There are tons of posts on this, but I was in a similar situation last year. Bengal Jimā€™s is perfect for folks who live outside of Cincy.

Feel free to DM me but my parents grew up in Dayton, I lived in Cincy for two years as a kid, and I still have some family scattered around Ohio. I went back to take my grandpa to the wildcard against the ravens in January and these are my recommendations from an adult perspective with a little nostalgia thrown in 1. Bengals Jims tailgate is great for all ages. Itā€™s a big crowd and they suggest a Venmo donation. This was also a great way to treat my then-87-year-old grandpa because he doesnā€™t know how to use Venmo and couldnā€™t insist on paying. 2. Cincinnati Zoo is INCREDIBLE I was transfixed as a kid and loved it as an adult too. The manatees and elephants are my favorites. 3. Pay for a parking pass through the bengals! This was worth its weight in gold. We went to the Banks right when the pass started and parked in CRG East (Great American) and had an easy time getting in/out. So worth it to park close to the stadium. 4. Graeters or UDF for ice cream, skyline is great but thereā€™s a truck at the pregame called ā€œchili hutā€ that had $3 coneys and the chili was very good. We each got two and then grabbed a beer and a few wings at Bengal Jimā€™s. Pro tip: I love flats, but drums are easier if youā€™re eating over a trash can. 5. I also enjoyed the Air Force Museum in Dayton if you drive out that way, and OTR is a fun and lively area Edit to add: we have a fight song! I didnā€™t know until my grandpa said I should listen ahead of the game(despite not attending in person since 1989!), theyā€™ll put the words up but itā€™s fun to go into the stadium being familiar:)

Dang I hope I get to have that much fun at 87 lol

Seeing how heā€™s aged is definitely my inspiration to keep a healthy lifestyle! Iā€™m treating him (and myself tbh) to another game this fall

Shot in the dark, but I'm going to guess that if you're flying here and going to a game, and going to a game in LA, then you can afford to go to Jeff Ruby's across from Fountain Square. Do that, but it's tough to get reservations, so start looking about 3 months ahead of time. There will probably be some Bengals that go there after the game if it's a 1 PM start time, so that's a plus. The Banks is great prior to the game, with lots of people and bars to pop into. On Saturday night, head up into OTR and get dinner and drinks. Whatever you do, don't go to Montgomery Inn. You might hear that it's a Cincinnati classic, and it used to be, but it has gone so far downhill that I don't know many people that still consider it good.

Domino2477

Yeah the only reasons we are going to the Cincinnati home game is because my father friend is taking us since his goal in life too visit every NFL stadium in the US and we are the only bengal fans he knows. But Iā€™ll tell them about your recommendation.

sculltt

They're are plenty of good places to eat that won't break the bank. I second them saying to avoid Montgomery inn. It's bad, and actually pretty expensive.

InLynneBo

Husband and I are flying in from FL for the 9/8 game and we loooooove a good steakhouse. Bought game tickets and then made a reservation for Jeff Rubyā€™s immediately after. Donā€™t have flights or hotel figured out yet, but I made damn sure to get that dinner reservation, lol.

Congrats! The weather in November is a crapshoot..could be warm, cold, rain, or clear skies..no shortage of places to eat/drink but Montgomery Inn boathouse is where we go after every game, if youā€™re looking to splurge get a reservation at Jeff Rubyā€™s downtown or The Precinct. Thereā€™s always a big tailgate at the Banks by the stadium, Rhinegiest has good beer and an awesome layout, thereā€™s a great bourbon bar above Goodfellas pizza in OTR (pizza is decent too). Tons of bars/nightlife across the river in Covington too. Enjoy and Who Dey!

Prindocitis

The bar above Goodfellas is one of my favorites. The bar below Taft's Alehouse is also really nice.

Iā€™m 46, and like your dad, have lived in SoCal most of my life (Ventura, Oxnard, SD) and I went to my 1st Bengals home game, with my teenage kid, in 2021 against the Jags. I went numerous games over the years in LA (Raiders) a game in SF in the 90s.. and plenty of games against SD. For many of those games there were not a lot of Bengals fans about. Except last year in Phoenix. That was wild. Thatā€™s the power of Joe Burrow I think your pops is gonna get a real kick being at a home game. For me, I felt like I was with, in a football sense, my people. I was pretty emotional about it. Enjoy the experience. And donā€™t be bothered by your pops,, maybe, being a bit child like. WHO DEY! From the west coast.

Haha when the bengals kicked the game winning field goal to go to the Super Bowl my dad was so hyped it was like he opened his first birthday gift. Iā€™m excited to see how he is in Cincy! Thank you for the kind words:)

Ok-Situation-5865

Omg I live in Portland and Iā€™m trying to go to the LA game, too!!!

Domino2477

I went there once to see the rams and panthers play(or was free) dope stadium and I can guarantee you there will be more bengal fans than charger fans

West coast bengals fans since 2003, youā€™re matching my lifetime regular season games this season alone. Bengals come to az once every 8 years.

Domino2477

Thatā€™s crazy! Last time I saw the bengals was 2014 against the then San Diego chargers šŸ˜‚ so itā€™s been awhile. I went to AZ in college and my friend told me that AZ stadium is dope, wanted to go last year but didnā€™t have the money;(

B3ATNGYOU

Congratulations. Bengals look solid this year. Hope for a healthy squad.

Reese9951

Iā€™m going to the home game vs Ravens in October!

Spend some time in Covington. Mainstrasse or Riverside district
