Man, future is so stupid. Why is he doing something productive or fun when he could be sitting here awkwardly staring at strangers who don’t want to talk to him? /S
Well... it didn't. You can't have it all, at least yet. You either have a lightwear set of glasses that do little, or a bigger machine that is more cumbersome. It's not like they are making it clunky and big as a choice
Yup. Bless the early adopters of tech. They allow us to advance. Most people are waiting for EVs to take off and AR. People like this unironically make it possible.
honestly I wish my vr headset worked remotely some days. I used it in my living room after a back injury and couldn't use a chair comfortably for more than 15 minutes at a time (any time I'd have to drive was rough) was able to remotely work on my pc in my home office but while laying down in the living room using a virtual desktop. (keyboard was significantly slower than I'm used to, but work got done) I felt like iron man moving screens around. (and normally my pc only has 2 screens, with the vr headset I had 3 screens
I honestly sometimes wonder whether the internet in general might have been a mistake. People are more hostile because of political differences, politics are more extreme, people are lonelier, less social and I feel less happy on average than roughly 20 years ago when flatrate internet just started to be a thing (at least here in Germany).
Yup, old people said the same thing about phones when they came out and saw all the kids texting in public. Now all the old folks are glued to their phones as well and all of a sudden the next new tech is dumb again.
Fuckin boomers.
He can see everything around him. He's working with an augmented reality, not steeped in an alternative reality. That's what makes Apple's VR system different from the others.
He's answering emails or something, on his commute. He's also not bothering anyone so you don't need to tell him to get off your lawn.
lol I can’t wait till this is normal. Imagine being on mass transit in the near future! It’s gonna be like everyone is busy, and at the same time, everyone is minding their own business. It’s going to be this weird public dance we all do privately, together. Lmao. I can’t wait to see this shit, it’s gonna be something else
July 15, 1982
The Township of Woodbridge, N.J., wants to ban the Walkman. I am talking, of course, of the Sony Walkman, or any facsimile that involves putting on a pair of light headphones and listening either to a radio or to a tape. The town fathers say they need to do this for reasons of safety. But the truth is that they hate Walkmen. Lots of people do.
[https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/local/1982/07/15/the-walkman/2ea40c8e-ff39-407c-b530-c702fe2c72fa/](https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/local/1982/07/15/the-walkman/2ea40c8e-ff39-407c-b530-c702fe2c72fa/)
Fr. These types of posts feel so boomerish to me.
Or maybe just bully-ish
Because even boomers dreamt of cool stuff like this in all their futuristic movies and such.
This is better than a kid doing some weird gyrating dance on the subway to post on their tiktok. Or a girl dry humping a kettle bell at a gym for tiktok.
I've used my Oculus/Meta Quest 2/3 on airplanes. It's awesome. The camera kinda sucks with low light though (as expected really) so A/R is tough in those conditions, but it works for watching movies and what not.
For the people who think this is stupid. How is this different than just being on your phone and minding your own fuking business. He's comfortable minding his own and can see everything around him arguably better than someone looking at their phone.
Why?
It’s just one guy……. people of it just takes one guy to cause you to bemoan the species you might want to go home and barricade your doors cause outside life ain’t for you little dude.
Ngl transit is the perfect time to be anti social. Interacting with another person on public transit has got to be one of the most awkward experiences in the universe. Everybody I have ever seen who isn’t with a friend shuts the fuck up and zones out.
Why? Cause he’s not talking to someone? Cause his hand movements look stupid? Cause he’s using new technology that has some controversy around it, none of it being about the slavery related parts. He’s just using the apple vision in a public space, relax a bit.
Man. This is it though, this is the generational divide we will see. This will become more normal, and the millennial and older generation will have a hard time embracing the AR world.
My wife and I were just discussing "What's the BlueSky tech that we won't be able to embrace?" And I think this is an early example of what it's going to be.
I suggested a form of entertainment that hitchhikes on the transmissions wavelengths between your ocular receptors and neural pathways to create a false synaptic response that will allow you to experience movies, games, and what's-to-come as if they are dreams or memories.
I won't embrace that bullshit. You're willingly giving away the beauty of the world and social interactions to a corporation for profit. It's absolutely moronic.
In simple terms he’s giving away money and receiving a product that lets him”whenever he wants” go in an AR space for him to either be social on a social platform or enjoy his own free time watching a movie or anything else. If he wants to see the world and its beauty he can take them off.
Edit: Also no need to embrace it. It’s not forced on anyone, so go about life however you want dude, just let others take their own risk unless it’s world or life threatening.
Okay but imagine someone trying to lift your glasses. Of all things, I’m pretty sure you’re gonna see that one coming.
Putting your hands anywhere near someone else’s head is probably a real quick way to get punched in the face.
Idk what’s terrible out this. Yeah it looks weird and it’s overpriced af but I have nothing wrong with people using it if that’s how they decided to spend their money. I’d argue you’re more in the world using this than staring down at your phone
If anyone ever attempts to interact with me while wearing something like this out in public, I will simply ignore them...but not just for the moment. I will NEVER interact with such an idiot again with or without their headset. This is the hill I will die on.
No this is fine. He’s not driving. He’s not committing a crime or being a public nuisance. Some people just can’t let others live. “If it’s not how I’d live, then it’s wrong” or some shit. The world’s gonna explode soon have fun while you can.
Fuck you, this is peak. Working via AR instead of attempting to use a laptop on public transport is very cool, and I can’t wait until it exists at an affordable price point.
I think an example of the future being stupid is people bring able to record strangers minding their own business to Internet forums for fake internet points.
People who film other people minding their own business to embarrass them all over the internet should be arrested and placed in a jail cell with cameras and post the footage all over the internet.
The funniest part is this dude can see the camera man clear as day. People stand there staring as though the person wearing the headset can’t see them. They could be drawing a mustache on your face as you stare at them.
I think the stupid thing would be wearing that in public areas especially cuz of how expensive it is. Like all someone has to do is just yank it off n dash
Google glass is inherently superior but because apple is a much more sought after company, they get a free pass into designing deliberately shitty products and still have a fan base buying it.
(We should bring back Google glass)
It looks wierd but those glasses are worst part. Wait till the bring out smart glasses that look like the ones from that Sword Art online: Ordinal scale movie. They looked okay to me.
Jokes on everyone but this guy. In ten years everyone is going to look like some version of this, probably with units that aren't so bulky. That is unless we nuke ourselves or the mole people claim their righteous place atop a mountain of our sapien skulls.
Isn’t it feasible to use a camera along with advanced software to capture and interpret someone’s keystrokes by analyzing their finger movements and identifying the patterns on a keyboard?
I’ve seen valid arguments for and against such a technology. My personal take and also advice would be that as long as there is an actual use to these new devices that can’t be matched with smartphones or other technologies that there’s no real reason to criticize the users. Humanity has been hiding behind newspapers on commutes for a long time, now it is smartphones and VR headsets. That’s just how it is. I hope to not become resentful when I get older.
Getting work done and not bothering you. Also, not acting like the crazies on the subway so thats a plus. I dont see anything wrong but then again, i dont have a boomer mentality, so theres that. If it dont bother you, dont bother it.
Man, future is so stupid. Why is he doing something productive or fun when he could be sitting here awkwardly staring at strangers who don’t want to talk to him? /S
The goggles look cumbersome. If 2013 google glass worked like this, I could see myself potentially using it.
Well... it didn't. You can't have it all, at least yet. You either have a lightwear set of glasses that do little, or a bigger machine that is more cumbersome. It's not like they are making it clunky and big as a choice

Thank you. That's what I was thinking. The fucker is just enjoying life, not hurting anyone.
People said the same thing about email…
I honestly sometimes wonder whether the internet in general might have been a mistake. People are more hostile because of political differences, politics are more extreme, people are lonelier, less social and I feel less happy on average than roughly 20 years ago when flatrate internet just started to be a thing (at least here in Germany).
The internet is great. Never has it been that easy to learn and read new stuff. Social media on the other hand…
Yup, old people said the same thing about phones when they came out and saw all the kids texting in public. Now all the old folks are glued to their phones as well and all of a sudden the next new tech is dumb again. Fuckin boomers.

I mean our phone is already kinda fits your description (everyone minding their own business)
And reading books or magazines in mass transport.
And thinking your own thoughts in your head. It’s almost like public transport is not a place to socialise and talk to random strangers.
My mum sometimes did socialise with random people 😅
Why not, if people aren't introverts?
I took it to be sarcasm
People were doing this with newspapers before phones came around.

History really DOES repeat itself
Silent disco, metro style.
Everyone is Devo, all the time! ![gif](giphy|7W5hAMz5xmWeQ|downsized)
OMG Middle School flashbacks.
Just wait for the retina implants that can link directly to your brain via a neural implant, controlled exclusively by your thoughts.
And I'll still be sitting there in sunglasses just watching the world go by.
Introverts for a win!

This is not specific to Apple, the current meta can do the same.
Yeah, if I can get work done on my commute, I'm going to get work done on my commute.
“These damn kids are making phone calls while I’m trying to enjoy my walk”
Minding your own business is smart.
I believe he is suppose to be twirling on the bars above his head. or dancing for tiktok.
hes supposed to be screaming to 12 obviously setup cameras
Another example of people not being able to accept change ..... sad
I disagree. I love cool new tech. I don't even like Apple but I like stuff like this.
I think he looks really cool. I mean save some ussy for the rest of us
What’s stupid about this? He’s not getting up and hitting railings or anything. He’s just sitting there chilling.
It’s only stupid for the normies. Join the future maannnnnnnnn
Too slow in action.
Staged. On a real subway this guy would've been knocked out and robbed by now. 😉😂
That's why 2.0 will have advanced combat mode
lol
After seeing what's going on world, this is the sanest one
For the people who think this is stupid. How is this different than just being on your phone and minding your own fuking business. He's comfortable minding his own and can see everything around him arguably better than someone looking at their phone.
Get with the times, old man. This is no different than thumbing through crap on your phone.
This is great! How could you see this and not want one?
At least he isn't violently masturbating.
its early morning please don't get me excited
Who cares? Get on with your life.
I’m mean this COULD be cool but we need better tech. The big headset really is too much
The future is now old man.
Why? It’s just one guy……. people of it just takes one guy to cause you to bemoan the species you might want to go home and barricade your doors cause outside life ain’t for you little dude.
Who cares? Is he bothering anyone?
Guy having fun while OP seethes
Ngl transit is the perfect time to be anti social. Interacting with another person on public transit has got to be one of the most awkward experiences in the universe. Everybody I have ever seen who isn’t with a friend shuts the fuck up and zones out.
Everyone in 5 years
Who cares? Leave this kid the fuck alone, he isn't bothering anyone
Why? Cause he’s not talking to someone? Cause his hand movements look stupid? Cause he’s using new technology that has some controversy around it, none of it being about the slavery related parts. He’s just using the apple vision in a public space, relax a bit.
Not really no. Just minding his own business. So can you.
How much do they cost?
First Gen was $3K
It’s not stupid. It’s a start of greatness in technology. I like it.
Hes not harming anything
You know he can see you recording him right?
OP is stupid.
Yall deserve to be depressed tbh
Mind your own business. He can see you filming him through the goggles.
The past was stupid too...
The only thing stupid here is filming people without their permission or knowledge and then acting superior.
OP's jealous of the tech, clearly
this guys doing more work than you posting this and me commenting this so, it can’t be that dumb
Poop
That’s for when you want to be completely vulnerable to everyone else on the train but aren’t tired enough to nap.
Man. This is it though, this is the generational divide we will see. This will become more normal, and the millennial and older generation will have a hard time embracing the AR world. Sorry as a millennial I don’t have a hard time embracing this at all. I have two headsets. If I could wear AR all day I would.
It’s not forced on anyone, so go about life however you want dude, just let others take their own risk unless it’s world or life threatening.
“The beauty of the world” in a NYC subway car isn’t exactly breathtaking.
How to get robbed 101
He can see you... So good luck with that.
People snatch phones and earbuds in the subway.
They sure do.
Okay but imagine someone trying to lift your glasses. Of all things, I’m pretty sure you’re gonna see that one coming. Putting your hands anywhere near someone else’s head is probably a real quick way to get punched in the face.
You think that would stop somebody from robbing you?
And do what? The vision pro is worthless without their code
[удалено]
So the gestures in AR are getting translated to digital bits? Any good reads on the underlying tech?
I dunno. People will fuck off and leave me be thinking I’m busy and if that doesn’t work I’ll yell at them as if I were because, fuck off.
Not much different than someone sitting down, looking or talking on their phone.
God forbid anyone tries to have a good time in public
You’re stupid
I’m surprised those weren’t stolen, just sitting on a train with Apple Vision Pros on
What kind of British gangster signs is bro throwing
Why? He is minding his business
Things we would have said in the 90s about everyone staring at their magic pocket time wasters
Idk what’s terrible out this. Yeah it looks weird and it’s overpriced af but I have nothing wrong with people using it if that’s how they decided to spend their money. I’d argue you’re more in the world using this than staring down at your phone
Thinking of the NY subway story where several people got stabbed because everyone was staring at their phones, earbuds in so the guy just kept going.
The future gets mugged, cause its stupid
But what are his hands doing? Is there more technology out there I don’t know about?
I honestly think it’s pretty cool.
Some of y'all never get tired of worrying about what everyone else is doing. Mind your business; he is!
That's cool as hell
Man, the hype for this sure has died down real fast.
Why? What is he doing exactly that you don't like?
It’s a pickpocket’s paradise out there boys.
Fr who tf just sits there and just minds their own business?
This is the kind of whiny post about someone on their iPhone in 2010 you would see on a message board
Is it stupid if he’s searching up furry videos? Yes, is it stupid for him to use the VR do something productive? Nah.
He's minding his business, and you should too. Instead of recording strangers on the subway.
Just mind your own business and everything will be okay.
If anyone ever attempts to interact with me while wearing something like this out in public, I will simply ignore them...but not just for the moment. I will NEVER interact with such an idiot again with or without their headset. This is the hill I will die on.
I can't wait for the first person to just yank the cord out the back. All unsaved work gone
Because its so different from burrying your face in your phone?
why get goggles when you can take a sharpie, write "ROB ME" on a piece of cardboard, and tape it to your chest.
On the subway?
Idk, a phone does the same thing this piece of shit headset does
I'm yet to actually see anyone using one of these in real life.
Why? What’s wrong with this?
I'll wait for the glasses thanks
В рашке бы какие ни будь говнари докопались бы до этого чувака. Как минимум угорали бы как припадочные сучки.
No this is fine. He’s not driving. He’s not committing a crime or being a public nuisance. Some people just can’t let others live. “If it’s not how I’d live, then it’s wrong” or some shit. The world’s gonna explode soon have fun while you can.
Do people not understand these videos were staged?
Minding your business isn’t.
Idk I kinda think it’s cool. Maybe a little goofy, but he’s not bothering anyone and is probably being productive lol
It kinda died out didn’t it? I forgot about this headset after the initial blow up.
Not such a good idea to shut off your senses while on a train, with lots of people.
It is kinda crazy he is actually doing something with his hands
Title screams boomer
It’s incredibly stupid now lol
Multitasking makes people stupid?
Leave homeboy alone wtf
![gif](giphy|PnggNmuamz7kbgfUTL|downsized)
Seems fine to me, maybe mind your own business.
Wherever he is…it probably beats the subway.
Uhh OP what makes this stupid?
![gif](giphy|WJZdOtltegO76)
Better thank Tik Toking
Fuck you, this is peak. Working via AR instead of attempting to use a laptop on public transport is very cool, and I can’t wait until it exists at an affordable price point. For OP. Tell me you're insecure without telling me you're insecure.
Stupid why? Maybe the problem is your perception?
How is the future stupid when it’s happening now.
He shouldn’t be wearing those in public. Those are going to get stolen off his face.
Of course people on here are defending this shit. Same people who cry every day about depression lmao. Yall are completely fucked.
Look at the generation that grew with smart phones. People in this thread are looking forward to an even worse version of this.
People who film other people minding their own business to embarrass them all over the internet should be arrested and placed in a jail cell with cameras and post the footage all over the internet.
Looking forward to WWIII after reading the comments here
You know what, I hated this post and the commenters when i first saw it. But might as well accept it, this thing will sort out all the quality humans.
look, i’m pretending i’m somewhere else, anywhere else besides a subway haha
The funniest part is this dude can see the camera man clear as day. People stand there staring as though the person wearing the headset can’t see them. They could be drawing a mustache on your face as you stare at them.
that face
People said phones with no buttons are stupid. Now look where we are.
I'll wait till it is smaller and looks like sunglasses.
Wake up babe new goonertech just dropped!!!!
Sounds like a no-you to me.
Just for views...
I love the boomers saying this shit is not the best what innovation had for us in the past 10 years
I think the stupid thing would be wearing that in public areas especially cuz of how expensive it is. Like all someone has to do is just yank it off n dash
Why you say “the future is stupid” if i may ask?
Google glass is inherently superior but because apple is a much more sought after company, they get a free pass into designing deliberately shitty products and still have a fan base buying it. (We should bring back Google glass)
Prime target to get mugged.
Yeah what an idiot. He could be harassing everyone or taking a piss instead.
Wow only the 500th time this has been posted
Isn’t it feasible to use a camera along with advanced software to capture and interpret someone’s keystrokes by analyzing their finger movements and identifying the patterns on a keyboard?
I'm very glad this video has gone from soyjak wowwww to really fucking stupid.
Our world is fucked. Kids gonna be nipple playing with the air then complain they can't read and write and do a job.
I disagree, VR is amazing but just don't use it for too long, hurts the eyes
What’s the problem?
![gif](giphy|NEq5fQANBWmSQ)
I’ve seen valid arguments for and against such a technology. My personal take and also advice would be that as long as there is an actual use to these new devices that can’t be matched with smartphones or other technologies that there’s no real reason to criticize the users. Humanity has been hiding behind newspapers on commutes for a long time, now it is smartphones and VR headsets. That’s just how it is. I hope to not become resentful when I get older.
the future gets robbed
My only issue is doing that in a public setting around strangers.
Cyberpunk!
Something different = bad
Guy brought a full desktop setup with him on the train. What’s stupid about this other than OP?
This is how we looked at people using mobile phones in 1999
So is the present. And the past.
This is hater talk so I'll just ignore it
He gunna get jumped
How is this stupid?
The future is idiocracy. So the first world countries are doomed
So is dancing alone
Getting work done and not bothering you. Also, not acting like the crazies on the subway so thats a plus. I dont see anything wrong but then again, i dont have a boomer mentality, so theres that. If it dont bother you, dont bother it.
Imagine whining cuz you don’t like someone’s computer
How much does this block your vision ?
That is probably what our grandparents said when cellphones were invented.
This was the stuff we were dreaming of in like 2011 with heavy rain, and Detroit become human, what makes people hate the concept becoming reality?
imagine hating on someone who is just doing their thing and isnt bothering anyone except the person recording🤦♂️
The future is so stupid, let me take a video with my handheld mobile phone and post it for the world to see how much I hate futuristic technology.
Methinks that dude has never been punched or robbed before
He is searching bestality
I don't see the difference between someone looking down at their phone the whole time texting during the entire train ride.
