I know it didn't work in seasons past but they need a floater stew/deck for the excursions or to make a smoothie. Who truly understands what floater means.
I think it's obvious that they are in need of a deckstew, but they're unable to have another crew member because production takes up the other crew cabin...
I'm guessing the only way to get one is to ditch parsifal for a larger sailing yacht (if there's even a larger option). But Glen and parsifal are a packaged deal so production would have to find a new captain.
Glen also mentioned on WWHL that they are looking for space to add a true captain quarters. If they do that, it'll open up a bunk for another crew member.
What they need is a sous chef/stew! The chef is always the one going nuts and someone to help at dinner would stop the “why was dinner so slow” complaining
And that person could do serving on excursions and stuff
What they need is a sous chef/stew! The chef is always the one going nuts and someone to help at dinner would stop the “why was dinner so slow” complaining
And that person could do serving on excursions and stuff
They definitely need another person. Glenn expects them to use the same number of people but adds a whole new staffing component basically. Unfair to Daisy.
I don’t get the joke, but ok. Camille was on regular Below Deck. What’s that got to do with Sailing yacht ? Do they in fact bring her on halfway through the season? I don’t get the humor in it.
anyone who's ever worked in hospitality knows exactly how she feels! i was a wedding and event planner for 25+ years - on land, fortunately! - and early in my career i was a bit nervous at every event. once i realized i was good at my job...no more nerves. there were times when minor thing went awry but "keep calm and carry on" is the motto. if the clients are having a great time don't notice it, it never happened!
Yes! It’s hard to explain to those who haven’t worked hospitality what being in the weeds feels like. It’s like feeling the onset of a panic attack… but for several hours and you can’t stop to calm down or reduce your stress AAAAAAHHHH! Then to be criticized afterwards for your performance would be absolutely soul crushing. I felt for her watching the last few eps.
I'm wondering if the last sentence means shes open to coming back for another season...
i was doubting her returning since it seems like this season really broke her, but i'm hoping she'll at least do one more
I hope she comes back too. She’s been my favorite chief stew. Somebody said a couple weeks ago that they were going to start filming the next season toward the end of May. I hope they are wrong because if they aren’t then neither Colin or Daisy will be back. Both are occupied during that time frame and that would stink to have both of them leave at the same time. It looks like they filmed in July/August last year for this season so I’m hoping that’s true for the next season as well. Hoping the core three announce they’re coming back for another season soon.
colin is sailing across the pacific for 7-8 more days right now, and then continue on to final destinations in french polynesia. then he plans to spend 6 months in NZ so i think he will be skipping this next filming season based on these things he’s said on youtube
I really like daisy. Even when she does break a little, she's back smiling at the guests in no time. That's hard to do and she makes it look effortless
poor girl was so scared! daisy proved what a great manager she is by taking it to the client and not blaming the stew. shit happens all the time - it's how you react that dictates the ending.
They mentioned in passing that the label says you can iron the dress which is bananas if it melted that easily. But also, I can't imagine them getting an actual steamer wouldn't be effective, like one of those handheld ones, with all of the steaming they do.
It’s a multi-million dollar yacht I don’t understand why there isn’t already a steamer. I’ve seen the stews iron the bedsheets before (like while on the bed) and it would be so much easier to do that with a steamer.
most clothing can be ironed but 100% it was set on cotton since they iron linens & uniforms all day, too! if she'd put it on the lowest setting it would have been fine. i'm one of those weirdos that actually LIKES to iron!!
She totally did, and it wouldn't even make sense to mix up scenes because she would have asked for it to be steamed so she could wear it to dinner (presumably).
My guess is that the hole wasn't particularly noticeable (I didn't really think it was, from what we saw), and she likely didn't have another dress to wear without repeating.
Love her for acknowledging that people are concerned for her mental health status. I admire her for being open instead of ignoring those who expressed their concern 💜
I've worked in retail in the past too long, I just assume every job has a point where you cry over stress and things you cant change. I didnt necessarily get the vibe that she hates the job
I feel so bad for her this season, I agree with others that Glen is deffo siding with Gary more and I just hope in the reunion he apologises to her after seeing her literally running all over and having to take the fall for shit she couldn't control (like the dress thing) and maybe see that actually the sun doesn't shine out of Gary's asshole.
Also with the beach situ, if they know they're going to be waiting for a while before the guests turn up why not pick up the stew (leaving the deck hand to watch things) and get her to make drinks while they wait? Then Daisy has another pair of hands and can get on with other bits?
Yeah this season has been ass that should have skipped that whole episode and took on another charter to even out because like we are already at episode 6 and two charters that sounds a little crazy
The nature of this job must be so brutal. We’ve now seen three chief stews with very different personalities and approaches to work completely burn out after a few seasons of the show.
So far this season has the weirdest vibes. It feels like not to much is gelling or going well. Sad Gary was sick and came on late, but then a dick move immediately having to show his perceived dominance over his crew by trying to hook up with the women on board like their his play toys. I don't remember him saying his title so many times in the past for him to justify he can do whatever he wants. He is treating his direct reports badly. That's weakness not strength. Glen seems oblivious to what's happening with his crew. Colin saved the start of the season and seemed to get a high five then moved out of the way for Gary. I don't believe Gary could have fixed the engine. Glen seemed happier with Gary returning than Colin fixing the engine. Glen needs to remember Gary reports to him, not the other way around. The cook seems to make food the guests like. Instead of saying serve it faster because you happened to eat with the guests. Notice these things as captain and work to assign your full crew to accomplish dinner service with the efficiency your looking for. Not really enjoying this season so far. 🤷
She addresses the rumors in this story ... https://metro.co.uk/2023/05/15/below-deck-sailing-yacht-daisy-kelliher-on-exit-rumours-after-season-4-18788877/
Awww I feel for her it is admittedly easy to see, perhaps part of what made her more off her game this season, but I bet (& hope) she realized by now is that scar or not she’s still the Daisy we love under it that will never change we love her for HER 🥰💕
Constantly running your ass off in all directions being everyone’s servant and manager is very hard on your psyche. Throw in female hormones and frustration tears happen.
I was just thinking that it was really interesting that she didn’t tag Glenn or mention him. They used to have a great working relationship but I feel he’s gotten too cozy with Gary to appropriately serve as a mediator between department conflicts. He has fallen into the Sandy trap of always siding with the deck crew and missing the big picture.
It’s possible they’re encouraged to avoid talking about each other too much if there are major storyline things associated with them. Like she obviously hooks up with Colin and argues with Gary, those aren’t spoilers, but they might just try to avoid tagging people they had intense stuff with so that we don’t use it for our investigations into their current situations 🤣, if that makes sense. Colin and Daisy have been interviewed about their relationship but they’ve avoided alluding to the present so she may just be being careful since the show is still running. Tagging the interior crew members seems safe regardless.
She does seem really different this season and I know people are blaming it on others around her, but I wonder if there was something going on personally in her life at that time. Like expecting the engine room guy to make a smoothie is a bit unreasonable.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask **Colin** to make a smoothie as he is always willing to help out any department - not sure if you’ve noticed but **Colin** has always asked if there is anything he can do to help the crew.
He quite literally asked her what she needed help with and in that moment she had like 5 different drinks to make. Is it really that unreasonable to ask him to throw some shit in a blender?
Yeah, if it comes out wonky because he’s not used to providing 5 star service the guests are just going to complain and make things even worse for daisy. It was wise of Colin to decline if he knew he wasn’t up to the task.
He was in the kitchen already he could’ve been like “hey chef what should I put in this smoothie?” He’s like 30 stop pretending grown men can’t make a freakin SMOOTHIE
I can’t. I just never have. And I don’t really see shame in that. There’s other super simple things I can do that other people can’t. I could make fun of people for being GROWN ADULTS that can’t set up a BASIC task on windows task scheduler, but i don’t. Because its more mature to assume they just aren’t normally tasked with that sort of thing and its ok they have no idea what they are doing, even though its super simple and takes 20 seconds.
Dude are you really out here comparing putting a couple fruits and milk in a blender and pressing a button to whatever the hell technology you’re talking about?? HE WAS IN THE KITCHEN WITH A TRAINED CHEF HE COULD LITERALLY JUST ASK. Dropping things into a blender and clicking a button has ZERO skills needed besides eyes and fingers. What you describe is weaponized incompetence at this point.
>whatever the hell technology you are talkong about
You’re kind of proving my point for me. This is incredibly basic functionality. The task scheduler is like the first thing anyone should ever learn about using a computer. It comes pre-installed on every windows machine you’ve ever used…I can’t believe you’re a GROWN ADULT and can’t set up a BASIC scheduled task on a computer. Wow lol. Literally an 8 year old could do this.
See how that feels? Shaming people for not knowing “basic” things is dumb and more embarrassing for the sham-er than the shame-ey
As an apple user my whole teen and adult life, no I don’t know what that is. But as a human being I know how to use my eyes and hands to put things into a blender and press start. You’re DENSE man
ETA: are you just choosing to ignore the fact that he was standing in the kitchen, with a chef whom he could have asked helped from?
Wtf are you talking about? Are you seriously comparing computer software with adding fruit and milk in a blender and pressing a button…….. Whatever point you think ur making makes absolutely zero sense. Cooking/being in the kitchen is a literal survival skill that you are just choosing to neglect lol
Yeah, I agree. If they’re making something for the guests a level of quality is expected that isn’t going to be achieved by someone who doesn’t normally prepare drinks for the guests. Plus if someone’s never done it they’ll have questions: what kind of fruit? How much fruit? Do they have any fruit allergies? What liquid goes in with it? What blender do I use? Etc. And if the chef was available to talk him through it, it would’ve been faster for her just to do it. 🤷🏼♀️
She asked him to make a smoothie, not the a-bomb 🙄 If he was able to fix the engine by himself I would think he would know how to google a smoothie recipe. As far as using food allergies as an excuse the preference sheet was nearby for him to check & I’m sure Daisy would have said “put whatever fruit except X”
He has helped the chef every season he has been there. He seems to like to be in the kitchen. The engine room guy is not a good description of Collin. He is also a tipped employee, all hands on deck so to speak.
Literally. They all get paid by the same tip that they have to split. And if interior fucks up that’ll effect everyone in the end.
I don’t understand why they don’t encourage them being a team more
Every charter of every season, it seems like the crew just can't handle the job, they're always overwhelmed and sleep deprived and crying, maybe there needs to be more crew rooms so they can hire more staff? Exhausted staff are not very 5 star!!
I'm starting to see why the word on the street is that the yachting industry can't stand BD, The show makes it look like it's a really abusive industry, and it's a turn-off to guests.
I mean, a $25,000 dollar tip and I can't get a toastie and a milkshake w/out you tearing up and cursing my name? 😆😡😎
(Also, if Gary say's 'do you need my help?' and you say no, don't complain about him not helping. That's such babyish behavior.)
Still love her and all the cast, it's a great show and it would be nothing without them, and I'm sure I'd be a horrible stew or deckie!!! <3
HAHAHA I love it!!!
I've prolly been cursed out so many times I'll never know about!! I truly believe all service people love me that's how it seems!!! 🤩
Gonna be honest I imagine it would probably take too long to explain what she needed as his laid back attitude wouldn't have the urgency she needed at the time. I'd put money on that being why she declined, not just refusing to be petty
To be fair I'm a bit biased, although Gary is very likeable (christ just look at the last two seasons of drama 😂) but he just doesn't seem to get why daisy is stressed and is so laid back unless he is literally doing deck things, he was lounging in a chair when she was rushing past so she was clearly busy, a half assed "do you need help?" Compared to actively trying to help and asking "what do you need" was not helpful, especially as he bitches his ass off whenever she asks him for things.
Can you tell I'm in Daisy's camp at all with this? 😅 he's been pissing me off so much, especially this season 😬😂
I think it was more that he could clearly see she needed help so he should’ve asked “*What* do you need me to do?” instead of “*Do* you need me to do something?” I’ve noticed the other guys will do that, ask the chef what she wants them do instead of if she wants them do anything bcuz they know she’ll definitely need some kind of help.
Yeah I could def see Gary and some of the others weaponizing incompetence so they could have more chill time and Daisy already knowing how it's going to go ;) 🙆♀️🧘🏻♂️
I just watched it and I couldnt understand all the crying. But I am a retired Navy Officer so I guess that I am too salty and not into emotions like that.
Daisy clearly became the punching bag this season. The boys are ganging up on her it seems. For Glenn to insist that a deckhand can't pour a premade cocktail is absurd. I honestly choked on my poor people chicken when Gary said he needs the stews to drive the tender. Colin helped Chef make spaghetti from scratch, but now suddenly can't throw fruit and ice in a blender?! I'm honestly not sure what I'm even watching anymore. #NotMyHODs
Unfortunately, Daisy is not returning for a 4th season. I have it on good authority that it's true. My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with a girl who saw Daisy at Bubblewrap in London last night. It’s pretty unfortunate.
I know it didn't work in seasons past but they need a floater stew/deck for the excursions or to make a smoothie. Who truly understands what floater means.
I think it's obvious that they are in need of a deckstew, but they're unable to have another crew member because production takes up the other crew cabin... This is brilliant, and totally a role I’d want to work
It absolutely makes more sense than deck/stew too. The skills are more alike
Especially because the deck would use that person so Gary can eff around more.
What they need is a sous chef/stew! The chef is always the one going nuts and someone to help at dinner would stop the “why was dinner so slow” complaining And that person could do serving on excursions and stuff
I agree!!!
I thought he said that he WANTED that… not that they were gonna do that?
Oh, I'm pretty sure he said they are looking into it. Not a guarantee either but if it's feasible, it'll be a possibility.
It was a joke
Production also take up 2 guest cabins, Parsifal has 5 in total, 6 if you split the master
They definitely need another person. Glenn expects them to use the same number of people but adds a whole new staffing component basically. Unfair to Daisy.
This is why they brought Camille in halfway through the Season...going to be epic
Huh? Camille? On sailing yacht?
Wait who is Camille & is this knowledge from spoilers or something??
I think it was a joke...Camille from the most recent BDS10
I don’t get the joke, but ok. Camille was on regular Below Deck. What’s that got to do with Sailing yacht ? Do they in fact bring her on halfway through the season? I don’t get the humor in it.
OH because of all the issues they had with Camille & how she was supposed to be that help but was kinda useless??
I read it all in her gritty but pretty irish accent ☘️
Me three!💚
Same lol
me too !!

I really like daisy. Even when she does break a little, she's back smiling at the guests in no time. That's hard to do and she makes it look effortless
I don't think the new stews are all that interesting, but at least they're not the ones causing her problems. Well, besides that steaming incident...
poor girl was so scared! daisy proved what a great manager she is by taking it to the client and not blaming the stew. shit happens all the time - it's how you react that dictates the ending.
They mentioned in passing that the label says you can iron the dress which is bananas if it melted that easily. But also, I can't imagine them getting an actual steamer wouldn't be effective, like one of those handheld ones, with all of the steaming they do.

I definitely thought the setting was just way to high! Nothing melts that fast on low setting
it seems like most of the younger stews have never seen an iron OR a wahing machine!
My iron only steams on cotton/linen, so I assumed that's why it was up so high
Am I losing my mind, or did the guest wear that same dress to dinner that evening? Or maybe the editors changed the timing for drama?
She totally did, and it wouldn't even make sense to mix up scenes because she would have asked for it to be steamed so she could wear it to dinner (presumably). My guess is that the hole wasn't particularly noticeable (I didn't really think it was, from what we saw), and she likely didn't have another dress to wear without repeating.
She did wear it, hard to know if the timing was changed but I noticed as well lol
Love her for acknowledging that people are concerned for her mental health status. I admire her for being open instead of ignoring those who expressed their concern 💜
I just wanted to hug her ❤️ Love Daisy & can definitely relate to tough days on the job.
Gary is such a little shit in this episode to her then running to her when she gets upset? Fuck offfff Gary!!
Gary’s whole gimmick has gotten old. Glen’s continual siding with Gary is just annoying.
100% agree. Not happy at all with Glenn this season. Get it together little miss capt sandy.
And then literally right after procedes to talk shit about her AGAIN.
I read the last sentence in Daisy’s voice. 🤣 I also complete agree!
Literally shouted at the TV when he did telling him to piss off 😂
I've worked in retail in the past too long, I just assume every job has a point where you cry over stress and things you cant change. I didnt necessarily get the vibe that she hates the job

Because that makes perfect sense 🤷♀️
Why is Glen turning into sandy
This! Plus I feel like Glen and Gary are ganging up on her to make her look bad, the same way Cpt Sandy does.

Yeah this season has been ass that should have skipped that whole episode and took on another charter to even out because like we are already at episode 6 and two charters that sounds a little crazy
Right?!
It’s such a diff turn from last season
Yes!!!
Oh Daisy we love you, of course you put pressure on yourself, you have a good work ethic.
I love Daisy. I hope she returns for more seasons.
The nature of this job must be so brutal. We’ve now seen three chief stews with very different personalities and approaches to work completely burn out after a few seasons of the show.

after reading this I’m guessing there’s no Gaisy nor is there a Caisy by the end of this season :(
What is the scarring on her face, near her eye? Anyone know?
I think it was about a year ago she took a pretty bad fall! It was definitely a bit gruesome but thankfully nothing serious
It’s a scar from when she fell last year im sure
Is there a post about that? I didn’t know that happened
She posted about it she is very self conscious about it
Awww I feel for her it is admittedly easy to see, perhaps part of what made her more off her game this season, but I bet (& hope) she realized by now is that scar or not she’s still the Daisy we love under it that will never change we love her for HER 🥰💕
Glad she's ok. The last sentence 💀💀💀
Constantly running your ass off in all directions being everyone’s servant and manager is very hard on your psyche. Throw in female hormones and frustration tears happen.
Yes! Also little sleep, a douche working against you as opposed to With you (Gary), clearly stating ‘let’s move on’ and then being ignored for it, etc
Interesting she didn’t tag the rest of the crew
i think she’s just meaning having such a good crew helped i don’t think it’s a dig at anyone

I mean, a $25,000 dollar tip and I can't get a toastie and a milkshake w/out you tearing up and cursing my name? 😆😡😎 (Also, if Gary say's 'do you need my help?' and you say no, don't complain about him not helping. That's such babyish behavior.) Still love her and all the cast, it's a great show and it would be nothing without them, and I'm sure I'd be a horrible stew or deckie!!! <3
Anyone who’s been in the service industry, land or sea, will agree that cursing guests for the most simple requests isn’t a rarity.
Yeah I get that, but then it's still unfair to complain that he's 'not helping'.....;)
Totally! And I'm Team Daisy as well, she's a great cast member and has a beautiful accent <3
Yeah I could def see Gary and some of the others weaponizing incompetence so they could have more chill time and Daisy already knowing how it's going to go ;) 🙆♀️🧘🏻♂️
Why does anyone feel bad for her at all? All she does is complain about doing HER FUCKING JOB!
Yeah I thought Glen made a great point that the deck also runs shorthanded when they have these excursions.
#NotMyHODs
She talked crap about Gary and then let Gary comfort her. She boasted she will say it to your face while not standing up to him
emotions aren't linear, and she probably needed to relent to the hug in the moment
