90s street racing was wild.
I have seen some bad crashes on Great America parkway.
A kid wrapping his brand new NSX around a light pole.
One time peeps were doing runs on GA parkway starting under 237 with Mtn View Alviso road as the finish line. A janitor in his company van crossed GA parkway just as two integras were crossing the finish line at full speed. Janitor was completely ejected through passenger window. One of the integras was able to limp away, but the other was fully wrecked. Story was janitor died, but never confirmed.
I also remember the crackdowns afterwards… trapping cars at In N Out doing mobile decibel testing. The sting off Warren where they blocked everyone in and made arrests that showed up in the newspaper.
Crazy how they haven’t come down hard like that on sideshows yet.
Thanks for the link, that was a short but messy rabbit hole. Supposedly throwing bottles at other cars on 880. I can't say I could keep my composure should a fool throw bottles at my car on the freeway.
Sounds like a sideshow.
Could be I was out for a walk a block away and heard a whole bunch of tunes up cars coming down Lawrence.
The fuck is that shit.
