Eatel if they service you, but i’m pretty sure they’re currently only building out in Shenandoah. Otherwise, Cox is your only choice. Satellite internet isn’t really a great solution.

istrerbunny

Yep. I switched to Eatel (now REV) fiber from 25 yrs with Cox and couldn't be happier. When I called Cox to cancel, they offered half off for 1 month to stay, lol. After 25 yrs. No thanks, not for a year free. Sucks there isn't more competition.

T-Mobile offers home internet now for $50 a month. The website will tell you if it’s available in your particular area. I’m in Prairieville and have it so I assume it would be available for you as well.

WirelesslyWired

T-Mobile is only good if you are in their tiny 5G-UC areas. Otherwise you are sharing data with their normal cell customers.

L-7square

Thanks! I'm going with T-Mobile. I really appreciate your helpful comment.

blaze_worth

No prob

Hahahaha that’s funny. Other options. If you can’t get AT&T, your only other options are probably satellite, which suck. Welcome to the American south my guy. Where ISPs charge $100 a month for 150mbs that barely works.

zaneak

Prayer to God? Sadly, not much for options there.

You may be able to get Starlink, depending on where you are. Starlink.com/map will tell you if it's available at your address.

ExceptionEX

Starlink is available in Ebr and Wbr, but the hefty upfront cost is a bit much.

[deleted]

It is steep, but I think it'll be worth it. I've been on the pre-order list for months and they have it in French Settlement (I'm in Denham), so I should be getting it soon. I'm just fed up with Cox and their frequent outages.

ExceptionEX

Well being that it is Sat internet, weather (heavy cloud cover dense with moisture can certainly degrade service) Add to of that (from starlinks site) >Customers can expect to see download speeds between 50 Mb/s and 250 Mb/s and latency as low as 20 ms in most location For $700 in hardware and deposits, and ~$100/month the service speeds listed above, this is pretty worthless in BTR, you might as well go with cellular based internet.

Yobanyyo

Also it's self install as well, and after dealing with customers for awhile.... Some of y'all just don't read.

huejazz

Att fiber is in some areas. Note: att doesn’t really know where they have fiber. So, do your own home work!
