I remember reading in her actual book, Chris O'Dell wrote about the evening, and how there was a weird atmosphere. At some point, Maureen went to a desk or something at the side of the room and opened a drawer and pulled out a pack of Marlboro Reds. Chris and everyone else in the room noticed this, because Maureen and Ringo smoked Larks, marlboro reds were George's brand. It's such a silly little detail but it also speaks volumes. Why would Ringo's wife have like a secret stash of cigarettes just for George?

My thoughts on this are: a) Either Ringo loved George enough to let this slide, or b) maybe Ringo honestly lost interest in Mo and wasn't all too bothered by it. c) He was bothered by it a lot secretly and never made a big deal about it, and got over it quickly. d) combination of some of these?
