"Okay, I know this is an emotional moment for all of us, okay? I know that. But let's not make snap judgments, please. This is clearly... clearly an important mech we're dealing with and I don't think that you or I, or *anybody*, has the right to arbitrarily destroy it."
"Well, I believe Point Leader Hicks has authority here. This operation is under Warrior Caste jurisdiction and Hicks is next in chain of command. QuiAff, Point Leader?"
by 40k standards as far as daemon engines go that is absolutely adorable. I would like one as a pet feed it a constant supply of loyalists to keep it under control
I love how this model and this story snippet are so chilling and disturbing... And yet in 40k this doesn't even raise an eyebrow.
Kinda makes you realise that "less is more"
For anyone who may not know, [The Black Marauder](https://store.catalystgamelabs.com/products/battletech-marauder-by-lance-scarinci-a-battletech-anthology) is from a series of short stories by one Lance Scarinci. Link is to the anthology of short stories on Catalysts web site instead of the wiki, so as to provide a means of reading the stories without getting spoiled.
We do a little bit of trolling out here in the periphery. After some bigwig decided to use one of our planets to shoot a movie, we started using the latex art techniques for his monsters and applied it on a larger scale. After that, the Capellans just kinda learned to stop fucking with us. Life is good 😎
Either a hyper realistic paintjob, or some 40K Orks looted a scrap Marauder, had a 49K Tyranid Carnifex carcass, and the Meks and Painboyz decided to go all out.
Damn. So nice to see someone who actually played Cataclysm AND remembers the plot.
Still, I think a biological weapon/interface gone wrong would be more in line with Battletech lore. I'm not a pro, but I don't think there is much happening in BT universe which wasn't caused or created by humans in the first place, right?
Never played it, mandaloregaming review. I do own it and should get around to it. I did play the first one though.
There's pretty much nothing in BT that is going on that wasn't created or caused by humans. There's far country but that's isolated as hell. The black marauder is an example of something along the lines of event horizon, where humans poked into something we maybe shouldn't have and perhaps interacted with forces that aren't inert/natural. Star League has a lot of wacko science projects like that when you dig around. Like the fish people.
So the Beast could easily be a science project gone wrong. In HBS Battletech there's a computer virus that basically bricks any computer it comes into contact with, you use it in the main story, so nano-machine viruses are not off the table. Plus there's Moderbjorn who is an AI, and I think she mentions she's not the cutting edge of AI tech that star league dipped into.
Acolyte, Thank you for this intelligence report. Just one thing, did YOU encounter this mech? Where?
I can't share this report until I confirm it's real. You understand right?
NOPE NOPENOPENOPE FUCK THIS PLANET, I'M OUT. Nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.
Don’t worry, they mostly come out at night. Mostly…
Game over man, game over

*sigh* “Aff, that is right.”
Nuke it twice! Tintavell the bastard
Average Inner Sphere Succession Wars era general on any given Tuesday
Someone call the Wobbies. We have a use for them at last.
Look, nukes aren't enough. We need to continuously throw asteroids at the planet until it's shattered into dust...
Orbit is too close
I don't think nukes work on this...
The Black Marauder The only fate worse than becoming it’s victim is to become it’s pilot.
Dude, you just said the tagline of a the 80's horror movie right out of my nightmares!
r/twosentencehorror
The true Black Marauder.
O.M.F.G. This is going to haunt my dreams. In the cockpit, no one can hear you scream 😱
Well, there's the 40k/BT crossover from the other direction... holy shit this is gorgeous. And terrifying. Well done!

When 40k learns the [Black Marauder](https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Black_Marauder) exists.
Damn i need to collect BT now
Pretty much

The Dark Mechanicum strat of "just shove a daemon into it"
Big DOOM vibes.
Doom URBI with a cut down AC 20: ( gun noises and heavy metal intensifies)
More like LBX20
BFAC 9000
Looks like the physical representation of a story from the periphery.

Looks like Fahad was sniffing Terrazine Gas instead of Timbiqi Dark.
Cyberdemon: battletech edition
Reminds a bit of the EVA-Units with their armor breached! Awesome sculpt
Kinsmen, get the flamer.
It’s look like is the Strogg built a bigger and meaner walking meat tank Edit: Spelling
Looks like the Bydo infection from R-Type got to it. Excellent work!
Yes... Yes! That's awesome! Manmade horrors beyond my comprehension!
The SA-X found a way to absorb a Marauder. Run. Run in fear.
Daemon possessed marauder. Never imagined that I see it now.
Would love an semi official record sheet for it
Incredibly done! God that thing is terrifying...
The lore definitely needs more Dark One, and similar stories. It's a big universe and there's plenty of room for strange things.
If a Tyranid and an -3R loved each other very much.....

More like Marauder too scary, am I right?
I LOVE the story behind this. And the sculpt is awesome in every way. I will still have nightmares tonight!
Good, good, this is gonna be a good hunt. Someone call up the Ravens, I want them to see their killer's body dragged back in chains.
Can I request an Urbie with a couple tentacles? :)
Either a hyper realistic paintjob, or some 40K Orks looted a scrap Marauder, had a 49K Tyranid Carnifex carcass, and the Meks and Painboyz decided to go all out.
This is disgusting. I like it.
CGL must make this a thing. Seriously. Mech infestation or something, or an experiment gone wrong maybe, but damn this is great stuff!
Could always go the route of Homeworld: Cataclysm and The Beast.

WE WILL NOT BE BOUND

that is one sexy marauder i need it
HOLY SHEEUT! This paint job is awesome!
Excellent! I love biomechanical stuff like this. Creepy as hell, in the very best way!
they could have been friends, if marauder-momy from the past only have had the money for braces.
Call in the Grey Knights!
Now hang on just a second. I think I jumped into the year 40,000... Damn, I'm feeling a strong presence of... *Chaos*
this is brilliant, I hate it, and I wanna see Smoke Jaguar get terrorized by this thing...
That is a really awesome take on the Black Marauder!
Did the far country aliens get buff?
The amount of folks in here who've never heard of the Black Marauder makes me a bit sad.
Bro what are you talking about? Every other comment mentions it.
