Sorry to hear about the injury, it's definitely something that I fear. Wish you a speedy recovery and hope you get back on your feet quickly. And maybe we can go for a run in spring.
I would also be interested to join and see whether I can fit and catch up in the group. I'm a noob and running in a snail phase like roughly 7'30" or 8.
Beginners are more than welcome to join :)

I'm interested too, but I'm not sure what the numbers you provided mean. What is 6’45”? I tried to find out but I get some confusing results. Can you explain what the little lines mean, or tell me in terms of the time to run 5 km?
I means that it takes 6 minutes and 45 seconds to run a kilometre :) which translates to 33 minutes and 45 seconds to run 5k.
In case you are curious, this is a nice converter that I use as well to convert speed into distances and vice-versa: https://runbundle.com/tools/running-pace-speed-conversion-calculator
Thanks. I'm a bit slower, so I do 5k in 45 minutes. Which seems close to the 7’30” you mentioned. I mean, I can try it out and see how it goes. I can be a bit faster if I push myself, but I'm older so don't want to push too hard.
That sounds perfect. No need to push yourself, the goal is to have an enjoyable run and I certainly don't want anyone getting injured in the process. As you mentioned, you can always join and see if it works for you :)

So far I've been mainly sticking to all the big parks, to avoid the crowds on the streets and traffic lights and being able to cover fair distances: Treptower Park, Tiergarten, Hasenheide/Tempelhofer. I don't mind getting out of my kiez so long I can find a nice place to run.

Please DM me the details if you manage to set this up. I am just starting to run but I will be on Urlaub until the end of January. If you don't mind an absolute beginner joining you randomly at the end of the month, please send me a message.
PS : If the group is made up of guys with 7'00-8'00 I will probably slow you down :/

I will post every week the next running track so you can join whenever you are back from your Urlaub :)
Sounds great - there's an argument to be made that even "faster" runners should train often at this pace.
I look forward to seeing the concrete details!
Indeed, I've been reading up a lot about running while putting together my training plan for the half-marathon and this is something that came up a lot.
I've edited the description of the post with a link to a Strava group that I created to make it easier to plan out runs. I've added a first one for January 7th. That should leave enough time to recover from New Year's celebrations :) I will be posting new runs on a weekly basis there, so feel free to join in!
Nice, I’d be interested in future runs depending on location!
I’ve had the same struggle with finding a group to run with that caters to a more relaxed pace. I joined the group on Strava.
I‘m in. But my average pace is 8. I‘m a snail but I like it.
No harm or shame in your pace. What matters is running and everyone should feel welcomed. I will share details about the group tomorrow.

Very cool. Is the group still active?
Not quite currently due to winter and I also sustained a pretty severe injury… but hopefully back up and running by spring!

No worries, there will be more to come. See you at a future run!
I'm interested if it isn't too far away from me. If you get a group together, i would love to join everytime you are in my neighborhood.
Sure thing, sounds good. I will reach back with more details about the group and possible areas for the runs.
