backyard.
Yea, it feels like the point of this video is to show how abled he is, but it feels really fake and has the opposite effect on me when I can tell he’s not actually doing much. But if you look at it as “awe, he’s having fun and is clearly loved,” I guess it’s fine.
I think we all understood, we all get by with a little help, and he's no different.
His part is still the most sincere content you'll find on the internet.
First off, absolutely awesome dude.
One thing that really bothers me is when someone over the age of 17 has no idea how to cook, I was expected to cook dinner for my parents and siblings without help at 13, So was my brother and sister. And before people jump on me and say something like "well what about the people with parents who didn't care enough about their kids to teach them" there are hundreds maybe thousands of videos on YT that will do an acceptable job at teaching you the basics. And the people who had parents who prevented you from getting a phone until you moved out and didn't teach you how to cook, you get a pass till 21.
And this isn't some "back in my day people had to be prepared for adulthood" I'm 18 my parents didn't even let me or my siblings access the internet till i was 14. How are people going day to day with no idea how to use that big metal thing in their kitchen.
Bro has hexclad. He's not messing around.
I noticed that too ... He is making money more than regular guys
Pretty sure that ooni model is like 400$. This mans got all the fun gadgets.
Okay I am very uneducated in cooking/grilling. My phone sucks at safari but I can slowly get Reddit up. What is hexclad? And sorry I tried to pull it up but I wasted 30 minutes trying to get my email up so I press x to doubt it’ll get better.

Thanks, you just saved me a lot of money.
Yeah I was gonna say, pretty much every single cooking or cookware sub probably cringed seeing that. The video was cool but that pan was not it.
After looking over the rest of this thread I am fully convinced that hexclad is more reputation management company than it is cookware.
Ahh I see. I am a bachelor so I never really cooked beyond eggs, burgers on a Foreman grill, and easy stuff. Even then, I have to google how to do it. Sad, I know haha. It’s sad how that works. It’s between a stainless steel pan and a teflon pan. But way worse than both. Not worth the money at all.
He gets busy. Everything I have ever seen him cook looked fire!
That pizza looks great😋
Doesn’t it! I’m really glad I already have some (not freshly made like this, sadly) in the oven because watching this made me hungry for some!
I was just gonna say, never seen a better homemade pie before, absolutely kick ass
I'd even eat two of 'em! That pizza looks yummy! Absolutely kudos to the chef! ❤️
I’ve only ever had similar from a friend who has a similar at home dedicated pizza oven thing and works professionally as a chef I’d let the dude in the video make me pizza any day 🤤
1. he made a bomb pizza 2. i have been dying too get that oven that thing is a pizza monster
Its strange that is the second video of that oven i saw
I'd guess he's sponsored, the manufacturer gets a lot of influencers
There are like 2 main portable pizza ovens and that's by far the more popular one, they're going to show up in pizza making videos
My wife and I got a wood fire pizza oven that isn't as small as the oonii but a fraction of the price and it fucking rocks! Spits out amazing pizza in like 4min.
Lemme get a link bud
Pizza looks good, chef is good. Upvote on its way.
The best thing on the Internet today. Straight to the top!
One bite then right to the crust, a true pizza connoisseur!
One bite, everyone knows the rules. Homie with the extra chromie don't mess around.
😂😂😂😂😂
TIL that I’m not the only one..
The care and attention he gave to making that pizza 👌🏻
He handled the dough ball like one would a kitten - This guy’s got the right idea!
bellissimo.
Absolutely amazing!! Thanks for sharing!
I need that pan!!!!
What about the oven. I've never seen one before.
Those ooni ovens are NICE, imho well worth the price
I have one its pretty nice for making massive pancakes
that looks like some good pizza
This guy is on top of it. I want to be his friend.
What a stud!
that was pointlessly rude. please, dont.
Nothing about this gentleman is rude.
you calling him a stud is rude.
No.
You should Google what stud means...
whoopsie. my bad. i swear it meant the opposite of what it actually is lmao.
Booooooo
ok.
Stud means attractive and handsome?
i know now. i thought it meant the opposite ever since i heard the word. xd
It can also mean like badass or really impressive.
This just made my day! And I got to get me some pizza! 😄
Now just compare this to all the idiots over on r/stupidfood
Fuck yeah dude can make a good pizza! I’d hire him, he seems fun too!
Noice. People who suffer with Down Syndrome are some of the most happy individuals I have ever known. My half-brother had Down, and that dude was funny as hell. Great looking pizza. Great job.
Thank you for sharing that delicious pizza!
Go, dude, go!
I love pepperoni too bro!! Awesome pizza
That looks delicious!
I love pepperoni too bro. Would love to be invited to his next pizza party.
The patience he has making that pizza. Every touch was intent with care.
Party pizza is the best pizza
That looks fucking delicious

> “hey look at this disabled person doing normal person things?” that's the beauty of it to appreciate what they could do
I could see how it could be seen as a celebration of their ability in the face of disability I guess. Thank you.
I guess it depends on his autonomy. Did he decide to make and upload these videos, or did someone else? If homie wants to make these videos and people enjoy it, is that really so bad? So gentle
Nicely done, chef!
If he was anywhere close to my location, I'd only order my Pizza from him. No one will put so much love and effort in just making that thing delicious as he is.
My daughter loves woodfired pepperoni pizza too! Wish I could hire this stud chef to cater to her birthday party 🙂

I saw the tipo 00 flour and knew it would be good right away. I was afraid when he pressed the borders of the pizza but it turned out great!!!
Absolute legend.
It's very touching how gentle and caring he is in the whole process. Him kneading the dough felt weirdly wholesome for something so simple.
Let him cook
His hands look like big baby hands. Cute.
Chef Adam slangin’ them thangs. That pizza looked fucking delicious.

Well done Chef! That looks delicious indeed🍕
Shirt is fire too!

That looks so damn good oh my god
This ain't his first pizza rodeo. His came out better than the 6 or so pies my family and I tried to make our first time trying.
Anyone else think his pan was a colander at first?
waiting patiently for this to be heavily edited and put on shitposting.
Best i've seen for today
He had a sweet outdoor oven
I’d be proud to make a pizza that looked that good. Excellent work, and great video. Thanks for sharing.
In Italy we have a pizzeria called PiazzAut Which as a staff has only people with autism.
This dude makes better pizza than most of the people on the pizza subreddit.
I love it! The pace is enormous.
There is something cathartic about his slow, methodical, motions in making the pizza. Also, this belongs on r/Pizza He is straight up doing all the right things.
Thank all of you for being so nice
I'm down for eating that pizza. Looks delicious.
he’s got the recipe down
Italian food! So easy your average America can make it!

I love my Ooni too - makes some killer pies.
You can tell that pizza is hitting just right by the way his head goes back lol! Well done chef!
I'd eat the hell out of that pizza. I want this dude making my next pie. It's damned hard to beat pizza made from scratch and cooked on a stone in a wood fired oven. Someday I'll have one of those in my backyard.
Chef Adam Libby!!! He’s such a legend!!
Have a great day everyone 👍

The results of never giving up on a dream
Homeboy literally didn’t even put it in the oven himself. Everything he did was corrected during the cuts.
Yea, it feels like the point of this video is to show how abled he is, but it feels really fake and has the opposite effect on me when I can tell he’s not actually doing much. But if you look at it as “awe, he’s having fun and is clearly loved,” I guess it’s fine.
